Just a neat little place serving good food at a great price! I loved the tater and the burrito was just right! Awesome place to grab a snack! Also, loved the smile on the other side of the window!

I’ve been eating here for close to five years now. Mostly the delicious cheeseburgers. I ate here again today and realized that I’ve never had a bad meal there in all this time. It’s the freshness. Which is always worth the wait. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience, Was in town recently ate at the shack several times had the best burrito with beans in it. Was so delicious and fresh! My wife had "the works" and she was very impressed with the taste and quality
I also had the Famous Texas Tater fully loaded and let me tell ya nothing in Alpine beats it. I went back a few times while visiting the area...

We had finished hiking in Big Bend and wanted a good burger. Google Maps listed this place, so we gave it a try. We are glad we did! The Shack Burger was amazing! Crinkle cut fries and tater tots were outstanding! Cutest place with the sweetest atmosphere!

Out of all of the independent food stops in Alpine; this one is great. Like some of the other reviews stated; you don't get very large servings. But! You're also not paying all that much. It's way better than some of the places in town where you pay twice what this place charges and get the same small servings

Absolutely wonderful tater! Love the Texas tater or the customizable tater. Butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, grilled mushrooms and onions my fave! Very good priced for the size of food. No indoor seating but some outdoor seating and a drive thru. Lots of parking so great for tailgating!

(Warning: Young adults from Central Florida in for a vacation) This really is a ‘snack shack’ with a collection of fun food such as NACHOS, SANDWICHES, ICE CREAM, AND MORE. Prices are low… great little place to stop by quickly if you’re hungry. We came here when we saw photos of their TEXAS TATERS and had to get one. It’s a CUSTOMIZABLE BAKED POTATO WHICH YOU CAN LOAD (like… really load) with toppings LIKE MUSHROOMS, BROCCOLI, JALAPENOS… in addition to all the typical Baked Potato goodies. We also took a trio of Tacos. The Tacos weren’t impressive- very simple and not really authentic. There’s NO PLACE TO DINE INSIDE however there’s a couple of tables under the shade out front. Lean bathrooms were on the side of the building.

Great tacos. Very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Sat outside on vinyl covered picnic tables. Nice touch.

I’ve been here many times and never had a bad experience. Keep up the great work and we will keep coming back.
