Great Outdoors Restaurant

We loved celebrating 🍾 here. Had a great lunch and amazing server. 👏 Real onion soup starter, timed great with lunch. Salmon was perfectly cooked, wedge salad with all the things and bacon! Finished with Blueberry cheesecake. Mmmm! They had a special on half price bottles of wine as well. We enjoyed being spoiled by our server.

The food and drinks are both fantastic.i ordered the Fisherman's Catch and my wife had Chicken Oscar. We couldn't have asked for better meals. We eat out a lot and this was top line for sure. I also ordered Conch Fritters and was wishing I had room for another order. Last time I had Conch Fritters this good was over 50 years ago in the Bahamas. Can't say enough about the food. Our waitress was an awesome young lady. She was very knowledgeable about the area and spent time talking with us.
We will be back. Highly recommend you swing by and enjoy their food too.

So we visited here again in March after a great paddle as the springs. It was crowded because it was a week day. One of our party got the steak and it was terrific - cooked perfectly. A couple of us got the shrimp and grits and it was a great take on the dish - we ate every bite. There was a salad also ordered we and it was very greasy and generous. Our server was also very nice and efficient.

We stopped in on a whim last night (Sunday evening) and had the best meal and the best waiter. Honestly, the food was tasty. The waiter was polite and charming and the environment was lovely. Laid back but really nicely laid out. Love this place. And appreciate the waiter making my birthday extra special. The bread pudding was perfect!

This place is wonderful. All the food we ordered was amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t get pics of everything. The conch fritters were just as good as being in the keys. All of the fried tomatoes were out of this world also. We had a party of 9 and they did great.

What a really nice place. We've been passing the restaurant for a month now and finally had the opportunity to stop by for dinner. The menu has a lot of options without being overwhelming. For an appetizer, we had conch fritters and gator bites. They were both great but the fritters were fantastic. They had large pieces of conch and were very tasty.
For the main course, I had the shrimp and grits which were very tasty. I would certainly recommend them. We also had the smoked mac & cheese with added shrimp, Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and a very nice hamburger. We will definitely be going back!

Wow delicious and awesome atmosphere! I was stuffed but my dad also really enjoyed ice cream across the street right after. What a great town and place to eat and drink!!! Do not miss the hush puppies!!!!!

Stopped here after a day floating and wow! Totally impressed. Top notch service by an amazingly friendly young man. He hasn’t been at this place long and I for the life of me can’t remember his name I’m so sorry I want to give you credit for a great experience). Haven’t had a dining experience like this in years. My daughter has to eat gluten free and your menu was a delight for her! She ordered the pasta with steak and blue cheese sauce! It was amazing and the fried pickles that were recommended by our server did not disappoint! Our group also had wings, the flat bread, spinach’s and artichoke dip and a burger and sweet potato fries! The drinks were cold and every thing was 5 stars! The atmosphere was relaxing and a nice breeze from the fans outside! Can’t wait to go back on a music night!

The restaurant is linked to the old Opera House and the atmosphere is fantastic. I had the best fried green tomatoes I ever had. We had a 16 onz Ribeye Steak served to perfection with gouda grits, grilled asparagus, and coconut rice. For dessert, we had bread pudding strawberry cheesecake flavored delish! We really enjoy our vacation in High Springs. The food, the springs, and the people. Satecation as it's best.

A little disappointed that the $40 steak comes with zero sides and sides range up to $10 each! We tried the truffle fries and they really tasted just like regular fries with parmesan cheese on them.

There are a few things going on in these pictures. A HUGE side salad with thick balsamic vinaigrette. We found what looks to be an oak leaf in it. 😆 Only proves it is REAL lettuce greens. We let our waitress know (for future customers) and she let us know the owner has his own farm! Even better!

Our awesome amazing wonderful waitress actually cut up my pickle for me! What! How sweet was that?

We loved our real beef burgers, but that G. O. Burger is hands down the best! Try it, you'll love it! That bacon jam was on point!

Great tea, BTW. Cannot beat this experience.

The most incredible dining experience that High Springs has to offer. Jesse is a master of his craft. Josh was our Chef and couldn't have been more welcoming. We've made lifetime memories here and promise to return. Thank you kindly from the bottom of our hearts.

I was not feeling well but had to eat. All the flatbreads are gluten free and that helped me make a decision and I was so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed to feel better. We had a lovely time

Small historic town with a jewel of a restaurant. Inside & outside areas that are inviting. Food is very good and a full beverage bar. Treat yourself and visit the Great Outdoors restaurant in High Springs, Fl.

Great decor, service, and food! I had the special, which was their version of the philly cheese steak. Except it was ground beef and had a mayo based cheese sauce. It came with fries and was $14 and some change. Well worth the cost. This was our 2nd visit and it was much better this visit than the last. The outside seating is nice if the weather allows it.

What an excellent place. The interior decor is very authentic. The service is great and the food is super delicious. The main thing they cater to many dietary restrictions while not compromising the taste. Very easy on your budget. A rare gem in a small town.

Decided to take a ride and listen to some music that was advertised on the Visit Alachua e mail I receive weekly . What a great place ! Only complain I have a the tacky strip lights about the bar including the one strip that does not work and the other one that is becoming unstuck . Gina the bartender is a huge asset to the restaurant as she is a drink making machine . I only had a couple beers and dessert this time but plan to come back for dinner and to enjoy some of the best entertainment in the county .

Sooooo good! We had the balsamic chicken and shrimp and grits with the gator bites app. Everything was amazing! The shrimp were huge and the gator bites breading was the best we’ve ever had! 10/10

I have always enjoyed the food and service here at GOR. Today I tried the Blue Burger with Mashed Potato’s. What a great pairing. Try it sometime. The lunch was capped off with a chocolate cake/ pie. Oh My Goodness!!! Amazing texture and flavor. Also had the bacon burger and it was perfect.

Where do I begin?! Best fried green tomatoes you will ever have, fresh ingredients (huge plus), group(chefs kiss). Service and Every morsel of food was amazing. Aside from great key lime the real dessert was getting to see the upstairs and ghost story. Love, luv, lv this place. Will come back to high springs just for this restaurant. Thank you so much
