Red House Beach at Allegany State Park

My wife and I have been coming to this park at least twice a year for the last 15 years. We are avid outdoors people and this place has it all. Hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, biking, lounging at the beach, you name it! We usually do a cabin camp in early spring and then a tent camp in the mid or late summer. This time we just came for the day to treat ourselves to a relaxing day of literally just floating around the lake in our kayaks. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the wildlife is amazing! Back in may we saw a bobcat while we were here camping. This place never ceases to amaze me. The hikes are everything from easy paved walkways along the lake to very challenging trails through the woods up steep grades and over water. I highly suggest the three sisters trail!! It's pretty short but it is extremely exhausting and a very rewarding feeling once you reach the end! We already can't wait to come back in a month or so!

I love the atmosphere. One walk around the lake sets my day rolling. The most peaceful time is in the coolness of the morning. The birds are talking, fish jumping, there’s so much movement in the trees.

It is a beautiful place, with many things to do while there!

I came here with my family off-season. The wooden playground was unique, with lots of fun elements that the kids really enjoyed, including a zip line, digging area with an "excavator," swings and climbing structures. The restrooms were nearby and open. There's a pavilion, picnic area and second playground across the road (Beehunter pavilion).

A great place to go for a day or get a cabin and stay a while. You can fish go kayaking go swimming or just hike one of the many trails they have. We take the kids there all the time

Great spot for a family beach day! Lots of space for lots of people. Great sandy beach with a view that is second to none. Lots of lifeguards on duty. The playground is very modern with super cool equipment and even a zip line. We came from the Niagara region in Canada and it’s a beautiful easy drive and less than two hours depending on the border.

My father grew up in Salamanca. Used to make annual trips to Allegany State Park! This was a Daycation Fall Foliage visit. Everything was beautiful. We also had a very nice lunch in the restaurant in the Administration Bldg!!

Love it here, beautiful place. Cabins are nice, bathrooms are clean. Lots of things to do. Hiking, biking, paddle boats. Highly recommend.

Beautiful beach! My son played for hours. Not many rocks, just all sand. Also has trees for shade on those hot summer days!

The park is so well taken care of. I enjoy the serene quiet. Great place

Beautiful, also home up left mountain was relaxing and fairly easy. Cabins were warm and bathrooms clean.

Best state park in the country! Hiking, horseback riding, swimming, bicycling, cross-country skiing, pleasant walks and well-groomed trails. Beautiful scenery! Amenities include gift and grocery shops, laundromat, restaurant, lodge, picnic area with grills and pavilions. Campsites vary in amenities depending on how much you want to rough it.

Beautiful hiking trails, a large lake beach for the kids, and a few playgrounds. Peace. Love. And Nature.

After an afternoon of checking out a couple of the trails we settled at the beach to relax for a little. The beach is very well kept. Even though we did not buy anything at the snack shop we did notice the prices are comparable to other shops at this time. The restrooms/bathhouse is well maintained.

This is a very beautiful park. Mountains of trees is the view from anywhere.

It has always been a good beach but this year there is construction to the spillway so you can only wade, for a month or soThe rest of the area is beautiful the new playground with the kids size zip line is great. The park is beautiful lots of hiking trails bike paths and a great place to see wildlife. Lots of scheduled activities for both adults and kids throughout the week. The staff is friendly ,informative and helpful.The cabins are clean and well kept
We have been going there for years and can't wait to go back
