Yesterday I met a couple of elderly men sitting next to their customized vintage automobiles in the town square of Old Town Albuquerque, NM. I lamented that I couldn't find any auto museums in New Mexico. They said there is one, and it's well worth the drive to Santa Rosa, NM to see it.

Despite over 30 minutes of construction along US-40 I tell you that it was indeed worth the effort to get there! I highly recommend it! Route 66 Automobile Museum...and as an added bonus, I got to drive along Historic Route 66.

Wow! I spent 2 hours here! So many beautiful cars that Bozo and his brother have beautifully restored! There are various engines too.. perfect for any gearhead. There are also a lot of other vintage items, too. Bozo is a great host of his museum and happy to answer questions. This is a MUST see!!!

Route 66 Auto Museum-
Santa Rosa, NM-
This is the best quality auto museum on the route. They have Museum quality autos, motorcycles, and memorabilia. They have a wide variety of Stuff, everything you can imagine. An Edsel with a front bucket scoop. If you can think of something more different than that…. They were very nice people too, price was decent, and self guided walk through. I know we met some cool Canadians… swapped picture taking with them. I highly recommend this route66 stop.
My Rating: 8.1.

Nice quick stop, just off of 40. They have a good selection of cars, and the place is not crowded, so you can take your time. Plus a ton of memorabilia along the walls.

Best car museum ever? - no. But, it is only 5 bucks - well worth the stop!

Nice little museum to stop at in between Amarillo and Albuquerque. Very clean and well done. Most cars they have are immaculate. Nice restrooms if you need a bathroom break. Admission was $5.00 per person, we'll worth it! If your on your way by its a must stop!

I really liked this museum. The staff were friendly and just let you browse at your leisure. The amenities were clean and tidy as well and they had a great gift shop.
The cars on display were pretty awesome with some fine restorations of hot rods, muscle, pick up utilities and more modern muscle and even an immaculate Ford Bronco.

My husband is a huge fan of classic trucks and since we stayed the night in Santa Rosa on our way home, we decided to stop here on our way out of town. We arrived here right a 7:30 am on New Year’s Eve and they were open. The man said that they restore and do all the work to the vehicles themselves. It was really awesome to see. They definitely sell nostalgia here because the classic cars and vintage items were great to see. I highly recommend stopping here. They are putting in a diner soon and I can’t wait to stop by some other time. The restrooms were the cleanest and they even had cute soaps, sprays and lotions on the counters. Admission for our 2 year old was free and they had the cutest gift shop and we were able to find some great souvenirs.

Thank you for a great visit on Route 66.

A fantastic place along the original Route 66! This is surely one of the best car museums that you can find on the Mother Road.
The place is packed with iconic cars, memorabilia and motor history, spanning the whole twentieth century. Entry ticket is only 5$ and absolutely worth it!
I highly recommend stopping here and enjoy a 1-hour visit in this special place.
There is also a shop where you can buy souvenirs, clothing and so much more at very affordable prices.
Great work by the team running "Route 66 Auto Museum", well done in preserving this place!

Located on Route 66 in Santa Rosa NM. Can't miss the place with the old cars by the side of the road and the yellow hot rod on a pole above the museum. There's a small area when you first walk into the museum. Souvenirs and a few more things to take photos of. The real gems are behind the wall. It will cost you $5 to see those.

Awesome quick stop to see some well restored hot rods. Son and I are taking a road trip across the country and were looking for some cool stops along the way. This place made the list and didn't disappoint. It was only $5 per person, and we really enjoyed every minute. Come by, check out not only cars but some memorabilia from the historic Rt. 66 and support the local community.
