Dax On Verot

So I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. It's right around the corner from my clinic. I went in today - a gloomy, rainy Monday - and got DELICIOUS food that was wonderful and brightened the day!
I had the lunch special for today, which was chicken stew.

It. Was. Stellar!

Thick gravy, very flavorful, a large serving and it "stuck to my ribs". At less than $10 for the stew, two sides and a roll, it was well worth the price!
I look forward to trying even more of their menu items. Do your stomach a favor and visit Dax on Verot!

Got there expecting it to be busy, based off all the great reviews I've heard online and offline. They were gonna close up early, but I am so glad they chose to serve us. My group got fried pickles, dax BBQ burger, brisket po boy and a crab cake burger. The meals all came with fries. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere out on the porch was excellent. They allowed dogs. So dog friendly as well. I can't think of a negative thing to say about our experience. Everyone loved the food and the restaurant. Thanks for staying open for us. We'll be coming back or ordering it to go.

My husband and I live in New Iberia, and for years we've been trying to find a really good Sunday BBQ. A Bears in New Iberia has great BBQ, but they only serve it on Thursdays, and if you don't call by 10:30 am you're pretty much out of luck trying to get white meat. I say this only because for the last few years we have tried BBQ all over the area trying to find something even half as good. Today we tried Dax on Verot, and FINALLY found great Sunday BBQ. Although the restaurant is small, it has great atmosphere. I would have liked for the chicken to be a little bigger, but you can't beat the taste. I would definitely drive the 30 miles to buy it again.

I had the Fresh Sausage lunch plate that came with Baked Beans, Rice Dressing & Potato Salad - Fresh & Delicious! My wife had the Fried Shrimp PO-Boy with Fries. Only disappointed when she ate her last shrimp. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. The prices were a great value for the quantity and quality.

Great experience, got 1/2 dozen crabs they were full!!! Hubby got 5lbs of crawfish and even though its late in the season they weren't sticking when he peeled, asked for mild and he said they were on point on seasoning!!!! Daughter got fried fish and she tore it up!!!! Thanks DAX'S!

It was so good! We had the half n half shrimp and fish. Cooked perfectly. Even my sons hotdogs was delicious. Need to try go back for a bbq plate on Sundays. It's been a while.

A finished crab plate is a complement.

Love Dax it's a nice place to eat. You can eat inside, an area outside, or pick up your order to go. Our group had Hamburg's and fries we enjoyed. Friendly people.

Bacon cheeseburger was amazing! My family loved their seafood. The fries were delicious...hot and crispy! We will be back!

Great Barbecue, awesome sammiches and wraps. Homestyle plates every day. Get your crawfish crab and shrimp fix here with a variety of sides to choose from. It's the bee's knees y'all!

Crawfish were great. I asked for spicy and they did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!

Everything here is awsome. Never had a bad thing off their menu. FYI - They BBQ every Wednesday and Sunday. Get that plate lunch, baw!

Nice down home place. I had the chicken burger and it was awesome! Lot of food for the price. I loved it and will definitely go back!

Burgers where awesome. Also a BYOB place so that's a plus. Crawfish was seasoned just right! We will be back. Friendly staff!

Very good shrimp poboy! The bread is light and chewy, not too filling. I would recommend getting a poboy here!

DAX food is amazing didn't want to put the fork down.coming from California I'm very happy to of found this place. One word to describe amazing.

Those burgers were so fresh and juicy. I would definitely go back again.
