Always a great place to overnight. Since the last time I was there, they added several more camper pads and new pedestals. It's even better now. Don't forget to call the city and register. It's still free but they want to know you are out there.

Love the Lamar park. The park is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the trees and flowers. I believe the park is looking better than ever.

Have always loved this park. The big yellow slide is a favorite of all the kids. It has basketball courts, a tennis court and sand volleyball. We have Birthday parties at the gazebo often. My girls have a blast every time we come!

Great place to camp for the night, and the park itself was really nice, had a walk path, an extensive playground, little streams and waterfalls, and a fish pond. The camping area is a grassy field across from the water park. Had flush toilets, water and some electric hook ups.

Got a good variety of equipment. Tennis, basketball, baseball. They have walking trails and porch style swings for adults to use while the kids play. Our family loves it.

Big, grassy, nicely kept, room for dogs or kids to play.
The water park is shut down, but other playgrounds, etc, are still in use.

Paved paths and mostly quiet roads run through.

A few random water spigots for dogs or emergencies. Picnic tables in covered pavilions.

Park wasn't busy but we were there during very hot weather.

I never tried a bathroom.

We stopped here for the night, passing through in our motorhome. This is a real jewel! Lovely park with walking paths, a large playground, a koi pond, and 50 amp hookup for rv FREE for first night.

The pond is Beatiful. There plenty of shade spots to sit & ponder in. The dog park is nice. My favorite thing about this park is the 75 cent showers.

Like Jana Taylor's review, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and available the overnight camping area was. I was also surprised that there was electrical hookup and water available. Thank you to the city for making this available for us travelers. I encourage everyone to visit local restaurants in the town and support this giving community.

I was in Lamar visiting in laws and going to the fair and had some time to spare so I took my two boys to the park. It was very clean and there were several fun things for the boys to climb and ride on. They have some old school fun playground rides that a lot of parks don't have anymore which made it kind of special. There are also a lot of good places to take photos and what appeared to be a pretty nice pool but it was closed. The boys had a good time and so did I so we all agree it's a pretty darn good park. Good job Lamar.

This park is awesome! We stopped by on the way to Arkansas, and thought about staying on route to Carthage, but glad we stopped. There are multiple things for children of all ages to do, as well as just a peaceful, well kept greenspace for adults. There are horse shoes, ball parks, and plenty of jungle gyms. Truly a perfect spot to stop by.
