Did a little early spring camping & absolutely fell in love with this little campground & the area. So peaceful. Lake still had ice when we were up, so we skated around in our boots & could hear the ice expanding late in the night, which was pretty cool. Nice trails, although they could be better labeled, but I'm guessing this spot isn't terribly frequented. Used the Avenza app to make sure we were going the right way back to camp. Few vault toilets & water pumps are available. Definitely will be making a few trips during the summer.

Wow, this is a hidden gem. Beautiful spot, well maintained. Some secluded campsites. Near to, but far enough away from the atv trails. Danbury's few restaurants and groceries are reasonably close by. In the fall, the leaves are gorgeous. And there's a lake. Nice spot.

Very nice well maintained State Forest park. The lake was wonderful for some quick cool you off dips!

Cheap and secluded. My family reserved the 3 sites in the turn around area in August 2018. Other campers were friendly. It was nice being in our own little area. The dirt road to get back to the campsite is a little over 5 miles, I believe. And not a pleasant drive either if you have a pull behind or a boat. Very bumpy. The lake is FILLED with leeches. You cannot even wade in without them attaching to you. We tried fishing at the end of the dock and we caught nothing, not even a bite. However, we did see a 5" leech swim right through open water and nothing went after it. We went on a weekend when it was 80+ degrees and humid but no swimming because of the leeches. Otherwise, not too bad of a campground. My grandpa says it was the best camping and fishing 10+ years ago. Hopefully they stock the lake soon to help it out. **Updated February 2019.**

I've been going here for 25 years. I prefer a campground to be as primitive as possible and like most State Forest Campgrounds, this one delivers with a steel fire ring with attached adjustable height grill, and picnic table at the sight, 2 hand pump wells and 3 outhouses throughout the grounds. Nothing more. It also has a bunch of trails for hiking/horse back and several trailheads near by for ATV use. It's on and provides the only access to a small lake with a gravel ramp and sturdy dock. The remaining perimeter of the lake is natural shore with great diversity. Tamaracks, Birch and Oak and wet land vegetation break up the shoreline in sections making for some great photography opportunities in a place so beautiful that I consider the limited cell phone service here a positive attribute.😁

First time my husband and I have been camping together. There’s a hand pump for water and there is an outhouse if needed. Campsites are well maintained and semi-private depending on which one you get. It can be hard to find a site on the busier weekends. If you love camping and don’t mind going without electricity this is the place for you!

Suffered bad storm damage several years back but recovering nicely. Sites are private and campground is very secluded. It’s 5.7 miles via dirt road from the campground sign on the highway to the actual campground and 20.1 miles to the nearest gas station. Direction markers on the curves could use some shrubbery control- they’re a bit hard to see. Primitive! Water pump, no electric. Outhouse was fully stocked with clean toilet paper. Never caught a fish- turtles kept eating our bait without ever getting hooked. Smart turtles.

Mosquito haven but total solitude during the week. Road to get here is long with some potholes.

Great campground. Picnic table, fire ring, sites are spaced nicely. Short drive to fantastic fishing in NW Wisconsin.

Great, quiet campground. Far enough out there that it doesn't get crowded or noisy. DEFINITELY rustic - even cell service is spotty.

Low key, access to the lake for boating and swimming and great connection to some awesome atv trails. Bring your bug off!
