Carr's Hardware

I run a guitar repair & restoration business a few blocks away from Carr’s Hardware. They’re awesome. Great prices, great people, great service. A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I needed some pegboard for my workshop and they just gave me a few big sheets of their old pegboard displays completely for free. Whenever they don’t have something I need on hand, they look it up and order it for me if they have access to it. And the next Thursday I come in, there it is.

Probably now more than ever, it’s important to put some thought into where you’re spending your money before you spend it. The bigger retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart become, the more money they have to burn their names into the back of your mind through advertising, and the harder it becomes for small mom and pop shops to create their own Walmart story (i.e. a small mom and pop shop growing into a retail giant themselves). If we never go out of our way to make sure that small mom and pop shops have the chance to earn our business, larger retailers slowly cannibalize, and eventually monopolize their entire niche. And the last whisper of competition gets stomped out by a merger between two mega corporations.

Carr’s Hardware may not have the budget to run thousands of ads, but they are the model business in Gloucester City. No one runs a small, local business better than them.

Great hardware store. Unfortunately, Google has their hours listed incorrectly. They close at 4 PM on weekdays not the 5 PM that comes up in Google Maps.

Old school hardware store. I really like what they have to offer, some unique stuff you can not find anywhere else. I love stores like these compared to big chain box stores

The Carr family has been AMAZING over the many years of service in town. You are always greeted like family! Their prices are even comparable to the big hardware stores, with much better service. They are worth the little extra to support a local family owned business. They even do a lot of community service!!! You wont regret checking out Carrs Hardware.

The people that run an own Carr's Hardware. Are the nicest people you will ever meet. They are extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell in that store. If you can't find what you need at Carr's Hardware then either it's not made or they may be out of it. If they are out of stock they will get it for you in a week or less. I been shopping in this Hardware store of over 35 years. An to get something from a Hardware store I will gladly drive 50 miles to get there. It is definitely worth the trip. Prices are very reasonable better then I have seen in other Hardware stores. An the other Hardware stores do not have the knowledge that the Carr family has for Hardware. Simply Awesome no place like this anywhere else.

Great local hardware store. We build furniture and they often have little things that save me a trip to Lowes or Depot. I'd also much rather give my money to them. Super friendly and helpful.

This store has everything; from the older hard to find items, to the newer items that everyone is looking for. If you need it, they will have it - or have it for you in the next order. The staff here will go above and beyond to help you and make your experience second to none. And yes, keys here are made on an older style grinder machine and may not always work on the first shot but, I've never had a problem bringing the bad key back and them grinding the second, good one out. Keep up the good work for this wonderful community!

Carr's is my go to hardware store, the family that owns and operates the store are knowledgeable on their products and are very helpful,
The store has that hometown feel and the staff seems to know all of their regular customers names which just adds to the stores appeal.
Plus they carry the products the big box stores don't have.

This is the most helpful hardware store I have ever been in. They all go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need! They even helped order fishing rods for my grandbabies! Thanks so much for all you do!

The Best Hardware Store in the area. Have been a customer for many years and am always greeted by the owners with a hello and a smile!! This is family owned by the, nicest and most congenial, people I know!!

Box hardware stores have large quantities but they're selection is actually limited. I find I actually have a better selection at Carr's. They may only have one or two, but unless you're a contactor that's usually all you need. And if you're not sure, Frank and his crew will find a way to make it work.
