Foggy Bottom Kitchen

What a gem! I would go out of my way to enjoy this place. It’s located in a state park so I did not know what to expect. The scenery is amazing. They have indoor and outdoor dining with great views. It’s clean, and friendly. But aside from all that, the food was incredible! Everything and I mean everything tasted GREAT. Low prices and great food, what a combination. You will love this place and it’s worth the detour from 35N. Huckleberry ice cream is a must. It’s one of the best things I have tasted in a long time.

Great place to sit outside and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Murray while enjoying some great food. I had the Winchester Burger which was a hand formed half pound angus beef patty served with white cheddar and apple bacon jam and arugula with Worcestershire sauce on a brioche bun. It was absolutely delicious. I chose their homemade kettle chips as my side which complimented the burger quite well. While we were waiting on our food we were served two complimentary hot apple fritters dusted with powdered sugar, what a nice delightful touch. I could have eaten four or five of those! This place is a must try if you’re ever in the area!

This restaurant is very clean and the service is fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious. They are open all day on New years which is convenient for us as we are staying at the cabins at the State Park. The view is amazing of Lake Murray.

Come for the apple fritters, stay for the veiw!! And, yes, the great food. Enjoyed the potato skins and fried zucchini chips. They are delicious! Finished with fried blackberry pies! The apple fritters are complimentary! The staff is top notch- Kayla took very good care of my husband and I. She was very quick to help find seating inside when it got to chilly to stay out side. We will be back!

This was a wonderful surprise, the location was beautiful, the decor was great and the staff was amazing. I had the zucchini chips that came with ranch and honey mustard. For the entree I had the chicken fried steak by mashed potatoes and jalapeño corn. It was all so delicious and tasty. I can’t wait to go back to this place again.

This is located next to the lodge, within the old Blue Heron, same great lakeside view.
It’s been remodeled beautifully to fit their theme. Plenty of seating inside and outside overlook the beautiful lake. Prices are what to be expected since your dining in the lake, it’s the same at other restaurants on other lakes.
Wife and I was seated promptly and greeted by our server. Wife had the Winchester burger, big thick juicy patty on fresh hot bun served with sweet potato fries; could’ve been more of those. I went with the Campfire Hobo dinner, man O’man that was something. I could’ve had two of those, so
Delicious and I had to fight my wife off with my my fork like we were both gladiators sparing over a last meal, lol. Highly highly recommend trying the Campfire Hobo dinner.

Awesome new restaurant inside Lake Murray State Park. Our server was excellent and super friendly. The food presentation is on point and tastes really good for the price. Love that the owner isn't forcing patrons or employees to wear masks! My only wish is that they were open on Sundays so we could stop in for breakfast on our way out of the park.

This restaurant was very clean and everyone was friendly/great service. They gave us complimentary apple critters to start and they were amazing! I had the Misty River sandwich and it was also delicious! If we didn't live out of state, we would be here all the time!

The food was excellent. The staff was friendly. Our waitress, Kayla, did a great job. Great views of the lake off the patio. The atmosphere felt like normal life again.

Let me tell you a story about the best meal of my life. Everything they brought to the table was an inspiration of flavor that touched my soul in ways that words can not convey. Mayson was our server and not only did she treat us well, but her friendly banter made us feel as though we were visiting old friends. I can not recommend this place enough. If you visit Lake Murray and fail to visit the Foggy Bottom Kitchen I fee a great swell of pity for you. It may seem like an exaggeration to say that a single meal can change your life, but I am changed, because I will never travel this region again without thinking of this meal and ensuring I have every opportunity to dine here again.

This is a really good restaurant on the water! The atmosphere at this location was phenomenal as well as the view! Everyone was super friendly and kind!

- So far we had coffee, chicken tenders, apple pie, mashed potatoes, fried okra, Pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruits and bread butter. Everything was just delicious.

Absolutely delicious! They cannot serve alcohol after 10am so be aware if you want a Mimosa with your breakfast. We ate here twice while staying at the floating cabins. We had no problems getting a party of 6 seated both days, sat on the patio (however, it was winding down in the main boating season). Firstly, we ate breakfast late enough kitchen was setting up for lunch both times. They let me get Queso Fries, and I was able to add sunny side up eggs, so so good and a huge portion considering it was a starter. Second day I got Chicken and Waffles (also on the PM menu), sweet and savory. Friends got regular breakfast, huge thick cut ham, hand cut sausage links, the said it was tasty. Service was a slower the second day, I guess the receptionist forgot to tell the waiter we got sat in her section? We had to go in and ask to be served. So that’s my only complaint. Alex, the manager was very nice and friendly, and seemed to care a lot about his job. Would definitely give this place a try if you come to the lake.

The staff was amazing!!! We were greeted with welcoming customer service!🤗 They seated us quickly and the food was delicious!!! We will be back for sure. My nephews and son are picky eaters and they enjoyed all of it. We even had a great view of the lake!

The location setting and views of the lake were absolutely beautiful.
Indoor setting had lake toys like a canoe and small sailboat. We ate inside because it was a hot and humid evening, but they also offer outdoor dining with even more spectacular views.
The menu was limited but every plate we ordered was spot on and delicious.
Having a smaller choice obviously lets them do each to perfection.
Will definitely put Foggy Bottom on my favorites list.

Very nice restaurant right on the lake. They have it decorated for Christmas right now and it's very inviting. The food was good, no frills, we had breakfast and everything was cooked well.
Kayla was our server and she was excellent, I'm leaving a review just to give her props. Attentive and very sweet. Thanks Kayla!
