Better Than Most SCUBA

Scuba diving with Schwenke was easily the highlight of my trip to the Keys. He is very chill and knew where all the cool fish were. The dive itself was wonderful - one of the best dives I have ever experienced. The “Lost and Found” dive was easily a 10/10 because I felt very safe with the crew and saw tons of sea life. Schwenke works with his wife, Jeanie. Jeanie is also a great scuba diver. She was always in a very good mood and she and Ashleigh gave me a refresher dive in a pool and taught my sister the basics of scuba diving. Finally, the captain of the ship’s name is Aly, she is very good at driving the ship. She has all the emergency gear and essentials on board. I never second guessed my safety while on board that boat. At the end of the dive I even got a Better than Most rash guard. Very comfortable and gives me big bragging rights. We had the best experience with Jeanie, splash & schwenke doing our open water SDI certification. This is a true family opened and operated business with the owners actually on the boat with you- unheard of in the dive industry! My husband and I did tons of research before selecting better than most and are so happy we did. Safety is paramount for the entire team and we felt secure and confident throughout our education and dives. They took us to 4 GORGEOUS locations where we saw everything from sea turtles to eels. Can’t recommend this team enough- we enjoyed it so much we are headed back out with them this week!

Dove with Better Than Most on 5/7/24 and had a great experience. We chose this dive shop based on the reviews and our desire to have a more personal diving experience than the big shops. Better Than Most exceeded all our expectations. We were the only boat at the two dive sites that they selected based on the conditions of the day. All the crew made us feel very comfortable and helped us with any need we brought to their attention. Will look forward to diving with Better Than Most again in the near future.

Got SDI certified with Better Than Most. I had never put on a BC before and the whole crew, including the owners, were amazing. Extremely kind, informative and most importantly safe! HIGHLY recommend for any instructional work or for rec diving. Reefs right outside marathon/duck key are beautiful as well! A+

Great diving! Jeanie was our dive master and Kevin was our captain. They were both professional and loads of fun! The diving was incredible. Lots of turtles, rays, and eels. Would definitely come back for another round.

We had a great experience with Kevin and Ashley. Both were professional, informative, friendly, and attentive. I was apprehensive because there was some wind today and choppy water, but the dives were wonderful, with good visibility and so much to see! Many huge green eels, schools of colorful fish, amazing coral (which isn't easy to find these days). Both Kevin and Ashley were over- the- top helpful with our equipment and entering and exciting the boat. A big thank you that they canceled our earlier dive due to bad conditions. That shows integrity and a true desire to give their customers an excellent experience. We will return!

The crew at Better than Most was definitely better than most. In fact, I’d say they were tops. Our captain was Kevin and our guide was Jeanie. They were absolutely amazing. Jeanie got some amazing photos of us on the dive and got some amazing footage if the things we saw on the dive (and she picked up some trash to save the ocean so extra points for her). They were the perfect combination of professional and down to earth. 10/10 would recommend. I will be back.

My husband and I just completed our open water certification dives with this AMAZING CREW! The experience and knowledge is top notch. The kindness and personalized experience cannot be matched. We had a total of four dives. We swam with nurse sharks, a southern sting ray, a sea turtle, a vast array of fish, and we saw lobster, gorgeous coral, brittle starfish, Christmas tree worms, scorpionfish, sea cucumber, and so much more. We cannot wait to come back (with friends and family) and dive again with this crew! Thank you so much Schwenke, Jeanie, Captain Aly, Ashley (aka Splash), and Captain Joe.

Great time! We spent two days with them and will do it again. Extremely knowledgeable, fun to dive with, and love what they do. They genuinely care about their customers having a good time. The boat and equipment were top notch. We had brand new divers doing check out dives and experienced divers alike.

Better than most lives up to its name and then some. I just snorkeled for the first time ever with them and I had an amazing experience. Schwenke and Jeanie were amazing! They were so professional and supportive. Such lovely people and such a lovely place. Friendly, knowledgeable and kind crew. First class service from booking the reservation through the end of the dive trip. This was the most diverse and beautiful diving we have done in Florida.

We had an amazing scuba trip with Schwenke, Jeanie, and Capt Speedy. All were amazing and very accommodating. We haven’t been scuba diving in some time but did a refresher course at home prior to The Keys trip. They did everything to ensure we were comfortable in and out of the water. 100% recommend these folks and they give it their all as this is their business and life. Thx again!! Words can’t describe how great our snorkel experience was with Better Than Most! The owners, Schwenke and Jeanie, and Captain Dan were awesome! Our safety was their number one priority as well as having a memorable trip! We were first timers and they provided great tips and were very patient! Better than most was just that better than most The friendly staff members made our diving week of adventure an outstanding one. Captain Jeannie, Swankey, and Hayden made it an amazing experience. The scuba team were attentive and considerate towards my family of 12 which had a range of comfort levels and ages 12 to over 60. We have dove in the Keys a few times and this group is the first one my father complimented and wanted to book again, he has been diving since 83'. They were extremely flexible with our family needs first. They dont fill every single slot just to make every dollar they can, it truly is about the experience. Thanks again for a SAFE and wonderful trip not to mention all the SHARKS!!!

Better Than most is exactly as stated in the name. I have a captains lic. myself and am an avid diver along with being on the water for my whole life. These people are some of the most caring, professional owners-operators I have dove with. They take their job seriously which is very appreciated. My wife and I have 4 new, young divers and we couldn't expect better care. I highly recommend Better Than Most for a seamless adventure!

highly recommend this shop! we booked a dive with better than most while visiting the keys. owner communications were wonderful from the moment we booked. all the staff from owner, captain, and dive guide were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. this is not an outfit that crams as many people on the boat as possible where you are tripping over one another! they took us to reefs that are not heavily used so there was a lot of marine life to see. will definitely use this shop again next time we visit!

This wonder watersport activity business is located in the Banana Bay Resort on Marathon in the Florida Keys. We were lucky enough to be able to do their Sunset Cruise. Captain Dan took us out on a lazy ride in the pristine Gulf of Mexico. The views were amazing! The owner Jason (a.k.a. Swanky) & his staff are wonderful people. They made you feel like you long time friends. If you want to go diving, snorkeling or just take a lazy ride to toast the sunset. Come see Better then Most Watersports.

We had a really great time diving with them. You could tell it's less of job for the crew and more of hobby which made the trips extremely enjoyable. We have dove with a couple different outfits in the Keys but this is who I will be diving with from now on!

So glad we found this dive shop. I'm a longtime T1 diabetic but in pretty good shape. Wanted open water certification for a future dive trip that also includes a marathon in Australia. Schewenke and Jeanie understood my goal and made sure I had everything i needed to make it happen.

The pool training was held in a kidney-style pool rather than lap pool and it's only 5 feet at its deepest. That was an issue for some of the taller guys in our group.

Unfortunately, they couldn't master some of the skills and didn't get certified. Schwenke asked if our group could stay an additional day so they could get more practice, but we had a tight window to get home. Advice: don't have a tight window to get home, just in case.

BTM gave me the confidence you need to get outside your comfort zone and become part of a different world. Highly recommend.
