Logan Elm Park

Awesome stumble across while road tripping. Very nice setting with a shelter house and picnic tables. Several monuments and an Ohio Historical marker to read about the history of the location. Glad we was able to stop and learn some more Ohio history.

I remembered this park from when I was a kid. I finally found it. The grounds are well maintained. It has a lovely shelter house. This would a great place for a picnic. I read every stone and sign there. I learned quite a bit. I definitely will take a few friends over so we can share in the history of this beautiful park.
The only down side was the drive coming in is a little rough. I was also disappointed that there was no signs saying this way to Logan Elm.

It is a really nice a peaceful walk around. Kids can run around and play and I like that the pieces of history are spread out do you can enjoy the park and nature. It would be nice to have a picnic over there.

This park has a monuments dating back to 1774 that are around the peace treaty signed under the giant elm tree. The words engraved show the true struggles of when we settled with the local tribes. There is pain and joy on both sides, and is evident in the wording on many of the monuments.
My great x6 grandfather built a cabin on this spot in around 1778 and raised all 8 children here. He worked and traded peacefully with local tribes thanks to Chief "Logan" who put aside the horrors that were initially set upon them by Lord Dunmore.
It is a beautiful place, the original logan elm is gone.

Small park with picnic benches scattered throughout the area. Well maintained. There are about 5-6 memorial stones, be sure to read each one. Very interesting history lesdon for all ages. No playground, but plenty of fenced area to let kids run and burn off some energy ☺

The Logan Elm Memorial documents real events in Ohio before statehood. Describes injustice & violence of warfare against native peoples in order to push them out of Ohio territory to make room for European settlement.

Nice little park but the Logan elm should be replaced by a new disease resistant variety of American Elm not a dying oak tree

This park is very nice and well maintained lots of very nice memorials and picnic shelter

Weather was just perfect to enjoy walking and learning with my friend and her grandson. Beautiful place.
