Central Restaurant

This is a must visit in Montgomery! We were seated immediately and the service was outstanding! They have a good selection of beers on tap. We had the pimento cheese, wedge salad, and Spanish octopus. The pimento cheese was incredible, especially with the crackers. The house salad dressing, I’d just like to bottle that and take some home! The Spanish octopus was cooked to perfection! Not even close to overcook d and absolutely delicious. Again, this is a must go to place!

The food there is good, usually with a different kick or variant spice application. I loved the ambiance. It gives the vibe of an upscale restaurant without taking itself too seriously. The staff were very helpful, attentive, and respectful. While parking might be tricky in downtown Montgomery, it was worth it to dine in at central restaurant.

Wow the food was absolutely delicious and the service is always five star. Portion were hearty and fitting for the price. You have a view of the chefs making the food and the ambiance is quite relaxing and even romantic. Usually I dine with Nenlay (who is fabulous!!), but my server, Josh did a great job giving some excellent recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

One of our absolute favorites!! The rotating menu is perfection so I have only eaten the same thing once in the 20 or so times I have dined here. And Chef Jason is so talented in his creations and executions. Everything is always so balanced. Please save room for dessert as Chef Marie’s creations are magazine worthy, truly!! So lucky to have this amazing place in town.

Truly one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, and I have traveled all over the world. And yes, I'm surprised this is in Montgomery, where I occasionally travel for work and always make sure to hit Central.
First, the cocktail list is amazing. I've tried half of it and not one dud. Next, maybe the best single dish -- gojuchang lamb ribs. It's truly a top-five all-time dish. My only complaint is that it's not a whole entree.
The rest of the menu is amazing, too, from steaks to chicken to pasta to seafood. I have been here many times and have been repeatedly impressed to where I'm writing a review. Prices are fair given the quality. Other folks who also travel the U.S. (and world) agree Central is jaw-droppingly phenomenal. If you are in Montgomery, COME HERE! They have bar seating, but regular seating very well may need a reservation.

We had a wonderful experience at Central for dinner last night. Beautiful restaurant, romantic ambience. Outstanding food! Excellent service. We reserved a booth ahead of time, very comfortable. Extensive drink menu-- at reasonable prices-- of cocktails, wine, and beer. Highly recommend!

Shania was an awesome waitress! All the food was excellent and the employees were so helpful and friendly. The manager even checked on us and was very attentive.

Central has been my Montgomery favourite for a year now, but I only remembered to write a review just now. My most recent visit was for a conference and we were wonderfully served by Brette on a Thursday night. Her moscato recommendation pretty much had us in love. We got the gochujang lamb for the appetizer and the sunday sauce + steak for the mains. The atmosphere was very warm and spacious, we’ll be back very soon! Thanks Brette for an amazing night.

It was such an amazing dinner in a beautiful atmosphere. I can totally see why it's the highest rated restaurant in Montgomery. I had bookmarked a few must see places before leaving Tampa. This was one of them. The five star reviews are all correct in my opinion. It was the best dinner experience I had the entire trip.

The service was awesome! The hostess was so nice to us. We didn't have reservations, but we were early enough to get a nice table away from foot traffic. She got us all settled comfortably right away. Taemon was there shortly after to take our drink orders. He was very professional & attentive, and had great recommendations. He brought out the mocktails menu for me. The Pineapple Apricot Lime Punch was exactly what I needed after a long day of exploring the city. It was delicious, tart and refreshing.

I initially had my mind set on getting the Gochujang Rubbed Lamb Ribs and sharing appetizers with my brother. I ended up deviating from the original plan once I saw the fish options. The Wood Fired Gulf Catch of the day was redfish. It was served over a seasonal blend of field peas, collard greens, and potlicker jus. The succotash blend was just as delicious and tasty as it sounds. The fish was pan fried perfectly, and crispy on top. I ate every bit of it. I refrained from licking the potlicker jus off the plate (but I was tempted). My brother had the Bearnaise Crusted King Ora Salmon. It was equally as good, and served over roasted Lyonnaise potatoes and green bean almondine with a red chimichurri sauce. I tasted it, and it was another amazing dish. Again, cooked perfectly but this one was topped with the tastiest bearnaise sauce that just complimented everything on the plate. He loved it! We would have ordered dessert, and believe me when I say that I really wanted to do just that. But, we had eaten a lot of sweets that day so we passed on the dessert menu.

