Macona BBQ

I got the brisket sandwich. It comes with coleslaw. Two coleslaws to choose from a mayo-based or vinegar-based. My new friend at the counter suggested mayo-based with brisket (vinegar-based for pork). It comes on a round roll. It had a good amount of sliced brisket. The sauce has a nice little zing to it. The brisket was tender and had very good meat/fat/rub ratios. Very good stop.

Delicious!!! No trip is complete w/o their BRISKET! It will simply change your life! I finally got to try the Burnt Ends Cheese Steak & OH MY GOODNESS, I'm soo glad I purchased TWO. I also tried their new “Steer and Schmear” which also wasn't a joke! I think it upgraded my pallette🤣the flavor was incredible

I have been hearing great things about Macona Bbq for awhile now and I am glad I finally tried them out. First off this isnt your typical traditional often delicious back yard bbq place. There is a fancy flair and flavoring to the rub here that I can't quite put my finger on but it is delicious whatever it is. I got a 2 meat platter which of course I chose ribs and brisket. The ribs are smoked exactly how I like them, NOT fall off the bone completely after one bite. The ribs had a little pull to them which is perfect. The smoke flavor is great and again, that rub, I could put it on any meat. The brisket was sliced thin and still had some flavorful fat on it. The fat adds flavor and I am glad they kept it on there. They give a mustard carolina type sauce and a bbq sauce if you choose to use them. I tasted them both and they are great but i am a purest so the sauces went into the fridge and I enjoyed the meats how they were. The sides are great too. I got a vinegar based slaw which i prefer over mayo bases. These guys dont know me but it's like they know me because they had sliced jalapenos in there which gave the slaw a nice spicy and tangy flavor profile. The beans aren't your average baked beans either. They'd e great with some rice or next to any meat! Last but not least, you can judge a bbq joint over corn bread. This corn bread was top notch! Dense, moist (yeah I said it), not crumbly, with bits of corn on the inside. Yeah this place gets a 5 out of 5 all day. Follow them on social media to see specials they have going on that you wont find at any bbq joint!

The aftermath of a burnt end cheese steak, tots and corn bread. It was really good, definitely on the heavy/rich side but great flavor and awesome roll! Crispy tasty tots too. Can't wait to try their other stuff.

I’m going to keep it as simple as I can. The food at Macona was delicious. The boyfriend and I were craving bbq. We have driven by numerous times and I suggested we check it out. Needless to say, we’ve should’ve come sooner. You won’t regret it.

I ordered the pulled pork which was very delicious. My wife ordered.the chicken which was tender and very well seasoned. Would definitely go again. Wanted the ribs but they were sold out for dinner.

So I travel a ton and try doordashing everything but I have to give it to this place. Not only was the cornbread the best I have had in the entire U.s, but the brisket was perfectly cooked and the beans had every ounce of flavor you want them to have.

The sausage is awesome and the sauces for everything are fantastic.

For a delivered meal this sets a new tone for delicious. I cannot wait to come in and try some more things off the menu.

We showed up just in time. They put up the 'sold out' sign as we were eating. They did run out of ribs, but the brisket was enough for me. It was so tender with an incredible crust to it. The fries were not what you'd expect. They were mixed with a few different spices which gave them a great flavor. The pieces I tried of the pulled pork didn't have much flavor. Luckily the sweet BBQ sauce was on point. Mixing it with the spicy vinegar made it even better too. I would definitely go back. It's a great alternative to the chains. The place is small. I wouldn't expect to always get a table. Oh, the cornbread was great too!

Everything is really delicious! Maybe the best BBQ I’ve had. The brisket and ribs are my personal favorites.

This food was unbelievable! We did catering for Mothers day and the sausage, ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and coleslaw were out of this world. They gave three bottles of sauce with our order traditional BBQ sauce, mustard sauce, and an Alabama white sauce "liquid crack." The white sauce was so good and the family was grabbing at it the whole meal. I highly recommend ordering from them.

Love this place. The corn bread, sausage, ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, BURNT END CHEESESTEAK- all unbelievable!! So much flavor. Also the dipping sauces are delicious. So happy I live close by to this restaurant. I’ve had take out a few times and it’s always been amazing.

This joint puts out awesome food in a simple manner. Their pulled pork gets a different rub every so often to add unique flavors to your palate. You must get the cornbread. And the staff are super chill and they listen to the customer. I love that this is in my town.

One of my favorite BBQ places in the area. Atmosphere is great, food tastes awesome. Very friendly owner and employees who care about their meals. I prefer that they don't cook in the sauce so you can actually taste the bark and smoke flavor. Meat is always tender and they're generous about portion sizes on the platters. Get the Mac & Cheese entree with the meat in it. Excellent.

Excellent barbecue. I had the half rack of Caribbean-style ribs... so good. Delicious crispy goodness on the outside and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. It didn't need any sauce but I tried the three that they had just to sample them. The platter came with two sides and wonderful corn bread. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice job, folks

Had the pulled pork and brisket with mashed potatoes and deviled eggs. All the food was really great along with their sauces. We got to try a test run of mac and cheese as well which was on point. Each meat option has it's own flavor which rotates, so you can always get something new. The owners were super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend for eat in or take out!

We just had your ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken jerk sausage for our cast party. The food was absolutely amazing. There wasn’t a morsel left -can’t get much higher praise than that! We will definitely be stopping in for your delicious food more often.

Unlike some of the “local guides” who reviewed this restaurant, I actually went in bought and paid for my meal. Had they done so, they would have the same experience that I did.

A barbecue restaurant is supposed to be a little on the louder and have some edge. On that front, Macona nails it. The decor was done by a local artist and depicts the owning family’s journey—starting out as newlyweds and welcoming a young son.

The staff, including the owners, are super accommodating and friendly. There is not one person who does NOT have a smile working there. Every dish is hand prepared. They even have vegetarian and vegan options so everyone can enjoy it. The food is extremely tasty, it’s hot, and has flavor like you would not believe!

I happen to visit the shop twice. On one night where they had a difficult customer, the staff handled it perfectly! They really made sure the rest of us were not disturbed by a local knucklehead who fashioned himself as if he expected white table cloth dining. They ever took care of the knucklehead without offending him or even giving him so much as a very well deserved eye roll.

This young family runs a great business and will be my go-to for take out and catering. It’s a runaway hit of a place.

Outstanding local find. I tried the pastrami special and it was delicious. If you like a small and local eatery with a cool twist on each dish then go here! I suggest you follow their Instagram page for daily photo updates of all the specials.

Had the 5 different meats and they were all super awesome. Brisket was phenomenal. Chef even came out to ask how it was. Byobas well. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes true BBQ, which is hard to find on the east coast.
