Abingdon Manor Inn & Restaurant

A great respite from the awful chain hotels off rt 95. About 10 minutes (6-7 miles) from the highway,but well worth it. The house itself is beautiful with a steep history to the early 1900's. We stayed in The Red Room, which was spacious with a private bath & great shower. We stayed here 1 night on our southbound commute to our Florida home, thus got up early to head out. For those folks looking to sleep in, the nearby early am freight train may hinder that. Parking was right outside the house which seemed very safe.
The food is also a standout in an area that is again, 99.9% dismal chain food. Lastly, but not least, the proprietor is gracious & welcoming

Well it seemed like something out of a story book. We had the Inn to ourselves since no other guests. I felt like a princess without my prince. I came for an event with my girlfriend in the area. Pat gave us total access to property and educated us on the rich history. I was so amazed at the original pieces and how well preserved. The bed was comfy and food was amazing. I've already made reservations to come back with my husband. Our new hidden gem in Latta South Carolina.

Quite simply our favorite B&B after our first stay. We stayed in the Master suite which was spacious and comfortable with both a tub and shower. The extra window air conditioner was used as well. Breakfast was delicious each day with multiple juice choices, fresh, ripe fruit, coffee and something hot, freshly prepared by someone who knows what they are doing. The best, however, was the six course dinner. Some portions were smaller, but at 6'3" I still left reasonably full. Wine selections were remarkably complete for a small venue and I liked what was selected for me. Add in friendly owners and staff and you really can't do better.

It's beautiful, it's immaculate, it's historic and the hosts, Mike and Patty made our stay wonderful. They could not do enough for us, out of all the B & Bs we have stayed at, we have rated this our favorite! In fact, we already booked another stay. Oh and the food is delicious!

What an amazing historical experience complemented by an excellent breakfast and dinner menu. The accommodations offer a private 6-course dining experience freshly prepared by the chef overlooking the well manicured gardens. My wife was very pleased by her birthday weekend get away. Thanks to the professional and courteous experience from the staff of Abingdon Manor. This was certainly a well kept secret tucked away in Latta, SC worth exploring!

Much more than a place to spend the night on our way to Florida, our stay at Abingdon manor was one of the highlights of our five week vacation. Starting with engaging conversation over drinks before dinner with other congenial travelers and ending with a delicious and well presented breakfast, we enjoyed every moment. The dinner was truly fine dining in a very special setting and the the bed was divinely comfortable.

Beautiful inn conveniently located close to I-95 in northern South Carolina. The rooms were beautifully appointed with no detail missed. Linens and towels were excellent quality. The dinner and breakfast were delicious, prepared and served with care. The dining porch was lovely.

We stayed at Abington Manor for 3 days the end of September for a family birthday. Michael worked with me to create the ultimate experience in every way. From the relaxing atmosphere, evening cocktails, excellent food and first-class service, it was perfect. As there were 6 of us, we were excited to take the cooking class. We learned new skills and have fresh ideas. But most of all we created great memories. Set the date for your pampering…

Adingdon Manor, a 15 minute drive from Interstate 95 in South Carolina, is a convenient spot for an overnight stay for those traveling between the Northeast and Florida. The stately, turn-of-the-century building has been beautifully decorated and furnished with period pieces. The dinners are delicious, just as would be expected at a highly rated restaurant, but very reasonably priced. The hosts accommodated our numerous food restrictions amiably and without a glitch. A delightful stay!

Stunning inn and beautifully decorated for the holidays. Owner met us and, because of the Covid pandemic, took our temperatures and measured our pulse ox levels, before showing us to our lovely room. That made us feel so much more comfortable as it is such a difficult time to travel now. The hosts had graciously set up a small table for us to dine in our room and, because we were leaving very early the following morning and would not be having breakfast in their dining room, brought a carafe of coffee to a table outside our room and left a breakfast to go bag in a small refrigerator for us to take on the road. Such an elegant and hospitable home for the night. Thoroughly enjoyable and would love to return.

We have stayed at Abingdon Manor several times now and have never been disappointed. Our first stay approximately 10 years ago was to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The room, the service and the food were all excellent. Since then we have done 3 cooking weekends. Mike is hospitable, organized and on top of everything. Patty is accessible and patient with smaller and large groups. Her food is unbelievable. I rely on the website for recipes for celebratory meals and have learned so much from her.

