Dreamland BBQ

While stopping for lunch on our way through Montgomery AL on 1/23/2024, a local recommended Dreamland BBQ to us at 12 W Jefferson St. This restaurant is in an exceptionally well rehabilitated industrial building in downtown Montgomery. It has an old, woody pub feel to it. The restrooms are clean and modern. The food was AMAZING! I had the BBQ plate that included ribs, sausage and rib tips with sides of mac & cheese and creamy coleslaw. My vegetarian wife had their big baked potato with butter and cheese. AKA, the BBQ Baker. We shared an appetizer of deep fried and breaded FRESH okra and a banana pudding dessert. Look at the pic. This stuff is the best! Our server, Zach, was a true professional and a great conversationalist. He kept our drinks full and he introduced us to the owner. It was Zach who recommended the BBQ plate to me as this was my first time to Montgomery and Dreamland BBQ. Our total check was $37 and after taxes and tip was $48. This was the best and tastiest food deal we had all week while cruising through Alabama and Mississippi before heading back to Ohio. Dreamland BBQ in Montgomery is a MUST DO. Highly recommend!!!

Got to love restaurants that flip warehouses. The exposed brick makes the difference. Great look on the inside. Phenomenal service. I had fried okra for an appetizer and a pulled pork sandwich for an entree. My colleague gave me half her burger and it was really good. Great prices and military discount too.

The food was incredible. I had the traditional sandwich with the works (slaw,pickles,&sauce) Loved the tangy BBQ sauce;served on the side in a cup, with just the right amount of zing, so yummy! The regular sandwich is huge, glad they had a roll of paper towels and a fork to haul into your mouth. The slaw was perfect not too saucy which I loved! The pickles were incredible, like I have never had before, crispy,crunchy, cut thick slices with a touch of heat or was that the BbQ sauce, whichever they complemented each other like best friends! Franchezka my server was friendly, and attentive. Service was fast. I was in and out in about 40 minutes for lunch and the place was busy .

This was a lovely experience here. I love eating local wherever I visit a new city. We purchased a nacho appetizer which was cool.. I am not the biggest fan of the bbq sauce as I like mine thicker but it has a good taste. We both purchased the 3 meat plate with smoked sausage, pulled pork, and rib tips. All meats tasted really good.
My sides were Mac and cheese and fries and my guest was baked beans and Mac and cheese. The sides were pretty ok and the food came out quickly. Our waitress was super kind and so sweet! Around ~$55 spent altogether. Cool place for a night out!

First time to Dreamland BBQ. We tried it for a date lunch in December. The food did not disappoint. The BBQ sauce is tangy and flavorful. The baked potato was cooked perfectly and so filling, and it was exactly what I was craving that day. My BF was so enthralled with his meal before he realized it. He ate it all. We will definitely be back.

Great value, super fast service, and solid BBQ. The meat was tender and the sauce was delicious. I also loved trying the banana pudding.
I would go for the coleslaw over the mac & cheese, but really everything was delicious. It wasn’t busy at all on a Tuesday night.

Food was so bomb and FAST!! I’m talking like 3 minutes from when we ordered to the food on our table. Atmosphere was fun but not too wild and service was outstanding.

Our server was not pleasant. I will never return. She could careless if we ate their or not. The food was excellent and the decor and restrooms were awesome.

We had a BIG group of 16 people and they were able to accommodate us!

The AC is really cold inside so bring a jacket even if it is hot outside.

Their food is really good and my favorite was the fried Okra (soooo good)!!!

This is one of our favorite places to stop in Montgomery. Great food and service. Cool vibe. The BBQ baked potato is great.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! We got seated right away, our server made multiple great suggestions at our request and even laughed at my inadvertent dad joke (sorry about that). The atmosphere was very relaxed. Our meal came out right away and it was awesome! It made me quickly forget about counting calories

On point... must try... ribs don't even need sauce... service is great and was super fast... 10 star bbq!!! Full rack and big daddy chips in pics... yummmmm

Very glad I stopped by to see for myself if the good reviews were on target... they definitely are! Very tasty food, friendly service and fun atmosphere with 70's and 80's music plus plenty of TV's for sports. I'm a BBQ nut and this place completely satisfied me.

I’ve eaten here many times! It’s my favorite location by far compared to Tuscaloosa (disgusting) and Birmingham. However, our latest visit was horrible! My family and I sat there 15-20 minutes before someone recognized we were there and offered to get our drinks until they found who our server actually was. Our server was found and finally came to take our order. Once she brought the food, she didn’t return!! I literally had to get up to place an additional order with another server and ask for our ticket from the hostess!! I had to find another server to give my kids refills! Our server literally never came back!!!! My advice is to do better and acknowledge all paying patrons the same!

Great service and atmosphere! We had a large party with a bunch of soccer children. Our server did amazing taking care of all our needs! The food was delicious as well. We'll definitely come back.

This is a MUST GO if you are in Montgomery. The food is outstanding - everything that you'd want from a Southern BBQ joint. Superb location as well.

Just go ... stop the endless googling of BBQ joints, and go to Dreamland.

We stopped here for dinner after visiting the Legacy Museum. It was within walking distance of the museum. We got there and it was very busy with a short wait. We were told twenty minutes but it was less than ten to get seated. The staff were all very friendly, prompt and attentive to us even with how busy they were. Our food was hot and delicious. The portions were quite big for the price. We will definitely be back if we visit Montgomery again.

The food is incredible and the servers are FANTASTIC. I first went with a large group of people and naturally expected a long wait time but our server knocked it out of the park and got us our food and drinks super quickly. She was so kind and efficient. Gave great beer and food recommendations. Has one of the best beer selections in town (it’s super hard to find sours elsewhere)

Recommend the three meat plate or the big daddy sandwich with all the fixins (slaw, pickles and sauce on it)

We were passing through around lunchtime between thunderstorms and boy oh boy are we happy we did so. We're in an RV.. Parking was easy and found two curbside parking spots easily. We ordered take-out because we have a dog. We ordered two BBQ big daddy sandwiches, the works. The meat was so soft and tasty. The BBQ sauce came on the side. Great idea. It was light yet had a good kick. The coleslaw was fresh and not sweet. The bun soft. Id stop through again. One more thing.. The woman who took my order at the bar was so friendly. I kept messing up my order because I couldn't decide what I wanted.
