I took my two young grandsons to see the museum. I wasn't sure what to expect. The curator, Ross, was absolutely awesome. He explained the history of the house, and the boys loved him. They were so excited to go through all the rooms. Loved being able to touch some of the artifacts. The whole time we were there, it was just perfect.

We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door and was told some of the history. We enjoyed going through each room and looking at the historical information regarding Annie Riggs, one tough women pioneer!!
Thank you for the experience.

My husband and I toured the Annie Riggs Museum. She was the wife of my 8th cousin (four times removed), Barney Riggs. Barney was both a gunslinger and a deputy, working both sides of the law, not uncommon in the Wild West.
The museum was wonderful and had the sweetest little doggy watching over it (she stole my heart).

Very nice collection. A few of the rooms are very dusty/musty and some might struggle to breathe in those rooms.

The collections are laid out nicely and the kitchen makes me wish I had the space to collect such antiques. My great-grandmother still used some of those types of items when I was little, so sweetly nostalgic.

We love Ft. Stockton and the people we meet here. ❤

Historic site well maintained. Many rooms to see that contain tools, clothing, and photographs from the period time that Annie Riggs lived. Very informative 10 minute video in room to right as you come in

Ross is a wealth of knowledge.
Great museum with some hands on exhibits.
Our daughters enjoyed typing on the antique typewriters. We learned a lot about the history of Fort Stockton and the West.

Really beautiful hotel in manicured setting. Blooming desert willows and dusty footprints by the porch. We sat a while to enjoy the breeze. Inside, $5 fee, nice women working. Lots of antique items. Kitchen stuff was fascinating. Spend an hour or two, learn about Ft. Stockton in Pioneer times.

Very interesting museum with lots of stories about the colorful characters who helped establish Fort Stockton. Nicely arranged and very well preserved building and contents. Very impressed- especially considering it was arranged and maintained by a small town historical society. Well done and well worth the $3 admission.

This was a pretty cool little museum. It was formerly a hotel among many other things. The owner and proprietor who ran it for many years I have an Anne Riggs was quite a person. As you go from room to room you'll learn a whole lot about the history of the area, how the trains came where Oil was discovered who started the town and it's important in Texas history. All that from one little museum - that's really a mouthful. Nice place, and the t-shirts are pretty nice as well! I definitely recommend it as long as you're in Fort Stockton you may as well go here in addition to wherever else you're going.

A definite must stop in Fort Stockton. Started at the visitor center and did the walking tour. If you don’t have time to spend doing everything the museum is the best option. You learn a lot of the history that was shown on the walking tour. Reasonably priced at $3 per adult.
