Fantastic experience! We had the 6 course tasting menu last night, and it was amazing! The menu was reflective of fall, and many of the flavors were integrated into each dish in the best way possible. There were many flavors I was not used to eating, and enjoyed every second. From the delightful salad with fresh veggies, a silky smooth squash soup, perfectly cooked Tuna with an amazing squash/beet sauce, great risotto with mushrooms, and tender short ribs. Each dish had the perfect amount of seasoning and unique flavor to enhance each dish. Do yourself a favor and go here!

Top notch restaurant for a gastronomic odyssey with Chef Scott. I had the 6 course menu and each plate was carefully crafted to tell a story, the story of their maker, the journey of the ingredients and the story of love. (You probably want to share this experience with those you love)
The colors on the plates were vibrant, fresh and tantalizing, and every bites came with a measured proportion of flavors creating a perfect symphony on my palette. I came with my own wine as recommended, the server took pride and joy in executing the service of food and the pouring of wine.
By the time dinner was done, three different tables joined in a conversation for vacation recommendations, other food experiences and business ideas.
It was magical to see the love across gender, race and social /professional status.
That's what good food does to people, we get back to our innermost desire, unadulterated, innocent and carefree desire to relate to other human beings.
Lastly You don't come to Verbena BYOB to see if it lives up to your expectations, You come here for an upward calibration of your expectations..
Indulge yourself, you are worthy of it all.

Truly an amazing meal!

Four of us had dinner here and opted for the 6 Course Tasting Menu. This is the right choice - trust me. It is pricey, but for a meal this mind blowing, it is absolutely worth it.

Staff was friendly and provided us with an outstanding evening.

Chef was a Gandalf the Grey class kitchen magician. Each course was perfectly flavored, seasoned and presented.

We all agreed that that these table-specific dishes were 10/10 - every one.

We will be back, and cannot wait to try your next ideas.

I do not remember the names, but here is what we were served - photo captions

Chef Scott Morozin cares, full stop. Verbena BYOB is outstanding, full stop.

But I'll elaborate. Chef cares about creating an experience. He cares about locally sourcing ingredients so you have the most fresh and seasonal sensations. He cares about creativity, quality, consistency, and a highest standard of execution. He cares that you are well fed, well cared for, and, well, appreciated as a patron. He connects - with his menu, with his house, with the community, and with you as soon as you walk in the door at Verbena.

So what are you waiting for. Go. Eat. Enjoy. And bring a damn good red.

Had an incredible dinner at Verbena! The service was friendly and attentive, but most importantly, the food was phenomenal. We had a delicious sweet potato soup appetizer followed by a ribeye steak cooked to perfection and a deliciously crispy skate on a bed of green beans and other vegetables. Dessert was a warm and decadent homemade baklava. Would definitely eat here the next time we're in Kennett Square!

Yet another AMAZING DINNER at Verbena. As always, Chef Scott knocks it out of the park, and the waitstaff as well, can't be beat!

For you foodies out there, please, please, give this place a try. If you've ever wanted to go to Tallulah's Table and can't get in (or even if you can) do yourself a favor and also try Verbena. It's truly in the same echelon of food.

For my fellow picky eaters out there, I am not the pickiest of eaters, but I am a bit picky and not terribly adventurous. But every time I've been to Verbena - even if the description of the dish made me think "I don't know if I'd like that," when I tried it I always liked it more than expected and often LOVED it!

Do yourself a favor, and give Verbena a try if you haven't already. You won't regret it!

My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Verbena last night, and it was the best meal out we have had in years. Each course was simply delicious! The spring salad included pickled carrots, green beans and beets which provided great textures and taste. The striped bass was cooked perfectly, and the carrot ginger sauce on the seared duck breast was a delicious and welcome change from typical sweet sauces. The Rib eye was tender and cooked to perfection. I was so full that I contemplated taking the dessert home, but after one bite of the lemon curd tart, that was not going to happen. Service was attentive and gracious. We’ll be back very soon! Kudos to Chef Scott - we’re fortunate to have you in KS.

Last night we dined at Verbena where we have dined many times before. We took some dear friends who were returning to Cape Cod today. We wanted to give them a memorable send off so we chose Verbena for dinner. Chef Scott pulled out all the stops as her personally prepared and served our delicious 3 course tasting menu. He made us feel like Royalty. The food was outstanding as was the ambiance and company. Thank you Scott for going over and above to ensure we had one of the most delightful meals ever. Good food, good wine and good company. What more can one ask for? Bravo!

Visited verbena for an anniversary and it was the perfect choice. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy, our server Carol was extremely attentive and knowledgeable and Chef Scott is truly talented and passionate about everything he does. We had the tasting menu and somehow each course was better than the last. Everything was perfect from the gorgeous plating, to the perfectly cooked duck and my wine glass was never left empty. If you're looking for true fine dining this is it.

Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. We went for the 3-course weeknight menu and left stuffed! The portions are generous and each dish was delicious. We enjoyed our chat with the Chef (Scott) at the end of our meal, and Jen's service throughout was stellar. Cannot wait to come back!

