Wax 'n Wix Candle Making Studio

This was by far the best activity that we did in Lake George with 2 young children.

The owner is wonderful, patient and with a welcoming dry sense of humour. You select any candle mould, from approx $8 + and then proceed to break up slabs of candle wax - available in over 40 colours - which led to much indecision on our family's part but we were gently reassured to "keep going back and selecting as many times as you like" by the owner.

The process is that place the wax pieces into the mould you have selected. The breaking up wax was a little challenging for my youngest - but no worries - there are also tubs of pre-broken up wax pieces - in all of the colours available.

After this, we could select a scent for our candles - from cranberry, orange, cinnamon wintery scents we preferred - as well as some tongue-in-cheek hilariously named scents.

The last step is that it takes 30mins for the candle to be set. We looked at the beautiful art displayed in the studio and some adjacent stores.

We took about an hour creating our candles - and felt very comfortable and welcome to linger longer. The bill was the total sum of the the 2 candles we chose, very reasonable.

Just a lovely afternoon activity on a winter’s day in Lake George. Truly delighted with our candles.

Incredible experience. Personally I don’t love how mine came out but that’s my own fault. Otherwise the guy was a riot and made the make-your-own candle process unforgettable! If you’re in the area you should definitely go. Great price too! And the scents forget about it!

Great place to learn about candle making. I took my Art Club of 18 students, and we had a blast designing our candle's. Jim, the owner, worked with me on pricing because we were on a budget. I highly recommend spending an hour or two making a candles here. It would be a great place for bridal parties, birthday parties, or mother's day.

A truly unique and fairly priced activity... Fun for all ages! In a destination with so much stimulation, this was a great way to get the kids engaged, mindfully. Hardest part is waiting to the hot wax to cool, so plan accordingly as this part of the activity will need approx 30 mins. Time to take a walk, have a quick bite or do some shopping at other stores in the mall.

Brought our wedding party there to make the candle center pieces. He stayed open late for us with personal attention. With great prices!!!

Me and my girlfriend were looking for fun things to do because it was our anniversary, out of the whole outlet, wax n wix was the best place to go! Jim is super funny and had an amazing sense of humor for all ages! We made a heart shaped candle with our favorite colors for just $10! I was so surprised because it was cheaper to make my own candle rather than buying a candle for $15. 10/10 if I could leave a 100 star review I would, the only place in lake George I felt at home at.

My husband and I each made a candle, it was so fun and the owner was very friendly. We loved the whole experience.

10/10 Would recommend. Whether you are just in Lake George for the day looking for something fun to do, or are looking to plan a nice day out with friends/family. The environment is super cozy, the staff is incredibly nice (they will play Jazz music if you ask nicely). I've made multiple candles in there, and every time they came out beautifully and the scent selection is very broad. I already have another trip planned next month to bring my mom :)

First I have to say that the prices here are fantastic - you can’t get a good candle anywhere else for the price you pay here. Also, the fact that you can customize your colors and scents is amazing. My boyfriend and I both made candles and had a blast chopping up our own wax and being a part of the entire candle making process. The owner is also so kind and we had such great conversation. I definitely recommend this to everyone coming to the lake George area! We had a blast!

What an awesome place. Jim was very accommodating to our group which we had 8 kids. Everyone was very happy. I highly recommend it I give me 10+++ plus stars. Price is very reasonable depending on candle size and shape $7-$40 Don’t forget to get your scent Monkey Fart scent was good.

Bri and her little sister are the two most hard working girls I've ever met. They did amazing work helping us make our candle. It was a fun experience making a candle for the first time.

This place is awesome!!! Fun for kids and adults! Jim is extremely courteous and accommodated our large group after hours. He was calm and helpful and we didn't feel rushed at all. It was our last stop on a family vacation and we all agreed that it was the cherry on top of our stay! Thanks Jim!!

I brought my daughter to make her mom a candle for her bday. We had so much fun and will be going back often. The price was really good and it is just a pleasant experience all around.

This place promises to help you make your own candle from start to finish. You first pick from an assortment of about three dozen different shapes that your candle will be. Additionally, you can pick from about a dozen different colors and mix the colors any way you wish to create the final look for your candle. Finally, you can pick your own scent from about two dozen different scents. It was a great feeling seeing how the candle came out once the hot wax solidified inside the mold.

I’ve taken my kids here several times, most recently last seen, and have had a wonderful experience each time. Owners are really friendly and helpful and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. For us we’ve decided to go once a year or more

I visit here everytime I am in lake george. The owners are always welcoming and friendly. Making the candle is so fun and their custom smells smell better than any store bought candle.

Owner was wonderful she was very knowledgeable about area and greeted customers with a friendliness that is rare to find these days. Great place to bring out of town company for a handmade souvenir or to make unique one of a kind presents for friends.

Fun place with friendly staff. Host (older gentleman) had good humor and was accommodating to our large party and helped by staying a little after closing.

Workers were really nice and funny, but this is the wrong address, make sure you get the right address first I paid for parking for no reason. Very cool and fun though!
