J's BBQ

Stopped by J’s back in November 2023. My cousin, who went to college in Ripon, highly recommended we eat here. The special for the week was brisket tacos. I’m not kidding when I say it might have been the best meal I’ve ever had. I know it’s not a regular menu item but it should be. One of the owners even checked in with us at the end of the night to see how our experience was. Amazing food and wonderful passionate people! If you’re in Ripon you absolutely need to stop at J’s BBQ.

This was our first time trying J's and it didn't let us down. They were very helpful with the menu explaining the options. When I asked about the Cole slaw they offered a sample. The brisket had a great "crust" with lots of peppery flavor. Was pretty lean which I like. Cole slaw didn't have dairy and uses a mustard sauce which I'm a big fan of. Didn't try the beans or sauces so can't comment there.

Excellent, after graduation lunch was amazing! Staff was very curtious and attentive. Brisket had a delicious crust. Mac-n-cheese was the best.

Great food and great customer service! The minute we walked in we were greeted with a smile. The ordering process was easy everything was explained to us. The atmosphere was pleasant and enjoyable. The food was amazing and had great flavor. I will recommend this place to family and friends. We will be back. I recommend trying a little of everything. You won't disappointed!!🙂❤

I stopped in here to J's BBQ on a work visit to Ripon on the advice of this Google review.. It did not disappoint ! I would say one of the best BBQ's I've ever had ! Super tender meat with great bark, some unique, flavorful sauces - so GOOD !

Amazing brisket! Variety of sandwich options, they have wings, tacos, fish and other things as specials sometimes. The Mac n cheese is my favorite side!! We usually share a lb. of brisket as a family of with a variety of sides. Sometimes we switch it up.

A delicious and innovative menu, friendly staff and owners. Really enjoyed my first time there and will be back. Appreciated the local drink selection, and unique menu.

The staff is friendly and helpful and the establishment is very clean and welcoming. That being said, let's get to the food! I ordered the brisket (wet) and as soon as I tasted it I went to my BBQ happy place. Let's face it. Wisconsin isn't known for it's good taste in BBQ but J's.... They get it! The bark was perfect! It just exploded with flavor every single bite. The brisket melted in your mouth and was marbled beautifully. Not too fatty, not too lean. I had some sauces on the side (you know, just in case) and never touched a single one. When sauce would be an insult to the meat, THAT is great BBQ! The Mac and Cheese and fried pickles were excellent too. If you appreciate great BBQ check out J's.

This was excellent. I hope the people in Ripon take advantage of this restaurant. I was very impressed with the authenticity of the brisket to the brisket I am used to in Texas. The sides were excellent. The sauces were great. The owner and staff were very friendly. It's great to know when I come to Ripon for a visit I can still get some great Texas brisket!

OMG!!! Sooooo good! I can't stop thinking about your burnt ends, french fries, and bbq sauce!!! 🤤🤤🤤 The staff here are very helpful and kind. They are appreciative of you and will thank you for stopping in if it is your first time especially. We live in Oshkosh and will travel to eat this deliciousness!!

The owners and atmosphere are amazing! I would definitely recommend this ,establishment. The food is amazing, especially the mac and cheese! The brisket is smoked to perfection and the employees go above and beyond to satisfy the customers. I personally prefer the Loaded options. I'm glad to see this establishment back in town! I've missed it! If you haven't tried J's you're missing out!

Met a few friends from high school there today and the food was all amazing! The brisket was so tender and Mac n Cheese really creamy. Now for the beans, absolutely the best I have ever had!

As a pulled pork and brisket afficionado I can honestly say that this place is outstanding. Our group had The Wisconsin pulled pork and brisket along with sides. Fantastic food. Tender, full of flavor and generous. Good sauce too. The mac n cheese was delish. Definite recommendation. Will be back to enjoy this place again.

My husband and I went to J's for lunch with our friends; it was our first time going there. The food was really good. We shared since we weren't sure what to get and I wasn't feeling well, and the medium potatoes was a lot of potatoes. Good portions, good pricing, and good service. I would definitely go back.

What can I say about this Little hidden gem in Ripon Wisconsin. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The brisket and pulled pork was very well seasoned very juicy and we had an Opportunity to try some burnt ends very delicious. Also had the opportunity of meeting one of the owners very friendly. I have a feeling that we will be coming back more often. My only question is the patio outside is it dog friendly. Because I have to say if it is, it will definitely earn some cool points. Amazing food!!!The BBQ pork was so good, best I have had in forever. And I am not a huge fan of Mac and cheese, but theirs was so good! Even my son who never eats Mac and cheese said it was fantastic! The fries were great too! Service was also exceptional, super friendly. We will definitely be back!

GREAT food and kind, awesome owners. Can't beat the Mac and cheese and brisket 😋
