Carriage House Cafe & Grill

Looks like a family owned with an ancestral house used as business. I loved the food, ordered the cafe skillet, our server knew the menu. Accepts credit/debit. Bathroom was clean. Ample spacing between tables. The only down side i noticed is there are only few parking spaces. So if the place get full, you have to circle the neighborhood to find a spot and walk.

Atmosphere and food were amazing. You will love the cozy breakfast nook feeling.

This place is excellent. It is a completely rebuilt manor house from the 1800's. Good food, cheap, with a great menu.

Staff were friendly and courteous.

I got the burger and onion rings. They were great! And then I got some fries. They were OMFG wonderful. Hand made. Some sea salt. Perfect! Then I got a peanut butter pie, home made. That was excellent as well.

The decor is nice. It is beautiful on the inside and outside. It s a pain to get there, but well worth the effort.

It's always the best dining experience when I come to Vermont and we go out for breakfast/brunch! We end up ordering the same every time, but it is just sooo good! I love the bacon and Cheddar cheese omelet (which I order with rye bread, served with a thin layer of delicious butter), and the rest of my friends usually go for the Café Skillet, which is a mixture of eggs (cooked as you wish), home fries, Vermont Cheddar, bacon, ham, sausage and veggies, cooked deliciously (with toasts and butter too!). Prices are honestly good for the great quality you get there. I always repeat and will undoubtedly come back!

A super cute and homey kinda restaurant. The food was all made fresh and delicious, and the staff were personable and accommodating. Definitely a great place to stop in for a meal!

Everyone is always pleasant. They help me with deciding on my spice level, and it's always perfect! We have never had a bad experience here. It's our absolute favorite Thai restaurant. We have Thai places closer to us, but will gladly drive over an hour to come here. Thank you!!!

Good food in a fun atmosphere with friendly staff.

Outstanding...absolutely outstanding! Our entire family loves the Carriage House and we try to have as many meals as is possible there every time we're in Vermont. (Their hours make that really easy as they're open a lot!) The seafood chowder is delicious, as is every single other item we've had from their menu. The service is also fantastic. We're so happy to have discovered this jewel of a place in Derby and will be back again soon. :)

Update 2/1/23 - still a fantastic place, but sad to say the seafood chowder recipe seems to have changed. We'll still be there as often as we can, just probably not for the seafood chowder.

Food is delicious, service is super friendly and efficient!

I have lived up 91 from this place for some te and my friend introduced me to it. I think the building is so cool, the inside layout is entertaining with a bar in the middle of the room. Service is friendly and humorous, which makes the visit that much better. Our food was breakfast and is was a hefty helping fir a low price and was delicious without a doubt.
It's such a nice diamond in the ruff so to speak and others should direct people to it. Stop and enjoy the setting and food, you'll be satisfied, trust me.

Good food and good people, laid back atmosphere. The locals and staff joking with each other. They used to be open for dinner all week I wish they were still.

There breakfast is amazing, no matter what you get! You won't be disappointed!

The staff was all extremely friendly. The interior was cleanly, charming and tasteful with a cozy vibe. The food was great! Nothing over the top but what you do get is some classics that are deliciously perfected. The Reuben was out of this world. The steak and cheese was everything you would want. I must add that my daughter who is a very picky eater ate nearly her whole meal also. Not only was I impressed but I left feeling satisfied and full. I would recommend to anyone who loves simple lunch and dinner options. They do breakfast but I was not able to try anything. I'm sure it would be grade A like everything else. A must stop if you are in the area.

We love The Carriage House - excellent food at reasonable prices with the kindest staff around. This has become our go to dining place and we never have regretted it! It's a small place so when it gets busy, you will sometimes wait longer for your food but that's okay! 10/10 recommend!
