High Point Trailhead

While camped at Magazine Mountain State Park in mid December, we hiked up at sunset and the views are terrific with the trees bare!
Easy hike for most.
Good trail signage. Lots of options for parking and choosing distances you’d like to hike in this park.

The TrailHead is easily accessible by car/Rv and is located next to the camping area. Its available for day use along with accessibility parking. The hike is less than 20mins ,can be done by kids as well. People visit here for the Highest point Marker. If you arrive here by 2pm ,then can cover Coves Lake,Arkansas Grand Canyon within same day. Not much to spend time here other than high point marker. Not much of view points as well in the highest point. Have happy hiking.

Quick, easy walk up. When you get to the fork with no sign, go left. Registery book and sign at the top. There are lots of wildflowers today💜. Saw 0 bears, a couple deer, and a lot of squirrels ... would recommend!

Easy hike. The high point features a sign indicating the elevation, but with the trees, there's no view. You can make the trail a little longer if you continue to the right towards "campground" and then loop around on the "self guided trail." Pretty sights along the trail, regardless of no view at the top.

Limited parking at this trailhead. 0.4 miles to the top and there are no markings. When you get to the top of the trail take a left and in ~12 meters you'll get to the plaque.

Easy mild, great to start off here to prepare for the larger trails. Get cardio going. Trail has slight incline, but nothing to hard! Watch your step for rocks and roots! The wild flowers are beautiful. You sign a book at the top! Interesting way to show your visit!

Rowdy and I had a wonderful time at Mt. Magazine near Paris, AR. We went walking a mile or 2 every day. Need time away from the city! Weren't to many people during the week and it was still early spring and quite cool at night. Love this place!

A nice easy half-mile climb to Arkansas's highest point. Nothing particularly difficult. Park in the nearby lot and go to the monument shaped just like Arkansas (with the marker geographically positioned). Stop here if you can.

Beautiful area. Only thing I may have changed is at one point the trail spits off, you son realize it leads to no where and can see your way back to where you were but it could maybe be marked which way to go.

Enjoyed exploring Mount Magazine. The trail to the summit is not marked well and forks off in two directions. We took the wrong trail and ended up at some sort of treatment plant on the grounds. We finally found the correct trail and all was well. Short but fun hike!

Nice short hike to the highest point in Arkansas. From our campsite it was about 1.5 miles and 250 of elevation climb. Took two Labrador Retrievers on leash and they loved it.

Absolutely the best place to stop in Arkansas and the highest Moutsin peak. Hiking animals Eagles snd this is the cleast visitor center snd kindest zi have ever stopped at. Make it a place to visit.

Amazing feeling being "on top of the world" for Arkansas that is. Though you can't see as much from here as you can the cabins or the lodge, it certainly feels higher!