I do hope to revisit this spot in the near future with my husband. I think he would like it very much. The booth seating looked very comfortable for couples. The ambiance is sophisticated, yet not pretentious on a weeknight. Some people were dressed casually, and others were dressed for a night out. The main entrance is on Coosa Street, with plenty of metered parking that is free after 5pm and all weekend long. I believe you can enter the bar area from The Alley. The restaurant opens at 5:30pm, and it's closed on Sunday and Monday. It's right across the street from SpringHill Suites and the Trilogy Hotel. It's very close to the Riverwalk Stadium and Legacy Museum as well. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you want booth seating, or just pop in early on a weeknight like we did. It was a very memorable visit!

Blown away by the quality and the atmosphere of this place. Located on a vibrant block near the riverfront, Central is beautifully decorated to create a cozy and upscale vibe, further enhanced by the amazing service.

The menu has a ton of variety and every dish we tried was a true flavor bomb. The filet Mignon was one of the best cuts of meat I’ve had in a long time

The atmosphere is upscale and very nice flair to downtown Montgomery! The my take reservations which is so nice and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The food and drinks were amazing! The service was excellent and we look forward to returning very soon.

My wife and I love to try new places. We made reservations at Central to celebrate her birthday and a late Valentine's Day. We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated. Our server was Laura. She was very friendly and helped us with selections of wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. She was excellent in helping us decide.

The pimento cheese / flatbread appetizer was great. Very healthly portions of pimento cheese and it was like I had never had. It had incredible, bold flavor. My wife had the short ribs and I had the New York strip. This was all complimented with wedge sald that had a wonderful dressing. The short ribs were melt in your mouth and over a bed of tasty grits. The strip was a perfect medium and one of the best I have had. It was over a bed of cheese mashed potatoes. For dessert we had the chocolate marquise and it was sweet and delectable.

The restaurant atmosphere was warm and rustic. The server was great. The meal was one of the best I have ever had. It certainly is a special occasion restaurant for us but we will be back. The menu will change in March so we will be back to try more items very soon!

Such a lovely place to dine! Every time I have been it’s been a great experience. The food is what dreams are made of - especially the short rib and mile high meringue pie! The servers have always been friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The ambience is beautiful as well. I always look forward to dining here!

Really great food and service. Our server had great tips about historical and cultural sites to see. She was super friendly. Our family had the lettuce blue cheese salad, amazing lamb ribs, scallops, duck and salmon. The desserts were also great.

I attended a party in one of the private rooms. We had our own bar in the room and a sit down plated dinner. I've had many banquet dinners, but none as good as this one. The staff was competent and friendly and the event was well-managed.

The room had a private patio/ balcony and it was great. It was a family-friendly party and the kids were able to play without bothering restaurant patrons. Everyone from 1-yr-olds to grandparents had an enjoyable time.

That was the most amazing food that i ever had!! lamb was perfectly cooked and taste was much more amazing with the combination woth the sauce and the sides!!!
oh and almond cheesecake!!! it was amazing!! u can get coconut flavor in it, sweet but light!! All respects to the chef!! And our waiter Taeman was fantastic too! I listened his recommendation and you guys definitely should listen him too!! Thank you guys!!🫶🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The food was amazing! We will definitely be back! I wish I would had gotten the name of our waiter to add to this review to brag on him but he went beyond GREAT service. Made sure we had everything to our liking, even taking photos for us! To add he told us we wouldn’t regret getting the steaks and BOY WAS HE RIGHT! Can’t wait to come back soon.

This fabulous establishment was very polite and accommodating for me and my family. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the great food, music, and service. I would definitely recommend visiting this spot if you live in the area or just passing through.

The food here was really good! Everything we tried was great! I had the duck which was very flavorful along with the ribs as an appetizer. Everything my group had at our table was presented so well and tasted just as good as it looked. Thanks to our waiter Kiki who made our dinner that much better.

Great atmosphere with terrific food and service. Kiki our server was like going out with your best friend-she was on top of things and made great recommendations. Cocktails were great and we liked the wine selection, but this is really a cocktail or beer haus. We went for sides and a salad for our meal as lunch had been big. Potatoes bravas and brussel sprouts were our favorites, but the grits were also amazing. We had vindaloo ravioli as a shared entree and was delicious and spicy 🔥 as advertised. Dessert like the mile high pie were also special.
