Beautiful place, so relaxing and the lady in the gift shop was so nice. The lighthouse was a great experience. Was a little tricky for our special needs daughter to navigate but we got her up and down with only a little fuss. I think she enjoyed it but it was definitely a lot of steps. Museum is nice and has some really neat history. You can’t go to the light part of the lighthouse but was still a great experience.

It is a great place to stop and stretch your legs on a motorcycle ride. Son's Of Redemption organized a great Memorial Day ride.

It's always beautiful there. A favorite place.
I'm so glad that they're finally charging a small fee to explore this lighthouse museum. There's so much to learn here, and all of these people who maintain and work here are volunteers.
I didn't mind paying the small charge to enter the museum, as the men who were working were so knowledgeable and answered so many questions.
All in all, it's a great learning experience.

Absolutely beautiful place!!! The views are amazing and the water looks so refreshing. The way the rock look like the are sliding into the water and laying flat over 100's or 1000's of years looking so cool. Highly suggest checking this place out. Not to far for metro Detroit people and worth the drive!!

Beautiful area. Visited when it was closed but still great to walk around and take in the views. Campground next door too. Recommend taking the detour off the main road to see.

If you are near the area, stop and tour the museum and climb the lighthouse. The tour guide in the museum was great. The stairs to the top of the lighthouse is a little scary but worth it.

Never visited Michigan before, but I wanted to take my father to a lighthouse while staying in a town an hour away. This lighthouse did not disappoint. We loved talking to the people working in the museum and listening to the rich history of the lighthouse and the area. The grounds and lighthouse are well kept. It's a memory that I will always cherish. I do have plans on returning and staying at the campground that is nearby.

This is a beautiful and historic site! The history plaques are worth the time to read. Explore, but don't venture to close to the lawn edge at the water. Recent high water has seriously eroded the property and undermined the lawn along the length of the cove.

Beautifully maintained lighthouse and park. Great views, benches and picnic tables. Camping is available, but the water is rocky for swimming.

The lighthouse and park are beyond beautiful! The tower climb? Intense, mesmerizing, invigorating, and so much more. It’s truly an ineffable experience and a fond memory I will treasure forever. The volunteers are all amazing. They were all very kind, super helpful, and exceedingly knowledgeable/passionate about the lighthouse and area. If we weren’t leaving today, I would have stayed as long as they would have let me lol

love coming here. park is always well kept and the people are respectful. that being the staff and the residents that come and rent spaces. the pier has been well kept despite being damaged several times over the years. the lighthouse offers tours and is super open to visitors. a great example of historic preservation and dedication! a must see place in the thumb

Very nice Michigan lighthouse. Climb to the top is only open certain days so check before going. Museum is open more than tower.

This is a great lighthouse. The post marker for the original location of the house is hard to find, but I added a pic giving a better idea where to find it.
The park is large and has ample room if your looking g for a place to eat while your out.

Absolutely beautiful little stop. Due to COVID-19 the lighthouse and gift shop was closed but they have alot of plaques giving you information about the history of the lighthouse, along with info on the major ship wrecks and some names of people who lost their lives. For those who want to make a day of it...it has a large pavilion and a grill or two. Campsite across from lighthouse but we didn't stay. Feels remote, we loved it!

A beautiful Lighthouse and functioning all of the time. There are many beautiful areas to check out near the pretty waters and much history is posted outside to read about the interesting historical site. Always enjoyable to visit and even when it is closed to enter the inside there is a great deal of beautiful oitside areas all around it to enjoy. The scenery is breathtaking, I just love it.
