Lewis Grocery and Deli Hempstead Texas

This is a gas station with an included food stop. They serve hot sandwiches and sausage, etc. They even had a breakfast menu. They sale Hog Head cheese by the pound as well. They offer a small seating area for those who may need to eat in or wait for their food. It's a small country spot and the workers were very pleasant. The sausage sandwich was served nice and hot.

The burgers was great and my husband said the sausage sandwich was the bomb the cashier was very polite when we bought our lotto tickets and paid for our food the cook was also polite we will be back soon

Bacon egg sandwiches are really. Not as big as when Mr. Lewis owned but still good. CB are very good also

I have been going here to eat since i was a kid with my Aunt that lived in Hempstead. I continue to go there and I’m 48 now. I love this place. The sausage sandwiches , breakfast, ham and cheese sandwiches are always the best. I drive from Houston just for a sandwich sometimes lol.

Shout out to Adriana for her exceptional customer service. We had the pleasure of meeting her while visiting Lewis Grocery and Deli in Hempstead Tx with friends and family. As we were walking in Ms. Adriana was cleaning the mats and the store was very clean once we entered. We did not notice any slip or trip hazards as we walked around.

It was late and the store was going to close soon. We explained to Ms. Adriana that we had about a four hour drive and we really wanted something light that met our dietary liking. After explaining to her we ate Turkey she smiled and excitedly said "I got you".

Ms. Adriana thank you for the Turkey slices and for enjoying what you do. We really appreciate your exceptional customer service. It was a pleasure and a blessing meeting you and this is our way of being a blessing to you.

We won't pass through Hempstead without stopping for a sandwich. I eat at a lot of places on the road and this place simply cannot be beat. Been going there for more than 10 years and my last stop was yesterday. Always amazing what you get. I'm serious.

The sandwiches are AWESOME!!! We drove over 60 miles just to get them. There was 5 of us and we each got at least 2 sandwiches. The service is great too! Its not just a deli its also a gas station. Its a one stop shop. If you want filling food at a reasonable price...this is your place! The cashiers make you feel welcome...makes you feel right at home!

You have got to try the Chez burgers and BLTs there! Sooooo good. About the same we price for a combo as Dairy Queen or Sonic, however, meat is not frozen from a package! DELICIOUS!!!! Oh.. don't forget the fries 🍟. Mmmmm

Omg the bacon sandwich is the bomb (BLT -lt) it had to be at least 1" of bacon compress between the bread.

This place has the very best deli sandwiches and burgers. Insane portions and fresh ingredients. My son always has the BLT. It has over a 1/4 pound of bacon! If you are in the area during lunch, I strongly recommend that you stop by and get a sandwich or fresh, flat top grilled burger.

A great place to stop in for fuel and food. The breakfast burritos are freshly made along with the gigantic sandwiches. The store is always clean and stocked. The staff are friendly and professional. I highly recommend stopping in to Lewis grocery, you won't regret it.

Anytime I come through Hempstead, Tx I'm going to stop and get my roast beef sandwich. I remember my dad bringing me here even as a kid......

1/2 lbs Hamburgers are made to order... anyway you want it they have all the fixins!!! Cooked fresh while you wait...Well worth the wait. I've been coming here for years. Large menu lots of options to choose from. I was hungry today I ate the whole thing hamburger and fries. Normally I can only eat half for lunch and the rest for supper.

I love going here. No just for gas or a drink. They have some amazing food in this place. Y'all should definitely check this place out.

Lewis's / Exxon is a hidden gem in Hempstead. Hidden within the facade of a gas station, is a deli. This deli carries in my opinion the best Burgers you can get in Hempstead. There is a very tasty selection behind this hidden deli counter. From BBQ sandwiches to there monster BLT. Btw they use handfuls of bacon. A bacon lovers Paradise! Their burgers also come with this bacon option free of charge. They also serve cold cuts, summer sausage, cheese, etc. Next time you are passing through on 290 I would highly recommend it. The drawback is that it is a gas station and there is no seating but I have found myself scarfing their burgers down in my car. It's well worth it. It