Fabulous! We had a delightful stay at The Abingdon Manor. It was a wonderful restful overnight. Driving along 95 can be so tiring. Abingdon Manor is a bright spot along the way.
Michael and Patty are special host. And Paige the in keeper is a delight. We look forward to next time!

We have stayed at Abington Manor a number of times, because it is a beautiful historic inn with welcoming, accommodating hosts, and food that is beyond compare.
This spring, traveling to Massachusetts, after four months in Florida...with coronavirus haunting everyone...we chose to stop at Abington because we trusted Michael and Patty to provide the most meticulously safe refuge we could find along the way.
We were not disappointed. A welcoming refuge it was ... clean, careful, and comfortable with an amazing dinner and delightful breakfast served in our room.
If I were you, I would go for all the reasons mentioned, but especially to meet the innkeepers and to enjoy the food. Patty is a truly amazing chef.

Beautiful historic Inn style bed and breakfast, with an incredibly accommodating staff and lovely rooms. We chose this Inn to stay at during an overnight stop while driving home from the Holidays (from Florida to Virginia) because they accommodate Electric Vehicle charging and is off of the beaten path and away from noisy Interstate 95. Abingdon has two EV chargers - a Tesla Gen 1 HPWC (240v @ 40a), that provided my 2019 Performance Model S with a charge rate of 30 miles/hour overnight while we stayed, as well as a Level 2 Clipper Creek EV charger that I believe puts out 16 amps at 240 volts, and has a standard J-1772 connector on it. If you're traveling through the Florence, SC area and are looking for a place to stay (with an electric vehicle or not), you owe it to yourself to make the extra 10 minute drive off of I-95 and give this place a shot... You won't be disappointed!

Our journey to explore beaches along the Atlantic coast was interrupted by Hurricane Dorian & mandatory evacuation orders. We were forced inland and — thanks to our Tesla leading us to a place with a destination charger — we spent a glorious few days with proprietors Mike and Patty Griffey at Abingdon Manor in Latta, SC. We were their only guests during our stay because the hurricane had led others to cancel trips. It turned out to be a high point of our trip.
We have stayed at many lovely places during our travels, but this one certainly ranks among the very best. Gourmet chef Patty was not accustomed to cooking for vegans, but she rose to the occasion spectacularly. We had three delicious dinners and three amazing breakfasts very graciously and attentively served by Mike — all with splendid table service and in multiple courses. Despite their worries re: whether we’d suffer a power outage and about what was happening to their friends in the Bahamas, they took extremely good care of us. We felt treated like high royalty!
We were very comfortable in the downstairs master bedroom — not bothered at all by the train whistles. We didn’t experience a need for the thoughtfully-provided ear plugs. We appreciated the extra-lux massage we got from Rebecca — who made the extraordinary effort to come and treat us despite hurricane worries.
We will be looking for any excuse to stay here again!

Abingdon Manor is an absolute gem, right in the heart of the Pee Dee Region, we are fortunate to have a place like Abingdon so close to home. An elegant, yet cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The 6 course dinner was absolutely delicious and breakfast was perfect before departing home. First class property and the owners make certain you have everything you need to feel right at home!

Wedding Haven and Heavenly for my family
My daughter recently got married in SC but I live in Florida. My whole family was lucky enough to find the Abingdon Manor and restaurant; owners Patty and Michael made our stay heavenly at their Inn. With all the too do's of a wedding everyday was a relaxing rejuvenation in my private, well-decorated, quiet "Red Room" for the next day's events. Culinary skills are unmatched at this restaurant. Coming from a large metro area my family has a pick of restaurants to dine at but I would trade any dining experiences in FL for Patty and Michael's FIVE STAR menu. Thank you for a stay of a LIFETIME!!!

You would be hard pressed to find a setting as relaxing as Abingdon Manor, Latta SC. A gorgeous, well appointed historic home. The breakfast, customer service and attention to detail are excellent. We hope to return soon and enjoy dinner at the Manor.

The Abingdon Manor provided an outstanding experience for my wife's birthday. Michael and Patty were excellent hosts and our party of six was treated to a meal that exceeded all reasonable expectations. I highly recommend that you give this a try.