Just dined at Verbenas for the very first time and can't say enough about it! I seldom write reviews but this experience was superb. The menu was inspired and the presentation divine. I ordered the tasting menu with eight courses! Every course was artistically presented and delicious! This was not bistro cuisine...The chef clearly was vested in the taste, presentation and dining experience of his guests...and I truly felt like his guest. I found Verbena's hospitality and positive energy unique. The tasting menu had some very fun surprises and the chef peeked out a few times to check on us. Really had a blast and loved the warm decor too. Excellent caring vibe at Verbena's. Bravo!

Take advantage of this place while you still can get a table. Make your reservation, get the prix fixe, and let the chef take you on a delicious journey.

I’ve been multiple times and take every opportunity to go again. The food is always fantastic, different every time, and if I’m being honest should probably cost much more than it does. Hence my suggestion to take advantage while you can.

The chef really loves what he does and you can taste it.

I don’t generally write reviews of restaurants I visit, but after reading the two awful reviews of Verbena BYOB from last night, I felt moved to offer up my experience.

My husband and I dined at Verbena not too long ago. I can say for certain that it was one of the great meals I’ve had in my life. I, too, have dined at Le Bernardin, and at Zahav. As well as myriad othe James Beard winning restaurants. Although I think it’s tacky and ridiculous to compare restaurants with completely different concepts, I can say that in terms of Value For Money, Verbena more than stacks up (P.S. Le Bernardin’s tasting menu is NOT similar in price, it’s $225 per person, not including wine , and Verbena is less than half of that). I found the portions to be very generous, bordering on overly so, considering the depth of flavor, and obvious care that goes into each meticulously thought out dish.

The scallops were huge, obviously dry-packed, and sweet. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that of all the guests that dined at Verbena on the same evening that you did, you were the only ones who received a “smelly” scallop. That sort of thing just doesn’t happen. If you were served bad seafood, surely someone else would have noticed. I find it strange that anyone would complain about a tail left on a shrimp, when a knife and fork are easily within reach on the table. I’m curious about what barn you grew up in that this was troublesome for you. I loved that my ribeye steak was trimmed of all the waste. It felt more like eating an incredibly flavorful filet, and I didn’t have a mess on my plate when I was finished. Dessert was sublime. Every dish was an interesting amalgamation of color, texture, and flavor. We found it masterfully done.

All of that said, I’m wondering if the chef made an effort to ameliorate your experience. Chef Morozin visits the table after the meal, and I find it difficult to believe that he didn’t try to make amends for his supposed “shortcomings”… It really sounds to me that you were looking for a bad time.

My husband has a far less “adventurous” palate than I do, and proclaimed it to be the best meal he had ever eaten. The service is impeccable. The staff is knowledgeable, warm, and very good at being at table when necessary.

Everyone, don’t let one grumpy, entitled person (or 2 in this case), color your decision to check out Verbena. It is a singular dining experience, and one not to be missed in this adorable suburb of Philadelphia.

I cannot believe a place like this exists right in Kennett Square! My husband and I planned a date night and chose Verbena Byob because it was new and had some good reviews, but it completely blew us out of the water. While it IS expensive - I cannot recommend the tastings enough. We chose 8 courses and it was the perfect amount of food. This type of menu is like eating and experiencing the artwork of the chef, and this art is created uniquely for you. Every course was interesting, new, and delicious. I would boldly claim that a smoked salmon dish early in our experience was equally good to anything we ate at a Michelin starred NYC restaurant. We also loved our cucumber-jalapeno intermezzo, a fantastic chicken course and a pickled pistachio dessert. While everything was good, not every course was perfection - there was some room for improvement, but I'm saying this while holding the experience up to the absolute highest standard of dining. It is clear that this Chef has talent and ideas. I can't wait to eat there again.

The best dinner out I’ve had in years. The food is perfectly, thoughtfully prepared and presented. The flavors were amazing and everything melted in your mouth. Small, cozy, intimate space (only 36 seats) with people who love food. We missed speaking with chef but he does come out and talk to his customers. The only other place I could compare this to would be dinner in France at a fine dining restaurant. This is a place where you sit and linger and enjoy every amazing bite.

My girlfriend and I dined at Verbena tonight for our anniversary. We were slightly apprehensive after reading some reviews as we appreciate high quality food. Verbena exceeded our expectations.

The service was great. Our waitress wore a mask the entire time. She was very attentive. The timing of the appetizer, entree and dessert were perfect.

The food was outstanding. We started with the cheese board which is unique in both presentation and flavor. My girlfriend ordered the scallops, potatoes and mushroom dish which was filled with flavor. The potatoes were cooked to perfection. I ordered the linguine, clams, and pesto. The base of the dish was a white wine sauce. The linguine is clearly homemade. I really enjoyed it. We finished with the bread pudding (unbelievable) and the baklava, which was huge and delicious. The portion sizes were more than enough - we both left very full.

If you are contemplating going here, GO. You pay for what you get - if you want to pay average prices then you will eat average food. Prices are reasonable and completely worth it. I look forward to going back and watching as Verbena flourishes over the next few years.

We celebrated our anniversary here with a wine we bought on our honeymoon. The chef paired an amazing three course meal to go with our wine. The portions were perfect, the staff was spot on, and the food was delicious! We'll be back!

This food was fantastic! We had the six course chef's tasting menu. It was filled with great flavors and ones that I've never really had before that made this a unique experience. The greenery was very fresh and crisp, the fish were fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back again and see what new items are on the menu!
