It is right off the highway with easy access. It was fun to look inside the various buildings. My grandson especially enjoyed the caboose. He knew every detail about the caboose and enjoyed explaining how every part worked. We were lucky to be there as a train came down the tracks. Talk about up close and personal! No tickets are required. The glass could use a bit of cleaning inside and out, and more lighting is needed inside.

Glad we stopped by.
These are original, restored cabins from nearly 200 years ago.
There is a lot of information about the Trail of Tears, and art to go with it.

This is Native American history, and therefore American history.
Franklin Faulkner was hired by Chief John Ross of the Cherokee Tribe to protect the rights of the people during the Trail of Tears.

Quite a few more people survived, with the help of this alliance, as compared to the trips and groups before them.

Franklin Faulkner is an American hero, and he used the law to do that.

He decided to stay with the Cherokee Tribe after the Trail of Tears, and he became the first Judge of the Cherokee Nation.

Amazing piece of Americana, easy access, put together well, and even the kids loved it. Also amazing that there was little to no graffiti or damage by visitors. Hidden gem!

Wonderful step back through history that is an interesting snapshot of several things in the area. Despite the fact that the colder months has halted the upkeep on this attraction, it was still worth the time. I hope to return to it when it has warmed up some and everything is at top notch upkeep and flags are flying high again.

This little road side museum is awesome. It tells the story of where and how Sallisaw come into being in the early years it was the jump off point into Indian Territory from Fort Smith Arkansas. It is quaint and gives the visitor a glimpse into frontier life don't miss it next time you come through

Stopped here to retake a photo from 20 years ago. I had such a hard time finding this place on the internet, considering I had no information other than a photo. It was a great open area to look around and learn about the times of frontier's men and their interactions with Native Americans.
