East side of Oakland - the absolute best onion rings that I’ve ever had!! Tried the Honey Hot wings - Great!! Tried the fried green tomatoes - Great!! It really was all good!!

So when I first heard of this place, it was the place where they cook red chicken. The chicken is red, crunchy and good. Eat it while it is hot. If you find yourself in Somerville TN on highway 76 stop by the Chicken Coop and try the chicken. You have to go early because the food sells out fast.

Parks are a wonderful family and great friends to everyone and if you want real food / fresh food you will find it at the Chicken Coop / hot home cooked lunches during the week / homemade sandwiches anytime cut fresh and made to order/ farm to table vegetables. I Love it and I love the owners.

If you want real southern fried chicken, this is place to go for lunch. Hole in wall, but chicken is excellent. Potatoes are excellent. They turn off fryer around 3pm, so you must get there before they turn off heat. Ask for it fresh cooked, its worth the wait. They have a daily plate lunch, but I have never had it. Anout 20 mile round trip from Oakland.

Very good little sammich dive. They open early for us early birds commuting an have wonderful hot breakfast. Very polite and quick. If you like different or new its worth a stab !? I'm an easy to please person to though ..
