Rice Palace Restaurant

Very friendly staff. The owner served us our food. We had seafood gumbo and I had blacked catfish with crawfish étouffée. Food was wonderful. Building is modern and kitchen is completely visible which is a major plus. Lots of regulars while we were here. Ignore any bad reviews. Seriously.

Located at exit 80 north of Interstate 10, you'll find this place. Has Gas and Diesel Pumps, Covent Store, Casino, and the Rice Palace Restaurant. Friendly Staff, Fast Service and Food Prepared Fresh to Order. We had the seafood platter, along with fresh fried pickles and crabcake on crawfish estufea. The seafood player also came with a cup of crawfish Gumbo and one side. It's definitely worth the stop.

Let me start off by saying how delightful this place is. The restaurant is super clean and very well maintained. We walked in and were greeted and seated quickly with our orders placed. We shared a bowl of delicious sausage and chicken gumbo. I had a beautiful, bright, colorful salad with crispy croutons, sautéed broccoli (that was absolutely fantastic), and the Crawfish Trap. The trap is a grilled fish fillet topped with crawfish etouffee. My husband had the special, which was fried chicken with amazing crispy, cruchy skin, cornbread dressing, and yams. All the food came out hot with so much flavor, the Louisiana flavors that I love and crave. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating and provided me with a to-go cup of sweet tea for the road.

The restaurant is located next to a truck stop right off of I-10. So, if you are a truck driver like me, there's plenty of parking to stop in for a bite to eat.

We enjoyed breakfast at The Rice Palace this morning. My husband ordered the ham & cheese omelet and it was a well served and very hearty breakfast. I enjoyed the breakfast wrap with the tortilla on the side. The combination of egg, bacon, cheeses, grilled onions and bell pepper with grits was awesome! I even ordered a side of biscuits also! Love it! I truly recommend it to anyone who enjoys great food for a reasonable price. 👍

Before the pandemic this was a great place to eat at. Some of the best crawfish etouffee you could get on I-10 with truck parking. It has been awhile since the reopening, and I'm happy to say the great food is finally back! Absolutely the best! But don't just take my word for it. Stop by and give it a try! You won't regret it!

The Rice Palace is the exception to the post covid way of doing business. The restaurant has been recently updated with a bright and fresh new look. The kitchen and staff work in open view of those dining. You will never come here and find this place under staffed. I am always amazed by the the wait staff and their commitment to service, Ella was no exception. The employees here seem to do their work with intent, purpose and pleasure bringing real meaning to the word "server." You'd be hard pressed to find something here you didn't like which brings me to the topic of food. I've got to say all the food looks and sounds amazing here. I think most anyone could find a favorite dish here, but my go to can't get enough of is the hamburger steak cooked to your desire.... sooo good! If you work hard for your money and miss the days when you could enjoy the fruit and labor of it over a great meal with eceptional service and a inviting atmosphere than you need to try out the Rice Palace.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. After the remodel they changed the menu and it was horrible. Since then they have revamped the menu and the food is good again. I still miss the home style and Cajun food lunch buffet.

Nice Mom and Pop restaurant when passing thru Crowley, LA. Great flavor food, good price and friendly service. Shout out to server Nancy, thank you for your friendly smile.

Country atmosphere but very clean and decent to be connected to a truck stop, bar and casino. THE FOOD!! Omg wish I would’ve took pictures. Idk who’s back there cooking but they need a frickin raise!!!

Great place to stop after a long day on the road pulling an RV. Refuel, buy snacks for the road, and have a hot meal at the restaurant. The chicken sausage gumbo is fantastic.

I had the Louisiana Sampler. There small bowls of Etoufee, chicken and sausage gumbo and seafood gumbo

Breakfast for dinner, delicious. Huge omelette, breakfast wrap - fast tasty. Service quick and efficient

If you have not been there in a while, you should make a trip over to check out the finished re-modeling they did there... Great new color pallet and all new furniture... Even a new coffee bar... New everything... Oh, and you can still get a good old fashioned grilled biscuit with sausage patties or any of your favorite meals...

5 star restaurant, an absolute oasis for the OTR truck driver, best crawfish etouffee you can ask for in the rice land country, thank you Rice palace for being a thang.

We had a nice lunch here. As I eat vegetarian, we are always on the lookout for restaurants that have this on the menu. They have all-day breakfast as well with vegetarian options.

I had the vegetarian omelet, and this was amazing. It was very well seasoned. The toast and hashbrowns were also very good.

We also ordered the scrimp PO boy with homemade union rings. These were so good and large!

Our waitress was very friendly, and she asked us multiple times if we were happy and needed anything. Great southern hospitality.
