Freeland Diner

Looking for a place to stop for breakfast while traveling on route 81 in Pennsylvania. Found this little gem of a diner using Google Maps. It was a bit off the beaten track but turned out well worth the 14 minute detour up a mountain road. we were warmly greeted by a very friendly waitress. our drink order was served within a minute. we just ordered basic breakfast fare which came to the table very quickly. Everything was hot and well cooked and large portions .Pricing was more than reasonable . The waitress checked on us a few times and kept our coffee cups filled. I would very rarely Give a diner five stars but the freeland diner was exceptional. If you are in the area it is well worth the drive up the mountain to go to this little gem. As diners go, I give them my highest recommendation

This is a lovely diner at the top of the Mtn in Freeland. We walked in and were seated right away. A lot of breakfast selections to choose from. We had the HeMan breakfast which came with 3 eggs, choice of meat, 2 pancakes, home fries or hash browns, toast, juice and coffee or tea. I ordered it because I like having a variety of foods to eat. I ate as much as I could but did not finish it. It was a lot of food for a very reasonable price and I will get it again because it was extremely tasty! Everyone we came across was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The parking lot isnt very large so try and come at a time that it might not be so crowded.

Great breakfast! Coffee was good. Homefries were excellent. Bacon was just ok. Then I got it crispy, and it was SO GOOD. Lots of options. I would definitely come back. I would love to try their lunch. UPDATE, I tried lunch, and it is amazing, too. Soups are incredible. Burgers and sandwiches are amazing! Service is awesome as always.

I enjoy everything my group got. Amazing French onion soup. Very nice staff. Will definitely return.

This is a great little dinner in a little town but great food and desserts very reasonable prices. And the service is excellent. My wife and I really enjoyed eating there can't wait to get back there again.

Great food! Pleasant atmosphere! I'm not sure there was anything bad I could say about the place. Came for lunch. 4 in party and spent $46. Not bad! I had the grill cheese BLT and had a cup of their mushroom barley soup. Never had mushroom barley, always had beef barley. I thought i'd try something new. It was very delicious! Enough that I'd have another cup if I wasn't stuffed with what I did have. The grill cheese blt, I was expecting just cheese, melted in a blt. But no, it was a sandwich and a half grill cheese on one side and blt on the other. Very very good. (See picture)

Will definitely come back the next time we are in the area!

Parking is a little odd and not alot of it, but we just parked across the street while we were there.

First time there...menu is loaded..got dinner for two under $50.. good service with a smile...I will be back...

Great little local diner. Staff is really friendly. Food and prices are great. I stuffed myself with a huge breakfast! Wife had the same and couldn't finish it.

Really Great!!! This is a wonderful place to get an authentic diner experience: they have a huge menu = it's hard to imagine that someone wouldn't find food to order and enjoy here. Service was exceptional; staff was very friendly and welcoming, even if it's your first visit here. The food was very well-made, and came to the table promptly and hot (the way it should be!). Save room for dessert, too! I hope to get back here again - really looking forward to it!

Good food, friendly service, fair prices

Very nice. Very friendly people. Was there at 10:45a.m. and was hoping to get lunch (a club sandwich) but had to order breakfast because they weren't serving lunch yet. It was a good meal though.

First time here. Food was amazing, all homemade. Large portions so you get lunch for the next day. And you can't beat the prices. Wait staff was great, service was great. Will definitely be back.

Let's face it, of the three meals most people eat in a day, breakfast is the most difficult to do something incredible with. Like how good can scrambled eggs be...or how badly can you screw them up? The Freeland Diner really hit breakfast out of the park. I had a veggie omelette and it was that good. My wife had the sausage/eggs and loved it. Our server was extremely nice and made us feel welcomed. The prices were pretty reasonable. The diner has a 1970's vibe and the decor is probably original. We will go back again, I'm interested in trying it out for lunch!

had a great experience! we had a party of 9 and we’re able to be sat quickly even on a busy morning. our server angela was exquisite! attentive and wonderful at her job! thank you all for your good service

Food was delicious and staff was extremely friendly, especially our waitress Stephanie. Definitely will be back to try more of the big menu!

Brought my daughter here to get some dinner. I had crab cakes she had the "Donald Duck," chicken finger platter. Both were very good and I am VERY picky when it comes to crab cakes! Service was also good, even with the new waitress that was actually being trained unlike some restaurants that just send them out on there own. Also had the apple crumb pie! Was very good!
