Houghton's Pond Recreation Area

Beautiful place to cookout, picnic, or swim and play on the beach. Great place to fish too. Recently restocked Plenty of Fish including bass, trout! Love it here!

Has a nice picnic area, good for swim (in summer), has restrooms and a separate playground. The trail around the pond is good flat terrain.

Moderate hike to buck hill was beautiful. Quiet well marked trails. Great views from the top of the hill. Boston skyline views. Ocean views. Windy and cold today.

Great family day out. Safe swimming within a shallow cordoned off bathing area. Just behind the shoreline there was lots of space for picnics and barbecues amid a picturesque tree lined backdrop. Lifeguards were present and super helpful. Matt and Kevin gave us loads of great advice about the local area. We really appreciated it, thank you.

Peaceful beach that you can enjoy through out the year. You can do fishing in the pond too. There are also trails nearby. Also a playground for kids to play.

Lots of folks enjoying cook outs and hiking but no swimming due to high bacteria count.

This is a beautiful area. It has picnic tables, a play ground, a beach area by the pond that people swim in in the summer, and lots of parking.

Great spot to spend a family day. Free parking, playground for different ages, nice trails, picnic tables(no grills) beach but summer 2023 is high bacteria level so not recommended for swimming, but still many people and kids in the water.

Nice place to spend the day with the family and friends during weekend. Sometimes it’s not allowed swimming so pay attention to the signs.

We enjoyed the pond after blue hills reservation hike.. awesome place

DCR area. Very well maintained. Closes at 8:00 pm. Main bathrooms next to the beach open from 8:00 am till 5:30 pm. Swimming and fishing are very popular all summer.
