What a hidden gem. We mostly stayed in the campground but it was wonderful. The sites were large an varied. For those that like them there were some more open one, I preferred the more shaded ones. They also had tent shelters on a handful of sites around me. Most people were well behaved and quite after hours which is always nice. The had brick fire places, quite large, in several sites. It spread out our site given where it was located.

What do I mean by hidden gem. It is hard to get to. Along a state route that is unpaved. As my GPS directed me there, I began to wonder if I was lost. I was not. It is a beautiful spot.

Great camp spot. We had space 15 which was near an open field (they had set up as a story walk that the kids loved) which felt roomy. Not too close to other spots. Not many trees around the space so it was sunny and nice. The lower number tent spaces had more trees around their sites. Coin showers (for hot water), only one main trail, Bear Hill, but was solid. Ended with a trip to the top of the fire tower. Drove to the floating bridge, then Bent Hill Brewery - very fun. We'll be back for sure.

We stayed as a large group of 26 at the group site. It easily fits 5-6 large tents. Nice and flat, has one lean-to. Facilities in the park slightly outdated but fine. Nice, quiet and far from light and noise pollution.

A Vermont State Park hidden gem! Come for a quick hike, beautiful views from the fire tower, a picnic, or if you need to host a gathering- rent the pavilion! There is camping onsite as well. The fire tower has a lookout guide inside so you can really get a great idea of what you're looking at!

Allis State Park is a gem and a treasure in our state park system. It is quiet, beautiful and secluded. It has a beautiful spot for picnics and a fun hiking trail. The fire tower is a very exciting climb with an amazing 360 degree view of central Vermont.

I was just at Allis for one night (not weekend) and it was lovely. Quiet, peaceful, immaculate, and beautiful with friendly staff. My site was open but many are in the woods. The Bear Hill trail took about 1 hour with some steep-ish parts (not recommended if you're unsteady on your feet). I love the small size of the campground and the fact that it's one of the earliest of VT State Parks.

We had a fun time at the storytelling event and were impressed with the actors! Maybe next time we'll venture up the fire tower.

Nice little spot! Never heard of it before seeing a hike review of Bear Hill trail. A short but surprisingly nice hike down and back up the hill. No views on the trail but a fire tower at the park more than makes up for it.

Very well maintained rustic campground. Great views from the fire tower. Very close to Baker Pond which is great for canoe and kayak access.

Short hike, up and down hills. Fabulous views from the top of the fire tower. Lots of grassy space for picnics and lawn games.

Very nice campground. Lots of privacy at the sites, clean facilities, friendly staff. Easy hike to a fire tower on the grounds. Be aware that the campground is somewhat remote with the nearest gas station roughly 10 minutes away. Cell service is spotty.

The ranger and the park volunteer are superb in welcoming guest. The park is extremely clean and it is very quiet. You can hear the trees blow in the wind and the comfort is the best I have experienced! This State Park is really a must for anyone seeking to relax and enjoy!

The park is small and away from the bigger towns in VT, but a quick 35 minute drive to Stowe. The park staff are friendly and helpful. Staying for the 4th of July weekend, my wife and I enjoyed a relatively quiet campsite that was clean and well-kept. We had the Apple lean to adjacent to one of the bathrooms. The bathrooms and coin-op showers were clean and stocked with tissue daily. One thing I will advise is that picking the Apple lean-to, being so close to the bathrooms, means you will have people drive up to your campsite often. However, this was no issue for us, as the campground is very stern about noise and it seems people got the memo. The Bear Hill loop trail was pleasant and starts/ends byba fire tower that gives great views of surrounding areas.

It was very remote and peaceful. We enjoyed the lookout from the firetower. There were great hiking trails and it wasn't too far to find a good place for swimming.
