Campground and Lighthouse museum. I camped here for 5 days. Nice, very quiet campground right on Lake Huron. Beautiful view of the lake. There is no beach as it is a rocky shoreline. There are public beaches nearby (20 min drive). There is a public boat launch with ADA compliant kayak launch. Some full hookup sites. Many seasonal trailers. Other sites are electric only. The facility also offers 6 cabins for rent.

You can see freighters on the horizon (5 miles out) cruising the Great Lakes. Look for free phone apps that allow you to track freighters on the lakes. The lighthouse and museum are very interesting. Guided tours are $5 adult, $3 child (Thurs-Sun). This is still a working lighthouse, maintained by the US Coast Guard.

This was really cool. We did the lighthouse tour and the museum. The climb up the spiral staircase is a little tricky but worth the climb up. You can go almost all the way up. The museum was very interesting, and having a volunteer give background history about each display was awesome. Might even stay in the house on the property next time, minimal fee per week, and help out around the grounds.

Beautiful lighthouse. Make sure you go inside and check out the museum and the lighthouse. Great spot to camp that is on the water. The cabins are nice, but the mattresses are really thin.

We have had an RV there for 5 yrs. In addition to the stunning views & historic features at this park, the staff is top notch! The restroom/showers are always clean. The Park is always upgrading historic buildings brought in & the small museum is an asset.

Unexpectedly beautiful camping on Lake Huron, Michigan. Thumbs up to Diane the park manager- she was very helpful, friendly on the phone and in person. Neighbors recommended this park. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Woke up with a water view every day, walked the well-groomed hiking paths, enjoyed the nearby towns, especially The Store in Port Hope.

Very nice I enjoyed walking around the grounds and they had a great museum. I was disappointed I could not go to the top of the lighthouse but that is understandable. Really enjoyed this location.

A beautiful campground right on the water. A nice playground for kids, a boat launch, and nice bathrooms. Will return here for future trips!

Very nice park with a lot of history. Waters edge is rough. Very nice camping facilities and plenty of parking. A nice playground area as well if you're bringing your children. Plenty of picknick tables as well as covered tables of the weather turns bad.

Beautiful shaded campsite with a view of Lake Huron and short walk to lighthouse. The only problem was too many barking dogs!

I've camped here once and was very happy to have picked this campground. While there was not a lot of tree cover for the camper in our site, it was a great location. The night sky was brilliant.

Swimming here is possible through the boat ramp and I snorkeled a lot. There is great underwater topography with big rocks, boulders, and many fish and water snakes. I was surprised about the amount of snakes in the lake here. They are cool and non poisonous. The water was warm in August and there was not many boats around.

Kayaking is possible as long as the winds are not high from the north or east. Fishing for walleye is supposedly good in the late summer when temps in Saginaw Bay become warm and the fish migrate around the thumb to the deeper cooler waters offshore.

Minus the sandy beach area, the lighthouse and park area was perfect for a 4 night getaway. Port Austin and beaches there are not far away. I will camp here again. The night sky is wonderful too with little light pollution for astrophotography. It is bright around the lighthouse though and one must consider that for night photography.

A really neat place! There is camping here right on the lake, so beautiful! There is also a lighthouse that you can go into. Very informative, has rooms the way it would have been when it was active, kitchen, bedrooms, very nice. Also information on nearby ship wrecks and artifacts from several of them. Also has a real time map showing all the ships on the Great Lakes at that time. A little souvenir shop with a lot of books about shipwrecks, lighthouses, the Great Lakes and apparel with the lighthouse on them. The lighthouse and souvenir shop is run by volunteers, who were very nice.

Beautiful park. It was perfect for us. Great area for riding our bikes. Big field for running the dogs with the Frisbee. Sunrise was worth getting up for! We will definitely make our way over there again!

Very nice camping park right on Lake Huron. Many seasonal campers, but it fills up on the weekends. Quiet at night for the most part.

It's a well kept place with beautiful sights everywhere to see. Always friendly people enjoying the day and the gorgeous sites. The picnic area is very pretty and a great place to eat or just to relax at. The playground area is also very well kept and enjoyed by the children all the time. Love it here.

Quiet campground. The restrooms are routinely cleaned with nice shower facilities. The dock leading out is cool, just watch your step when going out.
