Second Generation Plumbing

I just moved to Ashland and called Steve to fix a dripping shower. He fixed not only my shower, he fixed my leaking sink faucet and my loose door handle. He did everything in a timely manner which included finding a part for outdated plumbing. He was kind, courteous and quick, not to mention I no longer have dripping in my bathroom and my door handle doesn't come off in my hand! I really appreciated all his efforts!

Steve is our go-to plumber! He's been amazing and easy to work with every time - he's very knowledgeable and gets the job done quickly and efficiently. Thank you for all your help, Steve!

We have had Steve come to do work at our house three times now and each time was great. Living in a small town it is always nice to be able to call someone who actually lives locally. I recommend Second Generation to all of my friends who are in need of plumbing work.

Hot water heater sprung a leak. Steve was recommended by a friend. Called and he was here quickly. Gave me all my options and explained pros and cons of all my choices. Replaced the old with a new quickly.
I was nervous as the last plumber that did work left behind a huge mess for me to clean up. With Steve you would never have known he was here.

We had a backup with our washer, tub and toilet all at once. Steve came out on super short notice and stayed until he found the problem and got it resolved. He worked efficiently and was helpful with explaining and recommending how to keep the problem from happening again! Steve installed new water lines, new water heater, sinks and faucets, installed a toilet, new shower system, and a DWV (drain, waste and vent) plumbing in our rental house, he was very professional and did amazing work. Steve also put a new water heater, reverse osmosis system (drinking water), and a water softener system in our own house. His quality of work is outstanding !! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs any plumbing work done.

Steve came highly recommended from another plumber in town that he used to work for so I knew he was the right guy for the job before he came over. He replaced some old lines down the basement with PEX and also installed a five-stage reverse osmosis system. We couldn't be happier with his work. Highly recommend!

Other companies were charging an additional 50$ just to service our area, but second generation plumbing came out same day, last minute on a Friday and got our water heater back up and running for a very reasonable price. He showed up sooner than he said he would. Completed the work within and hour. Communicated clearly about what was needed. He FIXED the problem and did it for an affordable price. While he was here he even without asking fixed my door knob out of kindness. Excellent service!!! Very pleased.

Steve was recommended by his Uncle’s company that was too busy to do our renovation work. We simply needed to have the shower and tub lines moved about 6”. He came out - said would be easy, quoted his hourly rate then asked if he could bring a trainee. Day 1 he called me in while reading a manual for a standing tub filler to ask ME if I knew how it was suppose to install and asking about parts that were in the box while his “trainee” stood there. His trainee spoke with my husband giving him the impression he was still working another job not in plumbing? I had to text that first night to ask why they didn’t move the shower drain to center with shower head, something we discussed - his excuse was he thought tile guy was going to do. He also had the name and phone number of tile company. He did come back to relocate drain and was to return the next week to finish installation when tile was complete. I didn’t hear from him so I contacted him and he said he was sick and would be there the following week. We received an invoice with just a total and when we asked for a breakdown we got a text saying 10 hours for him and 10 for the “other guy” at $40/hour and $160 for parts. First, he didn’t spend 10 hours at our house, when he told me his rate and asked if he could bring a trainee there was no mention of a fee for his trainee who I never saw do anything (not like a journeyman who would be working to reduce time spent on the job). Things turned south and he demanded payment - job wasn’t done and of course I didn’t want him back. Our project was delayed a month finding another plumber, getting a new hand held bracket because Steve didn’t install the rough-in correctly. We sent a generous payment and he threatened a lien. I would not recommend this guy for anything.
