Thunderstik Lodge

If your looking for the best hunting lodge for pheasant hunts this is it. The view can not be beat and the service and staff are great. Our guide Ray and his dogs were awesome. Went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and in place to make sure no birds got past. The people at the lodge are great. Jill, Krystal, and the rest of the staff made sure we were takin care of. The food was very good. Hope to be back real soon.

Thunderstik was everything I dreamed of for a pheasant hunting lodge. The food and staff were top notch. They truly make you feel like family while you are there. The guides worked hard to make sure everything was as seamless and smooth as possible. Tons of birds and very easy to hit your limit daily. The amenities of the lodge are great and can’t be beat. Can’t say enough good about this place.

While hunting at thunderstik lodge on a company retreat we were greated by the best guide anyone could ask for Brock. He was very knowledgeable and tentative to each and every need or want we had.
I had one of the best times I've ever had from the coziness of the lodge, to the amazing food, and the wonderful hunt and weather.
I cannot wait to go back and have another wonderful time.

We hunted out of the Rooster Ridge Lodge. The food was fantastic, the lodge was clean and comfortable, and the hunting was amazing.

Our guide, Ray, was great! He was friendly, clear in his instructions and communications, and was very helpful to everyone in our group. And man did he put us in front of a lot of birds! He and the dogs really out did themselves to show us a great hunt! We cannot wait to go back again!

The staff here doesn’t miss a detail. They welcome you “home” and that’s what it feels like. Accommodations at the Lodge are great, food was terrific, and the entire staff showed a genuine appreciation we were there. The American heartland is strong and what an enjoyable experience. Bird hunting was a bonus. Limits every day.

Thunderstik Lodge far surpassed my expectations. The staff was helpful and engaging. The food was top notch and we definingly had more than enough to eat and drink. Our group had Brock as a guide. He made sure we had a good time and was knowledgeable about the lodge and surrounding areas. I could not have asked for a better pheasant hunting experience. Thank you Thunderstik for the memories.

Thunderstik is a great place to be for peasant hunting. The guides are very knowledgeable and nice. We hit our limit quickly each day due to the amount of birds there were in South Dakota! Fantastic views of the Missouri River too. I can't recommend Thunderstik enough. You'll be very happy you chose them!

It's hard to put into words what an amazing time that the staff provide at Thunderstik Lodge, but I will try my best! The amenities and meals are second to none, with really comfortable rooms that are well-maintained and the food cooked by Lisa (prime rib, osso bucco, and fresh pheasant were our three dinners!) was out of this world! The lodge has such a cool feel to it with a rugged look and animals on the wall but modern amenities to keep everyone entertained. The scenery and setting is fantastic though. To be able to look out on to wide, uninterrupted stretches of the prairie is something most people don't get to appreciate, but Thunderstik easily provides that day after day. Plus the hunting was a big success too; the guides are fun to be around and the dogs work really well. Nothing but good things to say about Thunderstik. We've been making memories there for over 10 years now and I can hardly wait for our next trip. You haven't lived until you've experienced a weekend of hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying life at Thunderstik!

Visited for a family reunion and was amazed at the facilities. The newly constructed wrap-around deck with built in fireplace offered an incredible view of the setting sun and Missouri River. The buffet was excellent and the two full time staff members made sure everything was taken care of. Their outfitter Travis took us out for the most fun trap shooting experience I've ever had. I'm looking forward to going back.

My husband and I and another couple went on a pheasant hunt here in January of 2018. It was the most amazing time ever. The lodging was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The food was out of this world delicious. All of the staff were amazing, so friendly, and helpful. Our guide was such an awesome guy. And the dogs! Luna is my personal favorite (we have a Luna at home :-)). Close to town to pick up whatever you need. Spectaular views. Gorgeous sunrise and sunset. We limited out every day... YES even in January! My husband and I definitely plan on returning. It was our first true pheasant hunt together and it surely won't be our last at Thubderstik. Highly suggested. Thanks Thunderstik!

This hunting lodge is by far one of the nicest places i have ever stayed the staff is all real personable the facilities are all top notch and the the hunting was amazing. If you are looking for a world class Pheasant hunt. This should be your first and last stop I strongly recommend Thunderstik to anyone looking to enjoy a great hunt with great people in a great place.

Best place in the world. The guides and staff were amazing. This was my first time at Thunderstik. I found out quickly that almost all the guests are repeat visitors. Now I know why! Can’t wait to go back.
