Shades Beach Park

We stopped by Shades Beach Park as a spot to see the 2024 solar eclipse. We were pleasantly surprised to see the nice beach area off of Lake Erie. The park has a few pavillion and facilities that you might be able to rent out and there are a few hiking trails in the area. The beach is covered with perfect rock skimming stones along the shore, but the beach itself is nice and sandy. This is a great spot to spend a few hours with the family doing outdoor activities.

Beautiful little beach. A great place to come to. You can find sea glass and swim! There's a playground and a pavilion for eating. Finally, there is a boat launch. This place has everything! A nice place to get away from the crowds of Presque Isle

Shades beach has always been a favorite. have been to many pinic/party’s and the grounds are always clean, very easy folks to deal with when renting a pavilion, if your looking to have a party of any type make sure you check this place out wish I would of got more pictures of the picnic area but today was just a drive thru checking out the lake

Shades Beach has come a long way. I remember as a kid the shoreline was covered with tons of dead fish and litter and the boat launch was nearly non existent. Poorly maintained and now it's all cleaned up. It has a much better boat launch area with nice synthetic decking for boat tie downs along with a couple nice wake break walls surrounding it. Much nicer and well taken care of now. Keep up the good work.

We LOVE this stunning beach with the playground on a nice grassy flat patch of ground with plenty of picnic areas and a pavilion and restrooms open during the summer. Warning for the beach area, it is a rockier beach! Fun to explore and take pictures but we prefer the softer cleaner sand on Presque Isle for the days we want to get in the water.

I recently moved to Harborcreek and discovered this park. So far, I've only had time to drive in, park, and experience the sights and sounds of Lake Erie and sunsets. That alone makes this a great place to visit. It's a gorgeous location! Next summer, I hope to take advantage of the picnic tables, pavilion, and hiking trails. There is good parking and restrooms.

Fantastic views if you climb in the bank at the top of the hill before your descend to the boat landing. Nice play ground and pavilion area as well at the opposite end of the parking lot. Public facilities available as well. We enjoyed this as an alternative to Presque Isle state park further away. Ample room for boat access and parking.

Nice quiet beach. It's pretty rocky but the kids enjoyed it. The waves were high so we spent the day on the water's edge but we hated to leave and can't wait to go back.

Not spot to enjoy the lake and look for cool rocks and beach glass.

This beach is small and sweet. Timeless feel and really beautiful driftwood arranged like art among the sand. Perfect to watch a sunset from or stop for a summer stroll whilst on route 5.

Beautiful little park and beach that are off the beaten path but easy to access.

The trail that goes on top of the cliff is amazing, but I wouldn't bring any children with me. The creek is other worldly and super intriguing.

I always forget about shades beach, but it is cool for being a lake erie beach.

Why do I love this place? Because I got engaged here! It was a lovely beach. Beautiful landscape and it was pretty tucked away which meant there was little traffic.

Me and my fiancee had our stag here Sunday. It raind all day but was such a blast money well spend 100%!!
