A great place to send your boy scouts camping. They teach merit badges and help treat them great and the food is Awesome! I definitely would suggest camping here as a troop.

Great place but the bath shacks and shower shacks desperately need to be replaced. Otherwise great camp and lots of activities for the kids to stay busy having fun and earning merit badges

Great scout camp with friendly staff. They offer a lot of water front badges which my scouts enjoyed. They also had a wide variety of other badges and activities.

I went to this camp for 2 summers as a scout and 1 summer as an employee. I would tell about my experiences as a scout, but that was too long ago and this camp was under new management when I worked there.

As I looked through these reviews, there was one regarding Dakota as a boss. Honestly, I think he was a fine boss. Sure he was strict sometimes and very late trash sweeps sometimes on Friday nights, but he wanted the camp to be clean for the coming troops. Dakota being a troop friend to a troop was also seen as very bad for Dakota to do, but I see good reason in what he was doing. The troops that Dakota usually took usually had some significance to him. Sometimes it was a troop that lived in his neck of the woods, or he knew the leaders. He also would take the troops that he wanted to make sure they had a good time. He would take groups of younger scouts to go on the speedboat and go fishing, and do other fun things with them to provide a good experience. I feel like this did not take away from the scouting picture of things, and may have let the kids have a better experience overall. I don't know what to say regarding the trading post because I worked on the Waterfront and never had to deal with that sort of issue.

Regarding the time when almost all the adult staff were gone, this was because they were going on the Canoe Outpost or the Wilderness Survival Trip. As the people who stayed behind, we did go around and clean but I never saw this as really a problem. I saw the whole cleaning part of this time as my job and just something that needed to be done.

I was not necessarily Dakotas favorite employee at this camp. I was not his favorite, but I was not his least favorite either. The only times me or my friends got rewarded were in the cases that we helped out. On the waterfront, the water would get very crazy for some reason at the end of each week. We had boats go way out into the water, my Canoes would capsize and I would struggle to show to the kids how to get the water out of the boat and put away. On an especially crazy day we had to hold the motorboats from crashing into the beach with humongous waves. I feel like there were no people that were given random rewards, all were deserved.

Another issue I have seen by reading all of these comments is regarding the food. To be completely honest, the food was not awful. After all, I had to eat it for a few months. There were a lot of scouts to feed, so the food had to be stuff that could be quickly made and could be dispersed reasonably fast. The only meal that may have been an issue was the Fridays because the steaks were interesting to try and cook a ton of. But even with all of this, there was the option to bring their own food. I feel like if the sole purpose of you going to this camp was for the food, you may have come for the wrong reasons.

I also feel like all the workers tried to be as helpful as possible. Sure we had some rough days but we tried to make it as enjoyable for others as possible. As a troop friend to some troops, I tried to make them feel comfortable and really connect with them, and I feel like I did that just fine. There were some people who did not really do anything with their troop, which really sucks, but I made sure to spend as much time with them as possible.

I really would recommend to go to this camp. The staff takes a lot of time to try and make their merit badges as fun and as educational for the scouts, and they try to make the overall experience for the scouts great.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk I guess

Couldn't have had a better week here with my son and his scout troop. Thoroughly enjoyed the staff and food plan. Plan on getting dusty and dirty and hot in the summer. The rock wall is awesome and the equipment they use is well kept and not beat up.

I was a Webolos when I was 11 back in 1993. Troop 2 Pack 9 Sonoma County California. First place I shot a .22 and a shotgun. Learned to pilot a boat and all about water safety. It was the ultimate adventure for a young boy. Earned my arrow of light and became a boy scout. Glad to see its still there. Firing range and all.

We've attended many scout camps in Utah and this is one of our favorites. We especially enjoyed watersports and free time in the bay to the south of the camp.

Hands down the best aquatics program in Utah. The lake can be somewhat unpredictable, but when it is calm, it the boys have a blast.
