Barrows House Inn & Restaurant

I’d like to say how nice the entire staff treated us. Everyone was friendly and always wearing a smile. This was our first time at Barrows and can’t wait to return. Thanks to everyone for making our visit special.

My family ate at the restaurant. The fried chicken meal was amazing. My mom and I both agreed that it was the BEST meal we’d eaten while vacationing in VT.

Only complaint- we ate in the dining room, but the music from the bar was still a bit loud/distracting. When you’re paying $$$ for top notch food, you expect a little quieter/more peaceful ambiance. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

The visit here was part of the holiday tour of Vermont Country Inns to support the local food bank. We did not stay the night here. This inn is a sister property to the Dorset Inn. Rooms feel more modern but each room has its own feel. They have a good number of rooms and did a great job decorating for the christmas holiday!

Possibly one of the best meals I've ever had! We were with a large party and food was being passed around, I got to try so many different things, it was all amazing!!

The Dorset area is our home away from home in the winter months as we love to ski Vermont. It was our first time in quite some time visiting during the summer. As always a wonderful experience! Having dinner at the Inn is a must for us when we visit. We recently brought friends with us and they were blown away by the cocktail list, delicious food and incredible service by our waitress Rachel! We were a party of nine having a good old time and she was fantastic to say the least. Chris the bartender clearly loves what he does, because the drinks he creates are fantastic! Our friends are still raving about their experience and we plan to return in August. Can't wait! Thank you for always taking such great care of us when we visit! See you soon! ~The Costanzos

I stayed here for my best friend's wedding. She had her rehearsal dinner and after party here as well. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They helped immediately when I asked and never made me feel like a burden. The food was amazing and the bartender made some great drinks. The room itself was expensive, but it was worth the breakfast and atmosphere. I great place to splurge for an event. I would love to visit again.

We loved our experience at the Barrows House Restaurant! The food and cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the ambiance was cozy, yet fun. The service was very friendly, and the setting is simply gorgeous. It was the dining highlight of the trip!

This was not my first visit. The Barrow's House staff is wonderful. The food is fantastic. I absolutely love this home. I'm not going to tell you which room I like best because I feel like it's my own personal refuge and I don't want to fight anybody for scheduling 😊. Just know that the whole facility is wonderful. You will not be disappointed.

Dining al fresco or sitting at the bar are great options here. Surprisingly large dining room. Get reservations for sure. Food is great all around. Inventive cocktails. Friendly staff.

This was a wonderful time! We visited as part of an overnight with our British car club and had a great experience. About 50 members joined the fun.
Our stay was arranged by a club member and we paid one price for the room, dinner the night of our arrival and breakfast the next day. The room was very comfortable with that New England B&B charm that most folks that have visited the region are familiar with. The dinner and breakfast were top notch. The grounds were in their full spring greenery. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We're looking forward to a return visit!

The Barrows House Inn has been a family favorite for many years, but especially during the height of the fall foliage. The suites we stayed in were relaxing, clean, and spacious. On the first day, we enjoyed an afternoon cocktail out on the lawn before heading over to the Dorsett Inn restaurant (common ownership) for a delightful dinner. The following day, we walked around Dorsett enjoying the colorful mountain views and went shopping in Manchester. If you're into fishing, don't miss the Orvis flagship store there. We highly recommend the Barrows House Inn for a relaxing get away!

Great place to stay and the resturant and food are excellent. We had our daughter's wedding at the Old Gray Barn also part of the Barrow's House and it was exceptional. Most of our guests stay on the Barrows/Dorset Inn properties and it worked out great. Colleen and Kaitlyn did a fantastic job working with my daughter and her husband coordinating the event. Totally recomend this venue.

This is a lovely little place to stay. The rooms were very nice and the landscaping is great. Pool, tennis courts, lawn games. It was great. Nice fire pit for the evenings too. The staff was more than accommodating. The stay includes breakfast at the Dorset Inn which is delightful.

Loved our stay. The friendliest reception, hotel, and restaurant staff. Such a beautiful fall getaway. The wood burning fires warmed the rooms and the patio and our pup was treated like a welcome guest with a bed, bowl, and treats waiting. The room was clean and newly updated, and coffee, tea, water, and snacks were always available in the common room. Thank you!

It is beautifully decorated inside. Food was amazing. The Shepard's Pie was quite delightful. Service was fast and friendly.

We just enjoyed a Friday night dinner at the beautiful Barrows House. The place was packed inside and out. We enjoyed incredible mixed drink and good selection of VT craft beers. The spring roll was tstyaly. Love the solid with local greens. The bufgers we're large fresh perfectly cooked. we loved the watermelon gazpacho. Even though is was very busy the kitchen.performed perfectly. The waitstaff was friendly accurate and timely. The kitchen is really cooking !!!

My Wife and I stayed at Barrows House Inn for two nights over Valentines Day weekend, 2015. Justin and the entire staff were very welcoming, and the newly remodeled restaurant was fantastic. Our room (Mockingbird #5) was very nicely appointed, and clean. Overall, we loved the balance of lodging that is updated and well cared-for while retaining its historical (and very cozy) ambiance.

Our stay was very memorable, and we will definitely be coming back!

Great place! The location and ambiance were perfect. We ended up booking a last minute room for an event and we were so happy with our stay. The staff here are excellent as well. We will be back!
