Wisdom’s cafe is a gem. It took us two attempts to get in as the place seems always busy. I didn’t even know it existed until passing by a couple of times and noticed all the cars. Historic, a bit rustic and decorated as you would expect with so much history. Has to be the most popular restaurant for many miles. Our food was great and service to match. There’s a reason that Wisdom’s is always packed. Get there early!

The cheese crisp with shredded turkey and green chilies was excellent! The margaritas were great and they were served to the table unbelievably fast. The blueberry 'burro' for dessert was so good. A very nice balance of cinnamon, sugar and very lightly fried. An all around great experience.

Wisdom’s has been a great place for Mexican food and this visit didn’t disappoint. The star of our lunch was the Cliff burrito smothered in verde sauce. Also the pico de gallo with chips starter. The fish in the mahi mahi tacos was hammered — way over cooked. The Baja tacos also not recommended in the fried fish form. Chili relleno ok but not exceptional as I expected. Service was sparkling. Dining room excellent as we were seated next to the fire on a chilly day.

Love Wisdom's when I visit Tubac. This time, my friends and I had already had a large lunch, so we stopped by to get one of their famous fruit burros. There were three of us and they gladly split it in three with ice cream on each plate.

This delightful historic Mexican restaurant is just south of Tubac on the eastern Frontage road. I had the Enchiladas Banderas, cheese, shrimp, and beef enchiladas on one plate, each with a different sauce. Absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and gracious. Highly recommended.

Food and service was excellent. Ambiance warm and quaint. I had the Chili Relleno with tomatillo sauce and it was fantastic. My husband enjoyed the soup special, Pablano soup, and an enchilada. We both had the traditional
Margarita and it was the best!
We couldn’t ask for a sweeter server, Sabrina, she was great!!

5 of us walked in and were asked if we had a reservation? The hostess said that with 5 or more, we should have a reservation. Then she just grabbed an extra chair and seated us. The food was awesome, and the service was awesome. Margaritas weren't bad either. We're going back soon!

This was my first time at Wisdom's Cafe. There were 15 of us there for lunch. The food was AWESOME. The service was great. Most of all, the dessert selection was outstanding.

Very nice place. Food was good. Excellent food. Loved the pico de Gallo with the fresh warm chips. Got the coconut shrimp tacos. Yummy. Prices were very good. When we left it was packed but it was lunchtime, a lot of people on the patio.

I go there for the Sonoran hotdogs! I absolutely love them! We ordered chips and salsa the other day and the chips are the best I have ever eaten! Everything that I saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious! Definitely worth the trip!

I didn’t take pics and I should have! I ordered the Flautas (to go) which is rolled corn tortillas with shredded beer then deep fried - some places call these rolled tacos or taquitos. The first thing I noticed was the amount of shredded beef inside the fried corn shell was the way it’s supposed to be … most restaurants give you a rolled and fried corn tortilla with such minute shredded beef you’re basically eating just a rolled up fried corn tortilla - I was very satisfied with the proper amount of shredded beef.

What comes with the meal is the traditional Mexican or Spanish rice which was made to perfection and refried beans again tasting like beans should taste. On the side was home made (not store processed) guacamole, sour cream, lettuce topped with the perfect amount of cheese and salsa. This was an entree meal at a nominal cost of $19 for four delicious taquitos (flautas) .. The place was packed and I was eating alone and was not forgotten which was really nice experience. The Server was male and pleasant. No free chips and salsa here - a real gem.

While on vacation and within two hours of landing in Tucson, we were introduced to Wisdom's Cafe. I am now back in Minnesota contemplating moving to AZ just for margaritas, cheese crisps, and chimichangas. The food tasted amazing and the portion sizes were more than adequate. The margaritas were awesome. You will not leave feeling hungry or parched that is for sure. The ambiance is eclectic and wonderful. My friends and I had a great time and raved about Wisdom's many times in the days that followed. Definitely will return.

Easy to just squint your eyes and imagine what road warriors of the 1950s would have experienced: good food, even better service with reasonable prices. Really like this place. No pretensions! Be sure and get a loaded cheese crispy.
