Encore Coffee Cafe

I love historic buildings with the unique details we don't see in today's architecture. I was expecting a "lunch-type" fair with soup, sandwiches, and salads, and that is what I found on the menu. I've been twice, ordered something different both times and enjoyed both meals. I also appreciate the gift store next door that I can wander around in while my food is being prepared.

I doubt I’ve had better coffee than this coffee shop. I’m dead serious. I live in Mpls and have traveled across the country - this place is a GEM. I’m not you’re average coffee drinker, I’ve grown up on homemade espresso drinks and my father roasts his own beans.
I love the flavor of this coffee. The espresso was strong but but bitter, the almond milk the was steamed to perfection. I love the Victorian era bathroom and decor too - so novel. If you’re passing through this place is a MUST-STOP, if you live in St James, I envy you. You don’t know what you have! Places like this are rare!

I live 2 hours away but I once lived in St. James for 8 months... I absolutely LOVE this cafe! Best food and treats. And great coffee.
I often ate their 3-4 x a week.
I came to visit today to pick up homemade Christmas cookies!! And ate my favorite sandwich/melt 'The Turkey Gobbler' so good!!!

My husband and I just moved to town from Colorado and stopped in to grab a cup of coffee, the building is beautiful and the coffee is amazing! The owner was also kind enough to give us a recommendation to check out the bakery across the street since we're new to town. Will definitely be coming back a lot!

First time visit to this coffee shop ! It’s soo cute ! I bought a iced latte & lemon poppyseed scone absolutely delicious 😄🙌 staff was so sweet! Highly recommend this coffee shop 😁

I've been going to this same place for over 6 years, and its is all SOOO good. It used to be an opera house so the decor is is amazing inside and out! The tables are always clean and food and coffee is always hot. So many different coffees, and the you cant go wrong with any of the sandwiches, but my favorite and suggestion to you is the Hermanwitch I had a couple of weekends ago. I now work here and is the best job I've ever had. Hope you chose to stop in, trust me you wont regret it😁 Payton B.

Legitimately one of the best iced coffees I’ve ever had, strong and not watered down. I got it with 1/2 vanilla flavor, my fiancé got no flavor. Both were excellent, mine just had a slight sweetness to it which I like. Appreciate the efforts the establishment is making to limit covid spread as well: employees wearing masks, hand sanitizer set out. If you’re in the area - which Id recommend as a nice quick stop 5 min off the highway with a cute main street - then don’t miss this coffee!!

They opened in an old bank, lovely architecture. Really nice atmosphere. Excellent service. Coffee and cookie both quite good. Will visit again when I'm in town.

Encore is such a great place! The food is yummy, the coffee is tastey, the sweets are fabulous and the bathroom is just too fun! Heather has an amazing place! Love it!

Moved to St James from Colorado and wanted to try this adorable little cafe. Did not disappoint! The coffee is some of the best I've had!

First time here for a small work related meeting. Cozy and comfortable with excellent lunch options, and of course, coffee! Prices are affordable. Check out the bathroom, clean and unique!

Coffee and food is alway wonderful. The bowtie balsamic pasta salad served at the 'Women Interrupted' conference in Mankato was fabulous.

When you need a perfect scone to go with a delicious coffee....now you know where to go. 😆 Soft, yet crisp. Sweet, but salty.

Incredible coffee shop with great ambiance. Heather is extremely helpful and this small town coffee shop is a must see.
