The stoney river lodge is a great place to stop on the foot of the mountains and next to a small river. I used the river to bath in the morning and it was great and refreshing. The service was great and everyone was super friendly… a nice family owned business! They even sent a personalized Christmas card, 5 months after the stay. Awesome!! The rooms are clean and totally sufficient for a stay in the woods. The place itself at a lovely libation. It is simple and good! If you are looking for a luxury retreat, this is not your place. The time spent there was great and i would definitely come again!! Thanks a lot :)

This is a wonderful place to stay and spend time on the beautiful Thompson River in the mountains The rooms are very comfortable and are stocked with everything you need from sleeping to preparing meals. They even want you to look at the room before you check in to make sure you are satisfied with their accomodations. I have never been offered that option. The owners are very helpful with anything you need. We had trouble with phone reception and they personally helped us set up our phone service . The place is not fancy but very nice and clean if you are wanting to experience a location that has so much to offer and close to everything from towns to the Rocky Mountains. I look forward to coming back again .Do yourself a favor and stay there. 👍

Located about 20 minutes from Estes park. You may think this is a flaw, but what you get is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful MTN view across the street. A river flowing less than 75 yards from your front door bringing peaceful noise only the mountains know best. Nice "patio" by the river to enjoy the sounds n scenery. For a young "poor college couple", this was the perfect place. The cowboy room is a great 2 person. Microwave, 2 burner stove n a mini fridge was perfect. We could not find a hotel in July without spending $200 a night minimum . The lodge made the trip possible for us. The owner is very nice, walked room over with us, and made sure we were happy before signing/paying. When/ if we head to Colorado again. We will book here.

Staying here for a week will make you want to live here. The rooms are so clean and fully stocked. We stayed in the Longhorn Sheep room, plenty of space and kitchen has everything you need for meal prep. The location on the Thompson River is beautiful. We would stay here again and again. Thank you for a relaxing and great vacation!

My husband and I have stayed in The Wolf cabin the last two years. The location is fantastic and sitting by the river is the best! Would recommend staying at this charming little resort in the Big Thompson Canyon.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The owner was very kind and generous, and went so far as to take us to our room to make sure it was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. There were many activities to do at the lodge when we didn’t feel like driving or getting stuck in traffic in Estes. 11/10 recommend.

Absolutely loved our stay here at Stoney River Lodge! Only a 25 minute drive away from Estes Park. The family that owns this lodge is extremely friendly and went out of their way to help and make our stay comfortable. Came back early from Estes Park and enjoyed playing some Horseshoes along with checking out a board game for the night. The Eagle room was very cute and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Would highly recommend and will for sure be coming back!

Wonderful cabins! Our family of 4 stayed in the bear cabin and had such a wonderful stay. Location is beautiful. Owners are friendly and helpful. Cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable. This is a perfect in-between experience for me (who likes to tent camp) and my husband (who likes to stay in hotels). We enjoyed the games, the grills, and the grounds. Would recommend and would stay here again. The kids want to stay longer than 2 nights next time!

This was our second stay in the Big Horn Sheep cabin with our family of 6 and we love it! Location is great and is within a half hour of Estes Park and RMNP. We fished in the Big Thompson River just steps away from the cabin and the boys caught several trout. The ambiance is relaxing in and outside of the cabin. We used the kitchen quite a bit for meals during our trip(s) and most everything you would need is available in the room. Bathroom is spacious in this cabin and plenty of room for all our things + hanging towels. It was great with our littlest one to have a bedroom separated by a door when sleeping. Lori is very sweet and personable and will do her best to make your stay wonderful! If you are looking for a simple, quiet place to stay where you can enjoy the outdoors, this is the one!

This was our second stay at Stoney River Lodge. We absolutely love it here. The rooms are clean and the owners are wonderful. Everyone welcomes you with open arms. It feels like you are going to visit an old friend; where you can relax like you are at home. We cannot wait to book our next stay with them.

Love this little resort! Owners were nice and very helpful. There was a welcome basket with snacks, drinks and toiletries - we thought that was a very nice touch! Cabin was well stocked for cooking some meals in and the scenery was awesome. We stayed a week and wished we could stay longer - we would love to go back! Such a beautiful area.

We found Stoney River Lodge by Googling "pet friendly".
Well, we booked a room and upon arrival there was a cute welcoming basket. It had coffee, Hygiene incidentals, sunblock and dog treats! So Nice!!
Owner Lori and her sister Sandy welcomed us and gave us a tour. Lori's son helped my husband unload our cooler. The whole team were nothing but warm and attentive all weekend!
Hospitality is huge! We forgot foil and sugar. They were brought to us complimentary. Great grill/smoker!
You can tell the "vibe" was genuine and so wonderful throughout our weekend. We loved it so much, we are going back again this weekend! Rooms are super clean!! We even had friends come up and join us for a night. Love the Theme for each
It is a lovely hidden gem. I hope many people find Stoney Rover Lodge. I also (selfishly) hope it stays a hidden gem. We love residing next to the river and relaxing as we fish or have a cocktail. It is 420 friendly and some people utilized that benefit. We did not, and it was not a hindrance to our stay. Thank you Stoney River Lodge!

A wonderful little place to stay in the mountains. Found this place looking a for pet-friendly and smoking-friendly and we were not disappointed. You can't smoke in the cabins, but the outdoor smoking areas and scenery are so beautiful you won't even want to be indoors. The owners were lovely and extremely helpful. They gave us a sweet little gift basket with snacks and toiletries. Would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a quaint little cabin in the mountains and we will definitely stay here again if we are in the area again!

My husband and I stay here for our honeymoon. This is an amazing place to stay. The view is beautiful! The staff is amazing and friendly. They even bought us a bottle of champagne for our last night there! It is peaceful and quiet. Plenty of things to do, see, and explore. Will definitely be staying again in the future.

WONDERFUL STAY & HOSPITABLE OWNERS
We stayed for a weekend while attending a wedding in Estes Park. It was a perfect and affordable location. Lori was so welcoming as soon as we got there, and we enjoyed our stay in the Buffalo Room! We would 100% stay here again.

This is simple, affordable lodging that's very laid back and away from the rush of Estes Park. We felt very at home in the Wolf cabin; it was clean without a hint of smoke smell and equipped with everything needed. The entire property is neat and well maintained and Lori was extremely accommodating. Expectations exceeded and certainly recommended!
