My son got married there on May 20th it was really a beautiful venue. The staff was easy to work with and very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Also an interesting historical site. Lots of information. Fun place for all ages.

This was a very nice fort, trappers outpost, and Indian village. There were several buildings to take a look inside and a guided tour of the fort. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She was definitely the highlight of the visit and painted a picture of how life as a trapper would have been. You can touch the items in the buildings, and it is a great place to learn for kids.

This a great experience covering the early fur trade days. They have recreated fort on orginal site, trapper cabin, great history on logging and fur trapping/trading. BONUS, If you visit in late July, they have a annual Rendezvous. GREAT FAMILY FUN. People dressed in period clothing, living in tents, cooking on open fires. Black powder shooting, axe throwing, canon fire demonstration. There's food, vendors selling local wares, blacksmiths. Great time

A wonderful place to get lost in time with the tour of the forts and the native village.
I understand that they are going to be upgrading the tour with more information in fun ways.
I recommend seeing it and if you've already seen it, see it again.

We took the tour and had such a great time. It was very interesting to see trapping and trading up close and get a tour from characters who immersed us in the history. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something fun to do with the family.

The Christmas celebration here was amazing! Horses, wagon rides through the woods, frosty, Santa, live music, campfire, home cooked soups, best hot apple cider, the list goes on! Kids even got to shop on their own at the elf house for gifts. Everyone here was kind and welcoming. We will definitely be making this an annual tradition.

An historically accurate portrayal of life in an early 19th century frontier trading post. Structures are built on the original locations with correct period style and technique, outstanding visitor center with a nice gift shop. Tour guides are in character in period dress.

It was a fun adventure to travel back to 1804 and the Voyageurs and Ojibway. If you visit in summer don't forget to put on some bug spray, the mosquitoes will get you if you don't.

It was interesting and fun. Everyone there went out of their way to explain to my family the history and how to do things (like bake bread in a clay oven or load and shoot a musket or throwing a tomahawk at a block of wood)
