Keystone Science School

I searched and researched camp options in CO for a long time! I came upon keystone and really wanted my girls (9 and almost 13) to experience overnight camp and all the joys outside and nature has to offer. The counselors were literally amazing humans! They were empathetic compassionate and Inclusive! I remember going to a faith based camp when I was younger and it was an awful experience but this camp was just so amazing! All of the campers were kind to my girls and although I was worried how they might do in the outdoors, doing activities they have never done, the counselors were there to ensure they had what they needed and made this an experience they will remember for a lifetime. I accidentally packed the wrong type of backpacking bag but they made sure they had an appropriate one. They did so many awesome activities in just 5 days, my girls were singing camp songs the entire way home, and had so many cool stories! My youngest cried when it was time to go home because she had so much fun and they're already talking about how ready they are to go back! It's an amazing place with an energetic amazing staff!!!!!! I wish I could send them more than just one week they'd probably go the whole summer if they could haha

My son has attended multiple camps at KSS including Discovery, Expedition and now the Counselor Assistant Program. He has learned how to make new friends, wilderness and perseverance skills and how to be a patient leader. We are so grateful for his experiences at KSS and how they have helped shape him into a responsible young outdoorsman.

I’ve never seen my two kids more happy and dirty at a camp experience than when we picked them up each day this week from Geology Camp! They’re already so excited for the next one in August; can’t wait to come back. See you then!

My son absolutely loved camp at the Keystone Science School. He was so excited to go everyday and to tell us about his daily adventures and the new friends he has met. It was great for him to be able to get outside all day after being cooped up the past few months. The staff was courteous and professional. We had a really great experience. We are already looking forward to next year!

This is a great summer camp. A little of something for everyone. Day Camp, overnight and adventure camp all with a bit of science which aids in the fun. The counselors are outstanding. My kiddo loves it!

KSS is always the highlight of my kids' summer! The counselors are fun, caring and creative - somehow they manage to get teenagers up for a sunrise and climb mountains! My kids have gained so much in terms of confidence, courage, and handling new situations. Thanks, KSS!

My daughter LOVES this camp! This is our 3rd year and she comes home with something new every day. Thank you KSS for finding a way to keep camp magical for kids even during this challenging summer of coronavirus restrictions.

When I was younger (11-13yo, tenish years ago) I attended the programs here, I feel it is the perfect place for many young people to learn and experience science and the outdoors. Now I am Latino and I had no time fitting in with the team or the the staff. I felt they were incredibly respectful and taught the history of Colorado very well. I went on camping ,rafting, and hiking trips I never thought I could go on. At times, they were not easy and I felt like giving up but the staff watched out for me and my asthmatic brother. They prepared me for my future outdoor trips and kept me safe even to this day.

We had a decent amount of diversity;I got to meet some students from Taiwan, different leaders and staff from across the diversity spectrum, etc. I felt respected and treated fairly for being young and the rules of the camp are fair. I still remember having to eat everything on my plate to reduce waste and only grab what I needed to be full, good times!

Ultimately, I will send my kids to this camp and that is why I give them 5 stars.

I was thrilled when I heard about Keystone Science School's fall programming for middle school students. As local working parents we were concerned about leaving my 8th grade daughter at home during her off days at school. Keystone Science School has been the perfect opportunity to help keep my science-loving daughter engaged and on task with her remote learning.

Kids have done day and overnight camp here and LOVE it! I’m so impressed by the counselor enthusiasm, the education and overall excellence of the camp. We will keep coming back

I can not praise this camp enough! I love it so much. I have been attending for the past 10 summers and it is amazing. There are so many programs that encourage the campers to step out of their comfort zone, and explore the outdoors. Yay KSS!

Fantastic program with dedicated counselors and programs designed to build leadership skills through science and adventure. My two kids have attended camp here for years and can't wait to go back every summer!

My son, who has several food allergies, recently went to Keystone Science School for a three day school field trip. Before the trip occurred, I reached out to the KSS School Program Director, Kendra Fuller regarding my son's food allergies. Based on the information I provided, Kendra immediately sent me the planned menu with food allergies identified and put me in touch with Chef Nate, the head chef for KSS. With the menu, I was able to identify what my son could eat at each meal, and Chef Nate offered up alternatives. For example, my son was not able to eat any of the planned desserts. My son is used to not being able to eat dessert, so we assumed that would be the case here. Chef Nate offered up alternatives so that my son could have something with all his classmates. Chef Nate even double checked the dates of my son's trip to ensure he would have what he suggested. My son had a great time on his trip and neither he nor I had to worry about his meals. I strongly recommend KSS for anyone with kids with food allergies because this facility truly understands and can accommodate multiple food allergies. Thank you Chef Nate!!

We love KSS! We love all of their programming and my daughter is already excited for summer camp!

KSS provides outstanding opportunities to learn both for local and other students and strongly and effectively promotes critical thinking. It's Girls in STEM program is an excellent example of this.
