Dr. Rickman has been my primary care physician since he left moody. I love the way that he has always taken care of me. I had a tia in April 14th 2013 he took care of me like family. Thru his care and concern my two daughters were very happy with the care that he gave me personally. My oldest made him her pcp up until she pasted away in 2018. He was so compassionate when she passed. Yes I have and still will recommend him to others. He hasn't changed and he will put his patients first that's why he is always crowded. He is a great physician.

Been going to Dr. Rickman since we moved here as Military members. It is always hard to find new providers when you have to move a lot due Military employment. Dr. Rickman’s office was very welcoming when I arrived on my first visit. Dr. Rickman, and his other providers are Outstanding they truly care about your concerns and address any and all questions you might have. The office staff is Wonderful too, polite and always willing to help.

We have our own primary provider in Valdosta for our family but live closer to Lake Park. Started coming here whenever both of my kids or myself are sick. They're so nice and there's never been a long wait. Last time we came here when my son had the flu. He was so nauseous it was more convenient to bring him here as it was closer to us. They were so accommodating to us. Poor little guy was literally having to run to the rest room and be sick and it turned into a chaotic mom moment but they helped us and waited for him. No one got impatient with us. We were in and out very quick and so I was able to get him back home in bed within an hour of coming here vs a likely 2-3 hour trip doing a walk in at our regular doctor.

Great people work there

Since they have been under SGMC you can tell a change . I've left voicemails to not get a call back . Call during business hours just for it to go to the voicemail . Definitely sad to see such a good team go so down hill . I used to love Rickmans office but now am debating moving primary doctors.

Big change in this office since sold to SGMC! Went yesterday bringing sick granddaughter to office at 9:30. Place is packed. Inquired at reception how long estimated… girl said 5 patients ahead of me. She asked if I would like to make an appointment. I said yes please. Made appointment for 2:50pm that same day. So got there at 2:40pm. Place was packed. Checked in at reception. Asked if my 2:50 appointment would be honored because they looked so busy. Woman shrugged and said she didn’t know because so many there so probably not. I asked then why did she make me an appointment and what was the point if they don’t honor the appointments over walk ins… she shrugged and said said I would have to talk to someone else about that. Don’t care attitude evident. Have been coming here for 4 years under Dr Rickman. You can tell no longer a privately owned business. Staff no longer has to care if you return it not! They still get paid by SGMC… so sad. Lake Park has lost this once great clinic! So you can still go here… just don’t expect the great warm reception you once got.

***Jordan returned to reception and she DOES honor appointments over walk-ins! Thank you Jordan! Great gal with very pleasant personality! Unfortunately, nurses keep changing, rotating from Valdosta office. Some good, some robots.

The doctor is great and the nurse.the receptionist is very short in her communication.and very rude.

If I could give negative stars I would, been a patient for several years and walked in with blood coming out of my ear and was told to try smithnorview that they had no avalable appointments. Ever since he sold out to sgmc this place has gone to shi7 all these monopolies of hospitals need to be broken up.

I am here to tell my own experience with this place.

The people are friendly. Yes, I agree. I was treated kindly at first when I came over and the doctor that treated me was nothing but sweet. I got my referral and I was on my way to the pharmacy--I gave them as well a days time to make sure everything went through.

Great? Great. I go over and couldn't pick up the referral form the base. Well, you can always move the order to another place. That is what I did using Walmart. I call Walmart so that can move the referral from the base and it turns out....No referral was ever sent.

I called the office asking to make sure they sent it. Phone errors. Okay....I gave them maybe 3 days or so. Called again. Nothing. 2 days. Nothing. Waited over the weekend, comes Monday. They hang up me. Twice.

They could hear me, I know they could because they asked for me name. Boom. Call ended instantly.

Having called a few more times with absolute no response. I try a different phone and they answer. I tell them my name, gone. Call is hung up.

After all the failed calls, I had to go in person.

I ask as kindly as possible to get my referral and they promised to do it in roughly 2 hours. Okay, cool right? I live about an hour away so it is a bit of a hassle to drive to this office.

3 hours past.

I go to Walmart. Ask for medication under my name. Literally there is nothing.

All I ask is for my medication, they are just anti-depressants. My depression and all this stress just to get my referral have caused nothing but more and more panic attacks.

Please. Reconsider this place. They have avoided me and basically blacklisted me after calls. Every single one, I tried to be as civil as possible. Never once have I ever even rose my voice or treated them unfairly.

DON’T waste your time… Just like everything else SGMC related, it’s awful. You are No longer going to a “Dr. Rickman” office like everyone once loved. And they are NOT a walk-in anymore.
