I drive an extra 30 min - passing several stores and ignoring several others in the opposite direction, yet closer - to get my feed from them. They're so incredibly kind and helpful; making you feel welcomed every time you enter the store. I also buy the majority of my starter-plants from them. If I'm not growing from seed myself; I get the plants from them.
I've also purchased ducks from these guys and they're beyond happy and healthy. Unfortunately I ended up picking 3 drakes instead of 3 hens - which was not their fault!! - so I'll be heading back for new hens once my boys have hit the freezer.
It makes me feel great spending my $ at the Feed & Seed as opposed to big corporations. Support local businesses.. even if they're not exactly local to you. 😉

This is a great place to get chicks. The people are nice, prices are good, no silly rules. This isn't a fancy story; but it's a great down to Earth place to buy chicks. They had a lot of different breeds available when I was there.

Lance is an upstanding gentleman and made me feel really comfortable when I accidentally went to his store instead of the one I was supposed to go to. I ended up buying my feed from him even though it's 1/2 as much for something kinda similar but not as good elsewhere. All because he was a nice dude and I was having a bad day. I'll be visiting out of my way more often just for to say hi.

Been coming here for several years for my hobby farm needs. Large selection on chicks and ducks. Better prices than Tractor Supply on several things. Staff is always friendly. Support your local small town business!

Cool store with everything you need for keeping your chickens happy and healthy. Bought 10 ready to lay Golden comets and had 10 eggs in 2 days.

They have great prices & variety of feed. I so appreciate the gentleman carried the feed out to my car.

This place came highly recommended and now i know why. Very knowledgable, patient, and informative staff. We are new to raising chickens and we got all our quesrions answered. We were in and out with everything we needed including 6 vacinated healthy chickens. Super happy to be able to skip the baby chick stage and be closer to getting fresh eggs.

Always a nice experience. I purchased 5 baby chicks from them. One did end up being a roo but I know silkies are hard to sex. Always helpful and nice here. I also love going in and seeing the adorable Chihuahuas.

Highly recommend them for all your farm needs!! I bought over 17 guineas from them and they are all doing excellent!! Great prices too and they have everything you need!!

Great fresh eggs! Love being inside the store! Chicks just hatched, baby Chihuahuas, a couple of cats to pet and wonderful food for many critters!

They have always helped carry out my heavy feedbags, my mulch and dirt I got for the garden has made the best vegetables that I got from them too. Very helpful, knowledgeable and will custom order some items. My go to critter food, garden, firewood place.

I bought two chicks from them this past April. Their store was clean and all the chicks looked healthy. They answered my questions (this is my first time raising chickens) and were very kind. The person who got the chicks out for me did grab the wrong breed at first for one of my choices, but I mentioned it and he apologized and switched then. He might have just misheard me at first.

Both girls are doing extremely well and are great layers! I've already had to give away eggs to family because I couldn't keep up with them. :) They're sweet and funny, too!

My parents and I are the owners of Currituck Feed and Seed. Mr. Deleon makes a very inaccurate portrayal of us in his review. He incorrectly portrays our policy on chicks. We have a 48 hour guarantee on all standard breed chicks, not a 24 hour guarantee. Also you MUST bring back the dead chick and have a receipt to get a replacement chick. Thats on baby chicks not adult birds. I really do not believe that we would have acted the way Mr. Deleon said or unless he acted unreasonable himself. We can do our best to explain how to take care of the birds, but we cannot guarantee that they will live once they leave our store. That depends on how their new owners take care of them. Our birds are healthy and well taken care of at our store. Chicks die sometimes and if we will work with you within reason if you act in a reasonable manner. We cannot replace chicks twice. If you ask us to do and we recognize you, you will be denied. We have lots of positive reviews on facebook. We are very kind to people. If you have a problem with us please contact us directly so we can handle the problem an please don't just write a negative review that we cannot remove that publicly demeans our business.

This place has a excellent selection of top quality feed for farm animals, dogs, cats, etc. Great source for poultry enthusiasts. Bulk firewood can be purchased on site or delivered. A very nice bloodline of Chihuahua pups can be found here as well. The staff is made up of real and down to earth folks. My Staffordshire pitbull has thrived on their recommend brand of kibble for 7+ years. I drive over 45min and pass up smart petco type stores to purchase dog food from these awesome folks. I always recommend Currituck Feed and Seed to anyone looking for a farm type feed store. Go get ya some!!

They had the bronze turkeys, Pekin ducks, and all 4 breeds of chicks i was looking for, in one place. The prices for chicks are competitive. A little pricey for older birds. I do appreciate most are sexed.

I have ALWAYS had a pleasant experience @ Currituck Feed & Seed! Everyone there is always very kind & helpful. They always get the items I need & load them in my truck for me, as I am handicapped. Never has anyone complained about doing this for me. On 1 occasion I called to see what time they closed because I couldn't get there until 6:00 & they said they closed at 5:00 but would gladly have someone meet me there at 6:00 to get what I needed. I arrived at 6;00 & Aaron got my item & loaded it for me with no problem. They went above & beyond in my opinion, as I don't know of any other store that would do that! I will gladly purchase all of my feed needs there even if another store has my item on sale. I do not mind paying for GREAT customer service!!

We purchased firewood, Currituck Feed and Seed loaded our truck with more wood than the half cord we bought. Very good customer service, we will be back.

Everything you need for chickens is here! My chickens really loved the meal worms, so yummy! I loved the sweet potato for 59 cents a pound, a great deal.
