Rake's Place

Went to Rake's Place yesterday with a couple of coworkers and I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. It is a really cool place from the main dining area, to the wrap around bar room, to the outdoor seating with garage doors. All the decor is really cool as well. The whole place was really clean and just looked really sharp. The food was fantastic. Everything came out quick and was absolutely delicious. Beyond that the people were just awesome. Staff was very freindly and attentive. We met with Michelle at the end and she was awesome! It's easy to tell the culture in here is incredibly strong and everyone is very proud of the guest experience they deliver. Will be back even though it's far away!

Free standing building. Lots of available parking on site and across the street parking. Great food and spirits. Friendly staff and owner was fantastic! Highly recommend the frog legs... scrumptious, with a bottle of Red! A great to go place for family and friends to gather and enjoy a wonderful menu and full service bar. Outside seating available as well as inside dining. Bon appetite and Godspeed everyone!

From the moment we sat down Wendy, our Waitress, quickly and kindly greeted us and took our drink orders. Wendy quickly arrived back with our orders, took our food orders and it arrived quickly, accurately and piping hot (which is a huge bonus). The crab stuffed mushrooms were searing hot, packed with flavor and clearly made to order. I ordered the Black and Blue Burger with Mac and Cheese. The burger was cooked to perfection, well done and juicy, not an easy thing to accomplish. I was instantly impressed. The Mac and Cheese is bursting with flavor and was also served searing hot. Atmosphere, friendly staff, and fantastic food. Will definitely go here again.

I brought my mom here for her birthday. All of the food was good. Seafood platter has great breading if you like friend food. I actually had the Parmesan chicken was delicious with glazed carrots. Seafood dip is so yummy with fresh nachos.
Boneless chicken was good- good sauce.

I was very impressed with Rake's. We heard good things and they were all true. Allot of seafood on the menu along with steaks, wings and burgers. Everything was homemade. My wife had Crab Cakes, which were awesome! I had a black and blue burger with sweet potato fries and carrots. Ample parking and service were the best we've had in a long time! We will be going back soon.

First time at Rake's Place. It was super good. Nice clean restaurant with great service! We tried several things including the crab cakes (best I've had in a long time!), parmesan crusted chicken breast (so good - recommended by our server), brussel sprouts and zucchini squash sides. And the rolls they serve with the meals . . . They kind of look flat when they were brought to the table. But they were so fluffy and oh so good! Served with whipped butter and a cup with cinnamon sugar to dip it in it desired. Two thumbs up for sure! We'll be back!

We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries, a filet with roasted brusselsprouts and mashed potatoes. The flavor was amazing. The fliet was a pricey but it was delicious. I highly recommend!

This was the first time for my wife and I to visit Rake's Place. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and staff. I had a Black N Blue Burger and it was absolutely amazing! It was a very lively atmosphere much like a sports bar would be but with private seating and just an overall great place to dine.

My wife and I will definitely be going back here for a second time.

DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!! Wow amazing. Lunch! Friendly people,. Amazingly fresh food,. The smoked Prime rib ( Thursday Special) Was definitely five star! Perfectly cooked. Fresh seafood! Great atmosphere! Definitely will be back!

I haven’t had anything on the menu I didn’t love and everyone is very friendly! They have delicious crispy brussel sprouts and their prime rib is worth every penny!

Absolutely the Best Seafood! You will Love the Variety of Food they have to offer!! Even for the picky one in your Family!!
The Service is Outstanding.

Everything we had was delicious. Service was excellent and atmosphere very nice. Definately worth the drive.

The food is great, legitimately some of the best tasting food in town, several towns for that matter. The biggest problem is the service. I have heard it from several sources and can confirm it, we have waited over 15 minutes just to place a drink order and usually it takes 45 minutes to an hour for food. So I recommend getting a few appetizers. It's also really loud inside, there's nothing inside to diffuse the conversations and noise. If it If you lack patience or have have issues with noise honestly Rakes isn't for you. But the walleye is sooo good.

Thankful for my man Jason taking me out and paying for such a dinner.

Wow, amazing food and great service. Everything was cooked properly and seasoned perfectly. Front house team was friendly and attentive. If you are in the area, Rake's is a "must go" establishment. The prior poster(s) complaining about the prices being too high is out of touch...a similarly appointed/sized meal costs the same at Red Lobster, but Rake's quality is superior in every sense of the word.

We were just passing through but felt like our hometown bar. Food service and atmosphere were great. Next time I'm passing through, I'll make it a point to stop at Rakes!

Visited on a Tuesday on a whim for a last minute date. Thinking about the pork chop 2 weeks later more than I'm thinking about my date! But the date was good, too - just not as good as that pork chop. Crab cakes were better than I expected for a Zanesville eatery.

Our food was delicious. Great server. Beautiful place. We will be back.

My family of six grown adults went to Rakes on Saturday, Sept. 2. It was , without question, the best restaurant meal I have ever had! Our server, Wendy, was phenomenal. The food was to die for, from the appetizers to the entrees to the absolutely delicious iced tea. Our first time there and it will certainly not be our last!! Well done, Rakes!! Doesn’t matter what you order, it’s all worth it!!

My favorite place in Zanesville! The only issue I've ever heard about this place is the access to the women's restroom for someone in a wheelchair.
