Amazing food the service was superb and it brought a taste of South Florida back into my mouth finally something other than this bland Mexican food in the Ozarks I encourage anyone to try this it will change your life worth the wait because everything is made fresh to order the owner is courteous and thanks everyone of his new guests i will definitely be telling all my friends and family to come here and they will soon be doing Latin nights with karaoke I wish this place nothing but success and growth. Thanks to the owner Juan to keep doing whatever you are doing because the food speaks for itself.

Real PuertoRican (caribean) food! Big portions, good prices. Dont be scared to try Mofongo or tostones, both made with fresh Platains

Mofongos were great and soft, it takes some skills to cook them to perfection. Kinda disappointed some flavors they were not very authentic. The cheese flan was amazing. The quesito was just a regular pastry, not like the glazed ones made in PR. We needed a PRican restaurant in the area, in the midwest not all ingredients are available so they do a great job despite of.

To start there was quite a long wait, which we were prepared for considering lack of staff; however, it would have been nice to have gotten a complimentary appetizer to carry me over to the meal. I ordered the Paella Ala Coqui (half a pineapple with rice). It was quite good, but could have used more chicken and steak. I only got 4 small pieces of chicken in the rice. A member of my group ordered a side of white rice and it was horrible. It was extremely old and was very crunchy and some pieces were slightly translucent which tells me it has been sitting in a warmer all day or they threw it in a microwave. Overall I see a lot of potential in El Coqui and am glad to see something other than pre-pattied burgers in Forsyth.

This was one of the worst experiences my family and I have had. For starters, the menu isn't done very well, too many poor/tiny pictures and not enough organization or explanation (for someone who hasn't had Caribbean food) Also, not enough American choices. I understand bringing new flavor into town, but you need more traditional items on the menu. Also, we thought they had a bar(facebook suggested this), they don't and that was disappointing.
Next, service and wait time. All of the staff was friendly, especially the owner, Juan. But they weren't that busy and the staff seemed to be in chaos, three waiters and the owner came by our table, but nothing ever seemed to get done. As friendly as they are, we waited a long time for our order to be taken and then for the meal, all of the food came out at different times.
The flavor of the meats were fine, but everything was overcooked, black/crispy. Didn't enjoy the rice. Fried plantains were fine.
I want to end by saying we were really looking forward to The Coqui opening in Forsyth and like the thought of variety, but as of now we can't go back. In a town like Forsyth, you need repeat customers.
Early breakfast( eggs, pancakes, biscuits& gravy, etc), more american food options for lunch and dinner and a staff that flows better, will be needed if Coqui is going to make it in Forsyth. I wish Juan the best of luck, and hope they are able to adapt to our towns needs and stick around.

Went in, got seated, and waited. Waited some more just to have not even a single person even talk to us or have us feel welcome at our table. Even the guy who brought us to the table didn’t make us feel welcome. No one at all for a good 10-15 minutes then another family gets sat down and a server comes up to them and welcomes them instantly. That was the last straw for us and we left. I don’t plan to come again because that was the worse experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant.

Didn't have any ingredients for appetizers, waited about 25 minutes for our order, the only good thing was the Pepsi we ordered to drink. Food doesn't look like the menu pictures and absolutely no flavor. The service was lacking .

The worst service I have had in a restaurant in many years. My wife was asked what she want to drink and she was brought water, I was brought nothing. It took the waiter 15 minutes to take our order. We waited for an hour for our food, and it never came. The waiter told us that it would only be another 5 minutes for our food. We left without dinner and will not be back. The music was also to loud to think and hold a conversation.

To say this was a Caribbean food no way the flavor was like rice pilaf the shrimp was overcooked the chicken and beef was dry there was no Caribbean flavor at all there wasn't any spice at all we waited 25 minutes the chicken alfredo was like a alfredo sauce out of a package and they mixed it and they didn't even dissolve the powder it was clumpy powdery Alfredo horrible I got the pineapple muck rice pilaf no flavor the shrimp was dry it was horrible no spice the only thing that was okay was a plantains fried plantains just can't screw those up no matter what nationality worst meal I ever got in my life it was horrible the people that put good reviews either work there or a family or friends of them wanting them to stay open Forsyth all I have to say is kick them out save your dollar kick him out

I waited one hour for my meal after placing my order. Price for garlic chicken was 16.69 and certainly not worth the price. I will not be back again
