Howard's Drive In

The food is tasty, the staff is friendly, and it’s nice to find something that’s not overpriced and super expensive in a time where getting a good deal is hard to come by. We fed 4 of us for under $15. They have an excellent deal on burgers on tuesdays.

We stopped here on our way into Fort Stockton and were pleasantly pleased with the food. It was delicious and they had some of the best Onion Rings I have ever tried. I highly recommend them.

Omg great yummy burgers 🤤🍔 and low prices! I paid 11 bucks for 2 big burgers and fries so compared to other fast food places I would pay over $20 bucks probably so definitely worth it 😉

I'm definitely super particular about eating out to any restaurant.

I was quite surprised at the service, food quality, and friendly staff.

The price is amazing too.

I do suggest this diner to everyone who may need to stop and eat, or just don't pack a lunch for this leg of your trip and dine here anyway.

We will definitely plan this stop into future trips.

Really good simple honest food! Nice to find an independent restaurant that can easily punch above the weight of McDonald’s or Burger King, add in a fairly diverse menu and you have a recipe for victory.

We really enjoyed our burger. Everything was cooked after we ordered. Fries and tater tots came out hot. The he lady who served us was fantastic. She served the drive-through window, answered the phone, and still talked to us. Worth stopping and relaxing.

I don't know what happened to the reviewers who had a bad experience. The people were nice and engaging, the food was authentic as expected from an independent place. If you are tired of the same chain burgers, try them! And yes, the onion rings are excellent!

What can I say about Howard driving they got the best burgers and the bed chicken tenders and they got the homemade fries curly fries

Unassuming small shack off the side of the road. Handwritten menus taped to the wall, not much for atmosphere but definitely worth the visit if you're in the area. Pleasantly serving up delicious and cheap hamburger joint fare: fries, sandwiches, onion rings etc.

Can never lose with Howard’s! Far exceeds chain option when you’re on the road. We make a point to stop whenever we’re passing through.

Traveling through to San Antonio. Had burgers. They were really good. Old fashioned style. Husband said the fried chicken looked tasty. Very much recommended.

No frills burger joint but fresh made to order deee-lishuss burgers and fries - try the green chile cheeseburger it is to die!

Ended up here after a long day of driving. Food was excellent. Cooked while waited no heat lamps. The iced tea was great. Our meals were great! The 2 employees were incredible. This is a very busy place and they stayed up on everything. Really impressive! Nice variety in the menu. Prices reasonsble. Highly recommend. We really appreciate that our business was appreciated!

If you want a GREAT down home burger, this is the place. I think people complaining about taste, gristle, or grease must be used to that 100% lean grass fed beef bs. I'm a farm boy used to raising his own steers on grain and hay for beef. I was passing through and decided this little hole in the wall looked good. Around since 1964 named Howard's (old timer name)? Hell yeah I'm in. Read the reviews and was a little put off, but I got diesel at the Walmart next door and was on a 10 hour round trip with a gooseneck so I decided to try it. Glad I did, it really was great. The staff was also super friendly and we talked the whole time, the woman at the counter even called me by name after seeing it on my card, that's old school values and genuine care. Also got my jalapeno double cheeseburger, curly fries, and discounted large sweet tea for $10 and change, can't beat that most places today. I'd go back in a heart beat and I wish they were closer because I'd be a regular!

2 people, 2 combos, mozzarella sticks and a corn dog…..$23 and some change. Food was very tasty and fresh. Ladies were extremely nice and checked on us during the meal. VERY satisfied!!!!!

Cheeseburger was very good if you like mustard and lettuce (which we do). Would stop here again in a heartbeat. They did give ketchup packets on the side. Was roughly $23 for 2 cheeseburgers, a corn dog, fries, onion rings, a shake, a chocolate sundae, and an ice tea. The people were also very nice.

Really enjoyed our stop at Howard’s. The food was good and I definitely enjoyed the onion rings. It is small and quiet but a hidden gem.
