Tom & Nova are amazing hosts! Accommodations are beyond amazing. The lodge is extremely clean, comfortable, and spacious. The hunting is the best I have personally experienced. I had the pleasure of visiting Platte Creek Lodge with 14 friends for a pheasant hunting trip, and it was nothing short of amazing. This being my first pheasant hunt, I didn't know what to expect, but the experience far exceeded all my expectations.

The lodge itself is the epitome of comfort and luxury, tailor-made for hunters. Its spacious and cozy interiors provided the perfect home base after long days out in the fields. The amenities, including a fire pit, a hot tub, and a clay shooting range, added a fantastic touch to our stay, ensuring there was never a dull moment.

Now, let's talk about the food - it was absolutely incredible! Each meal was a delightful surprise, surpassing the previous one in taste and creativity, especially the various pheasant dishes they served. It's clear that they put a lot of thought and passion into their menu.

Our hosts, Tom and Nova, were the heart of the lodge. They were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the week. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly at home and welcomed.

Tom was an exceptional guide during our hunts. His expertise and knowledge of the area made our hunting experience both fun and successful. We were thrilled to reach our limits each day, and the service of cleaning and preparing the pheasants to take home was the cherry on top.

Tom and Nova exceed expectations from the time you pull into their drive and enter their well-appointed lodge, sporting trophy mounted pheasants, geese, deer, mountain lions, and even a fox.

The rooms were comfortable and stocked with thoughtful details like a blowdryer and personal products.

But the luxurious lodge pales in comparison to the gourmet food that delighted us all week from home made sausage, pancakes, scrumptious pork-chops, home-made pheasant pot-pie with a rising pastry, all followed by decadent desserts.

As to the hunting, I have never seen better. Tom and his team ran five dogs who worked the brush and the trees so all you had to do was shoot. And shoot we did, our group limited out everyday before noon. Tom ran a safe, professional, and successful hunt with exceptional and knowledgeable guides, first class equipment, and beautiful dogs that make bird hunting so special.

This was the best North American hunt in my life. I could not recommend it more, not to mention the gracious, friendly, and accommodating staff.

I also forgot to mention the hot tub and fire pit. There was so much to offer. I was totally impressed.

Friends had told me I would really enjoy the trip to Platte Creek Lodge. The experience with our guide Tom, accommodations and service attended by his wife, Nova, and the food…were all first rate. We left with the cooler full, and looking forward to enjoying their hospitality the next time!!!

Amazing Experience here! 5 STAR quality food and hospitality in the most rustic and amazing setting. I cannot say enough about this operation from top to bottom - the hunting was a bonus and it was great. I have stayed all over and truly this was one of the very best experiences I ever had! From coordination of our trip logistically to the final departure our experience was flawless.

You will have no regrets when you book with Platte Creek Lodge for excellent guided fishing. All of their guides are skilled, knowledgeable, and most of all, very fun to fish with. This year was our third year in a row to spend a few days at the Lodge and we will be back!

Tom and Nova Steinhauser are excellent hosts and their facilities are top notch. They will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and we always make new friends while visiting.

Words can’t describe how genuine Tom and Nova are! Fantastic people! Fantastic environment! You can’t go wrong staying here, the lodge alone is worth the trip. There is also great fishing and hunting very close to the lodge. I will definitely be back in the near future! Overall I had a great experience staying with Platte Creek Lodge!

Had a wonderful time with my father and my brother at Platte Creek. Nova was so attentive to our needs and the place was immaculate. I have never felt so welcome at a lodge before. We had a great time fishing with our guide Greg. Thank you for the amazing hospitality Nova and Tom. We will be back.

Extremely nice lodge and guide service. Nova is also an excellent cook and made sure we felt at home. They cleaned and packaged our fish. We will surely return. Hands down a very well kept lodge!

Had a chance to stay at Platte Creek Lodge and do some pheasant hunting about a year and half ago. This is a great place. Owners, Tom and Nova, are fantastic people. Food was great. Amenities were clean and comfortable. I didn't want to leave. Oh, and the hunting was the best pheasant hunting I've ever had. Highly recommend this place.

What an unexpected surprise this place was. We discovered it only because it was late in the day and we needed to lay up for the night. Tom and Nova (owners) made us feel at home immediately. They have two very large sections of the lodge that are amazing. Stay away from the city hotels and their crowds. Best hosts ever it felt like it was our home away from home.

I can’t say enough good things about this lodge and our stay. The lodge is beautiful inside and the owners Tom and Nova were extremely welcoming and accommodating for our group. It is a great location to nearby fishing and hunting opportunities. There is also a golf course right down the road which was a fun way to spend the afternoon as well. I would definitely recommend staying here if you plan to be in the area for any reason!

Exceptional and attentive service sums up our experience. 15 of us met to celebrate friendship, family and life. This is our 25th year as a group, we have stayed at some beautiful and very accommodating locations across the US. The roots of our tradition and the draw of our great memories has brought us back to South Dakota once again this year. Platte Creek Lodge from the instant you walk in to the Lodge, the rustic but beautifully decorated great room that included, a large table set for 16 with a spectacular stone fireplace and spacious seating area for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen and bar area were also in the great room which allowed for everyone to be together at the same time. Tom set us up with professional guides for fishing. Even though the weather conditions were difficult we caught fish and had a blast. Nova and Dee would fill the lodge with the aromas of home cooking at its best. They put together fantastic meals and packed bag lunches that were incredible. We came as strangers and left with the warm feeling of appreciation and love of life that we and all desire on these trips. Thank you Tom, Nova and Dee. You are now part of our family too.

This is the best place to go in South Dakota. Tom and Nova are absolutely awesome. We have had the pleasure of hunting with Troy the past two years and he is full of knowledge. I do not feel like I am staying at a hotel or lodge I sincerely feel like I am staying with family and we have an awesome place to hunt. The place is beautiful and it is spread just enough to make it feel cozy but not cramped. I sure do appreciate the opportunity to get to hunt here. We have been fortunate enough to go to the Pheasants Forever banquet and I have won a shotgun the last two years.

Great people, great experience! They went over and beyond our expectations. Tom and Nova were very accommodating, and made sure we had everything needed and more. Our guide Ed was very informational, and did his best to get us our fish. We didn't hit our quota, but we did get some gnarly fish and everyone knows a days fishing is better than a day working, ANYDAY! All in all, it was a super dope experience and I HIGHLY recommend stopping by and checking them out, I'm already talking my grandpa's ear off about another trip next year! Lol

We could not be more relaxed after 4 days at Platte Creek Lodge. The coziness, family atmosphere, friendships made, cleanliness and amenities Tom and Nova work so hard to offer are top notch and one of our most favorite getaway spots!! We had a fun trip. Time of year wasn't great for the fish biting but Tom did a great job finding fish and doing all he could to get them to bite. The lodge was really nice and comfortable and both Tom and Nova were great hosts! Well absolutley be planning another trip here!

Truly just an awesome experience. Hunting was about as good as it gets, Tom was friendly and knowledgeable, and watching the dogs work is the best part of it all. Tom and Nova operate a first class hunting lodge. Nova oversees the meals and accommodations and it is a 5 star experience! Tom is an excellent hunting guide and the result was a limit of pheasants for 3 days for 16 guns. Safe. Professional. Fantastic habitat. Super dog work. I highly recommend Thais lodge! Ldw
