The Outsiders Bar & Grill

Was passing through town and hungry. Wanted to find a local restaurant not an Arby’s, Taco Jones or McDonald’s. Passed all those joints and ventured downtown and stopped at Outsiders.

Ordered the classic w/bacon and it was one of the best burgers I have had for a long time. I came a little before lunch and as it got close to noon the place filled up and no wonder!!

Came to town for a wedding. This is the best place. Hosted our entire family multiple times for food and drinks! Friendly staff and great food.

Chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes with your choice of white or brown gravy with fresh veggies and Fish with fresh veggies and salad with French dressing was great. Service is always friendly and efficient.

Stellar service! Haven't had a dish yet that we didn't like. And, Tommy at the bar is very professional and a true delight! Their team works hard to make sure you have a great experience.

We were in Chanute for a relatives wedding, and we looked up local bars within the area. We stumbled upon The Outsiders, and within two days, we were back multiple times. The food is amazing, the staff is so sweet and accommodating to us. We had a large group every time we came in, and they were all so amazing to us. I couldn’t say enough great things about this place. Hoping to be back some time.

Great local bar. Delicious burgers (I recommend the Johscho) from local beef; the patty was so soft. The Ruben was also really good. Great whisky selection. Helpful bartender. Incredibly friendly owner. If I am ever in Iola again I will absolutely return.

The food was delicious. I ordered the cheese tortellini with grilled chicken, a side salad, and grilled veggies. I got more than I could possibly eat but it was so good, I tried anyway. Normally I think grilled veggies aren't great but these came in a delicious sauce. The side salad was small but it didn't need to be any bigger. I got to witness two strangers strike up a conversation and a surprise birthday. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly and the music wasn't too loud for normal conversation.

This place looks cool even before you step into it. The atmosphere inside is of the classic Hangout a slight reminder of Cheers with the bar atmosphere and friendliness of staff. I love the themed menus, and if you get bored of the menu wait four months and it will change. But I doubt you'll get bored I've tried so many things on their menus they know how to make a Burger 🍔 I am a burger guy! Every single one of their creations has been so tantalizing to my taste buds! The proportions are great with fair prices.

A true hidden gem! The Queso was great, good flavor and better consistency. Chicken fried chicken was crisp, juicy and well seasoned. Mashed potatoes were great. Green beans and fries needed some seasoning, but not bad. We'll be back for sure!

We had a great experience! We took 2 of our adult children and our youngest 2 kiddos. It had a great feel the minute you walk in! We ordered burgers, sandwiches, and chicken fried steak. Everything was so delicious and, Jessica, was a great server! I highly recommend heading over and checking them out!

I would totally be a regular here if I lived locally. Stopped in from out of town, immediately greeted by the nicest people. Food was fantastic! They know their bourbons and make one of the best old fashioned’s I’ve ever had. Great people. Great drinks. Great food. Look forward to our next trip because we will definitely stop here again.

Pretty good little joint. Stopped in for the night and they had a great selection of whiskey and the burgers were great. Next time we're in Chanute I'll stop again.

We love The Outsiders...the atmosphere is cozy, the food and drinks are GREAT and the service is TOP notch.

The food was amazing, you definitely get what you pay for at least with the chicken strips and the E.T. chicken sandwich. The food was great, service was kind and welcoming, & the atmosphere was full of energy and happiness.

There is so many things to say!!! The service was AMAZING! The food was FABULOUS!!! And the bar was GORGEOUS!! The mix of woodwork and exposed brick… and the murals on the wall and outside of the building were BEAUTIFUL!!! This a MUST to go to!!! We will definitely be coming back!

Great food, affordable pricing! The menu options are great, the staff is always friendly and kind. My husband and I have been going here since opening day and we have never been disappointed. Their restaurant is always clean and I have never gotten anything below satisfying food and customer service. This is definitely my family's go to restaurant in town!

I was very happy with the service. My server was great. For a small town. The selection of whisky was good. I had an old fashion. It was made right! But next time I will have to test them on Manhattan's. The food was good. I had the CFS with grilled veggies and twice mashed. The texture was good. The flavors were good. I was too full to ask about desserts. So I did not get one. Actually now sure if they do desserts. Over all I will go back. It is a good place to go too.
