Howard Johnson by Wyndham Oacoma Hotel & Suites

This hotel is our go-to stop when traveling to my in-laws. We have stayed several times. It is always clean and quiet, they have suites available with three queen beds that accommodate our family well, they have a decent free breakfast with some gluten-free options available, and they accommodate pets for a minimal fee.

I have stayed here 3 times reserving two rooms on each stay. The 6 rooms we rented were all clean and comfortable. The rooms on the lower level were more noisy than the upper level, but still not terribly loud. The beds are comfortable and we rested well. The water pressure was good in all rooms. The breakfast is average and they offer the usual items like, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, biscuits, pastries, etc.

Nice, updated hotel. There was a patio off the continental breakfast area. Quiet. Nice staff, especially Jamie who was really great even though they were short staffed.
Room was clean, beds were nice. Good sized fridge with working freezer. Coffee and water served in the lobby all day.

Hotel was clean, service was friendly, pool was clean and fun. Breakfast was good.

I travel often, and honestly at this price point I am surprised when I find something with no bugs or old cigarette smells where I can get the curtains closed and the water is hot. This place was amazing. The room was clean, painted and odor free. The linens and towels were clean and not covered in stains or other people's hair. The carpet was nice and clean and the heater/air-conditioning was in working order. There were plenty of amenities I was not expecting like an ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo and coffee. The employee interaction was great as well. Best $100 I have spent on a room in 6 months.

Best place at the best price. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Pool was a nice size hot tub was very warm. Front desk Very cordial and helpful. The Guest was my only complaint. They were very rude.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Shower was hot with good water pressure. Staff was super nice and professional (front desk person and cleaning personnel). The breakfast is good. Location is easy to find. Down the road is Al's Oasis restaurant that has restaurant plus supermarket. I would stay here again.

Great hotel for the price range. Room was updated and clean. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was included.

The one downside you might need to know is that there is no elevator. Luckily our family of four includes two teenagers, but 10 years ago I would have been pretty aggravated.

Otherwise we enjoyed everything about this hotel and would stay again.

responsive front desk, accommodated our needs fabulously. room was clean, quiet and the beds comfortable. the pool was a great temperature, open early and clean.

breakfast was good. biscuits, gravy, eggs and sausage along with the normal dry goods.

coffee was terrible but since that's all I have to complain about, 5 stars, would recommend and will return. I'll just go across the street for my cup of Joe.

Everything was good. Staff was friendly. We didn't experience anyone being rude. Breakfast bar could have been kept supplied better.

Staff was warm, inviting and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and the beds were amazing. Everyone in my family truly enjoyed a great night's sleep. My son and I enjoyed a swim in the morning. The only thing we weren't sure of were the rusty stains in the hot tub. The breakfast selection, temperature and taste were stellar. If it had been a bit warmer, there was a great seating area outside the breakfast room.

Excellent room in a small (but not tiny motel); just a couple of floors and few halls on each. Easy enough walk to the wonderful indoor pool -- did I mention the hot tub? Very quiet night and a typical continental breakfast spread ready early in the morning.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were nice quality. Breakfast was excellent...scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit, bagles, donuts, and a fresh waffle maker. I would stay here again.

We stopped here with our toddler for one night during a road trip and we were really impressed with this hotel: clean and comfortable accommodations. Most importantly, our room was very CLEAN, including the bathroom; our toddler wanted to use the pool, and the pool area was also clean; the hot tub in the pool area was nice and hot (it was heavily chlorinated, which isn't such a bad thing, but it made it hard to stay in too long); there were ample clean towels provided in the pool area along with tables and chairs.

We stayed in a standard two queen-size room, which was ample room for two adults and a toddler.

Breakfast was decent (bread and pastry options, biscuit and sausage gravy, waffle station, hot coffee and juice, milk and cereal, yogurt, fruit, and oatmeal), and it was consistently refilled during the time we were eating.

The staff was friendly (we interacted with a few staff members over the phone before arriving, both of which were friendly and helpful), and a staff member named Nick checked us in, and he was just as helpful.

Good value for the price. There was a kind of a 1970s mod orange "Ho-Jo" vibe and I loved it. Comfortable pillows and beds, clean rooms. Breakfast was good, but served out of a small room with a bunch of other people eating without masks. We ran the gauntlet and got two waffles and two yogurts that we brought back to our room to eat.

We arrived late at night. Checking was easy and staff was friendly. Place looked nice and clean and up to date. We had a peaceful, comfortable sleep. They had some breakfast options, even though COVID is still a concern. The staff was accommodating of our need for a late check-out. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Clean, quiet & comfortable rooms. Oh, and my most favorite thing of all - a tub that drains fast! I cannot comment on the breakfast since I woke up too late. The staff was amazing and the front desk went above and beyond in making special arrangements. I definitely will be lodging here when I pass through central SD.

Friendly desk clerk. Clean and our suite was two down from the pool and hot tub area. Perfect for a teen birthday overnight. Great price as well. Breakfast included which is awesome, and what I usually look for in a motel. Sure helps save money! Eggs, sausage, waffles, and all the other “typical” continental breakfast items. All were individually wrapped. Happy they offered it despite covid. Loved the all day coffee bar as well.

Stopped for one night on our way back from Yellowstone. Great room, great location, and service was fine.

I stopped in without a reservation and much to my surprise they had a king single suit available.
My room was so comfortable I chose to stay for 2 night's i recommend Howard Johnson's an excellent place for first class rest and relaxation.
