I really enjoyed Tubac Presidio State Park. The self-guided tour was interesting. I found that the Historic Schoolhouse, archeological remains of the Presidio and the Rojas house were very some of the highlights for me. The museum is also very extensive.

Great place and kid friendly with many hands on exhibits. My son loved the old school house and Rosa's casa. The volunteers were very friendly. Make sure to do the scavenger hunt and junior ranger piece for badge if you are bringing kids.

This was my first visit to the Presidio. It is set up well and for the $5 entrance fee, well worth the time to go through it. There is 2000 years worth of history here. The museum has an amazing amount of artifacts. I came here to see the ambulance (wagon) and was not disappointed. Its in beautiful shape and you can touch it! Unheard of in most museums. Plan on at least an hour to 2 hours to go through everything. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Excellent display. The docents are also very knowledgeable. Well worth the $7 even though the Presido building isn’t intact.

Very nice museum to visit. Looking at the uniforms and the heavy gear Spanish soldados de cuera(the leather soldiers) had to wear, it is no wonder the Comanches and the Apaches were able to wreak havoc with their raids. The paintings from Bill Ahrendt are also pretty amazing I have to say.

Children love it, I've seen the outside grounds but have not toured the inside...yet! I usually walk to the middle of Tubac and explore the great shops. I love Shelbys for peaceful, relaxing dining outdoors but History is always cool in my book. A visual reminder and first rate way to learn.some of the townsfolk are kitschy as he'll too :)

You won't mistake this place for the Smithsonian but if you visit you will see what local volunteers did over the last few decades to bring alive the history of their town and the surrounding natural areas. It's a sweet and interesting multi-media indoor/outdoor museum that is worth at least an hour of your time. It's also a welcome break from the commercialism of the art and craft shops.

Beautiful Mission grounds. During Covid the gift shop and museum are closed, but the grounds are open. It's easy walking, all flat and easy paths. They have plenty of free literature to coordinate signs with facts. A park ranger is there and answered our questions about the history.

I have been in Tucson for 15 years and I've been to Tubac several but never made it to the Presidio before. I was very surprised and pleased with my visit today. I didn't know that this was the Arizona's first State Park. It is well maintained. The sidewalks make it easy for those in wheelchairs, too. This is far bigger than it looks. If you like history, you'll love this place. It's only $5 a person, so it's quite affordable.

Excellent state park and grounds. Self guided tour after a very good video. Plenty to see but plan on walking the trails too as they link up to the Tumacacori mission too. Local art shops on the way to the park make this a full day to enjoy.

Wonderful long trails, Juan Bautista Anza trail had a lot of history:"The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail covers over 1200 miles through the homelands of 70+ Tribal communities. It follows the historic route of the 1775-76 Spanish colonizing expedition from Sonora, Mexico to San Francisco, CA."

We arrived and the grounds were closed on Monday and Tuesday. The volunteer who was gardening, allowed us to walk the gardens. Stunning grounds and wonderful public relations. We will be back for the museums.

I was fascinated by the archaeological dig area and the wonderful timeline of the Tubac area presidio and missions. The town is great for walking around and the trail between Tumacacori and Tubac is very nice. We will be back

Such a great expirence! I wish I could remember the gentleman's name that got us started on our walk around, but he was super friendly and informative. Seeing the Presidio (or what's left od it. Was really cool, as well as the museum portion of the place. There is so much hystory there in one small place. I will say we all got a strange feeling going into the gallery. I'm not sure how to explain it. Either way, we'll be going back again.

If you are looking for a great hike with no hills or rocks, this is it!
Mostly in beautiful, shaded trees. About four miles from Tubac to the Mission, or eight-mile round trip, both ends are great places to visit.
