Scenic View Motel & RV Park

Kim and Jim are amazing! Great host! The sites are small and leveled, but all you need to do is park. There is no need to pull out chairs because there is an amazing porch to hang out on. Even chairs upstairs if you want to sunbathe. You can even bring you hot plates or gas grills and cook right on the porch! There's not much in the town. But the view of the resovior is amazing!

One of the most beautiful views on a lake that I've ever seen. Room, convenience store, boat launch ramps, and fishing dock all with 100 yards. Personalized customer service with a smile. Not to mention parking for Super Duty pickup trucks. Will be booking an extended stay in the near future!!

This place is a true diamond! I stayed here a week ago at the motel. It is on the waters edge with lots of amenities.

The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. I cooked all my meals on the 2 burner stove. When I needed additional kitchen items, like an extra large mixing bowl, Kim kindly provided one. The nobs on the stove took a little getting used to but worked fine. The fridge, a 3/4 size, was plenty big and the freezer kept the ice solid.

The real beauty is outside. While it's been hot enough to cook on the sidewalk lately, the water is cool. There is swimming either off the dock or right at the waters edge. There is also a kayak available for rent.

The clubhouse has a beautiful covered deck with multiple comfortable tables and chairs. I enjoyed lunch here before departure. There are ceiling fans that kept it cool. There is also an upper deck that made for wonderful sunset observations. There are lounge chairs that are great for sun bathing there if that is more your thing. There are picnic tabls, porch type swings and outdoor games around the property. They also offer a fully stocked tackle shop. They have a pontoon boat on site that appears may be available for rent also.

The site exceptionally clean and well cared for. Kim and Jim are very welcoming and go above and beyond to welcome their guests!!

There is also a cabin available for rent. It is absolutely stunning! The view of the water is unobstructed. The shower is rustic yet modern. Ya gotta see the pictures!

They also offer multiple RV sites available. A laundry room is available at the far end of the motel for guest use.

I can't say enough about this place. It's a great place for a drop in or to get a away from the crazy, hectic noise of the city for a while. Kim and Jim are the best!!

We stayed in the cabin. We loved it. Super clean and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask.... immediately we were taken care of. We stayed during the forth of July. Very nice firework show. They were packed but it was all good everyone was so nice. I recommend everyone to check out gift shop. The t-shirts are really cool. I would advise anyone who is going thru and need a place to stay....this is the place. I promise you you can't go wrong staying here. We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again.

A hidden treasure!!!!!! Kim and Jim are perfectly wonderful hosts and care about their guests. Their personal touches are all around you. Thank you for an oasis during our stay. The view and the lake are beautiful and the room was fantastic. I honestly can't say enough about this place except LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!!!

Beautiful place to stay & at a great price. Rooms are a little dated, but they stay really cool & the owners do whatever they can to make you comfortable. Kitchenettes, a bathtub, coffe, creamer, sugar, dishes in the rooms & it’s right on the lake…..

A gem of a place and a wonderful experience here at Scenic View! Hosts were very welcoming and attentive. The room was clean and well stocked. There are many lakeside seating options to enjoy the sunset over the lake, and to peacefully enjoy morning coffee. Lone Star is fortunate to have Scenic View as such a draw to the area. I will be back!

Hidden Gem in northeast Texas! Scenic View is literally has an amazing scenic view! I found this place for the 4th of July weekend and came back a couple of months later for Labor Day weekend. I am from Houston and it has been worth the drive. The motel rooms are clean and complete. It even came with a kitchen! The rooms are waterfront which is amazing. No need to walk far to jump into the lake. Kim and Jim are super friendly and accommodating! This mini resort is budget friendly and in my opinion it is worth much more! I’m glad I found this place and I will definitely be coming back 2-4 times a year. No words can explain my wonderful experience there. Thank you Kim and Jim!

My husband and I stayed in the cabin for two nights. It was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. The view is amazing. The owners Kim and Jim were so kind to us. It was exactly what we needed during a challenging time.

I recently stayed here from the 18th to the 24th and was extremely happy with my stay. I've never slept well in hotels or motels and didn't think I ever would until I stayed here. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It was the first time in years that I slept through the night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the amenities needed. Jim and Kim were both such wonderful and likable and made me feel at home. I'll be staying here whenever I visit again.

I absolutely LOVE this place and Kim and Jim, the owners! It is right on the lake with the most spectacular sunsets! The rooms are always spotless and very well equipped. Kim and Jim are simply wonderful and treat all of their guests with kindness and respect. The property is excellently maintained and, if you have not seen the Christmas light display, you should make a point of doing so. Breathtaking! But, don't miss the July 4th fireworks either!

You can tell from all the other reviews that the two people who were not very kind obviously caused their own problems. Jim and Kim will do anything they can to make your stay great, but DO protect their property for themselves and other guests and only ask that their guests do the same.

You won't be sorry you went! I promise!

Kim and Jim are wonderful! We had a small snafu upon checking but they went above and beyond to take care of us and make us happy. It’s a beautiful, simple place with a ton of character. You shouldn’t look any more and you should book here. This is the perfect, quiet and CLEAN place to stay and get away. 5 star ⭐ treatment!

Beautiful views of the lake, motel is clean and comfortable, and the owners are super friendly and accommodating. The RV spots are well-maintained and easily accessible, with beautiful lake views and easy access to grills and lake. So glad we stayed here and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable spot to stay!

My husband is there now. For the second time. This is our favorite place when he works there. Kim and Jim were totally awesome almost 8 years ago and very social. They made us feel so welcome we will not stay anywhere else when we have to go to Dangerfield. The lake is beautiful and quiet. This is my favorite spot in Texas (if I had to choose) I wonder if they still order jerky from Ralph's in Oklahoma? Lol

Okay first of all, Angela Churchwell- what are you talking about? You must not travel too much. If you want a nice clean place to stay when you travel, you have to go by a set of rules. I travel and most every place I go to has rules. It keeps the park clean and quite. There was only one place they didn't have rules and I saw SWAT one morning come and ripe a camper apart look for drugs, money, and two people wanted for murder...

This place has been a joy. I don't want to leave. The birds, squirrels, and the floating dock was just what the doctor ordered... Jim and Kim Sly are just outstanding. Just the most down home people you could ever meet. And Jim works very hard on keeping this place clean. I would rate this the be "The Best" one we have been to, oh and we have been traveling for my husbands job now for 2 years so I have been to a lot of RV parks. We will be coming back.

This is a beautiful, quiet, relaxing place right on the lake. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the cabin, during spring break and it was so quiet and nice that we seriously didnt want to leave. The owners, Kim and Jim, were very friendly and helpful. Stop by if you are going thru Lone Star. Its worth the stop.

Little piece of paradise in East Texas. Planned to stay three nights and left after three weeks. Perfect place to rejuvenate mind, body and soul. Jim and Kim are great hosts. RV park offers full hookups. We were facing the lake, fantastic spot. WiFi worked well. When we return, we will return as family.

Well kept and we were right on Lake so scenery was spectacular. The owners were so helpful and friendly, Jim was so helpful with setting trailer in and Kim was full of information. Super couple. Friendly people all around Lone Star..
